  1. Leewah's GTR had 604awkw's (800AWHP) and used the OS gearset and it never broke. Just about everything else broke - but the gearset is still good. Ben from Racepace also use one in his 500awkw track car. Previously I believe he did bust a Trust 6 speed dog box but hasn't had any issues with the OS.
  2. Ignore him. Kev from Driver Dynamics is the guy to speak to. He's a nice SAU Vic club member and everything and will look after you. http://www.driverdynamics.com/ Or send a PM to kevwrx on here.
  3. I was talking to Jeff Beaumont at Techsport just last week about repairing HKS Hypermax suspension and he indicated that it was basically impossible to repair that stuff. They can be re-gassed etc ok but not really rebuilt. Perhaps give him a call. TECH///SPORT , Bayswater ph ( 03 ) 9720-9300
  4. Given the ladder situation I'd say there is a 5% chance of a prelim actually being played in Vic this year unfortunately (Weekend 23-24). However - IF there is a game in Vic I might be able to hook you up with a couple of tickets. Obviously we won't know if there is going to be a game in Vic that weekend until after the 1st week of the finals.

    Deca Wind Up

Hey all, Glad you all enjoyed the weekend. The day ran smoothly and was a great success due to the awesome work of our officals and helpers. I can't thank all you guys enough for allowing these days to run. Also a big thanks go to the participants for their great behaviour and continued friendly nature both during the day and Sat night for those that stayed as it's the atmosphere as much as the event that makes these weekends so awesome. And finally thanks to our Event sponsors - Racingline motorsports. Their support is greatly appreciated and also I can happily say they have made my car damn scary fast! Thanks again everyone and we'll catch yoy again in November!
  7. The transmax z is my secret. The getrag in the R34 GTR uses the same oil as the main gearbox oil - and the getrag in the R34 is for all intesive pruposes the same gearbox as used in the TT Supra - and the Supra people over in the US were kind enough to tell us that the Toyota V106 and the Nissan what ever it is - is just Castrol Transmax Z rebadged.
  8. Yes - I have seen James on the track at Winton. And he was quicker than most there that day I will admit.
  9. Cool - so Franz for something like Classic Perth they'd be a good tyre? I was looking at the for Dutton and even the circuit stuff at that event is only 2 laps (with only a half lap warm up) so something that comes up to temp fast is perfect.
  10. Has anyone out there tried / used the Toyo R888 semi comps? And if so how do they stack up against the more commonly used semi's? I've used: Bridgestone RE55's - which I find to be the best sprint and motokhana semi comp in that they have great dry grip and come up to temp quickly. My only complaint is that they do tend to go off quite quickly so are struggling by the 3rd flying lap around places like PI. Dunlop DZ02's - seemed to have the same grip as the RE55's but took a lot longer to get upto to temp. However they didn't seem to drop off in performance like the Bridgestones. But consequently not as good for the short / quick stuff as the Bridgestones. Adavan A048's - seemed less grippy than both the RE55's and DZ02's and only got worse (harder) with each heat cycle. Apparently they are awesome in the wet and would probably be a great Targa tyre but my experience would say they are not the best semi for sprints or motokhana/autocross events. But I'd really like some feedback on the Toyo's if anyone has used them. Cheers.
  11. The Aussie Racing Car driver James Ward is quite a good little steerer. Shame thats not the James Ward doing Dutton.
  12. I think we need to work out how to put a jump on the skidpan so we can get some cool hang time shots. I wonder how balanced the GTR's would be in the air??
  13. Russ, Blew a cooler pipe off and the resulting fireball out the exhaust set the rear bar on fire for a few secs. Nothing too serious and other than asthetics the car is all ok. Infact it's pretty good now - would like to have gone head to head with you down here but I see you guys aint on the list. I take it that means you can't make it? There's a few regulars missing this time actually.
  14. Back Way = fun drive. Hume = quicker (unless you live north eastish)
  15. well mines named after a fire breathing, money hoarding monster and no-one has been good enough to find out what sex it is.

  22. Geez - now that I've seen the entry list it seems my initial thoughts were right.....
