  1. L2S - $85. Speak to Chris.
  2. *sigh* - why don't you read everything in the first post again.....
  3. I'll be honest and say I guessed. I figued if in doubt pick R33 GTST and I'd have a 99% chance of being correct! LOL
  4. Haha - what V8's? Which month are you in?? We missed that event due to lack of spots. Get with the times!
  5. I was planning on staying at the track (if you read my first post as I said too). Mostly because it is nice - it's obvuously close - and the cars will all be safe.
  6. Hey guys - just thought I'd post this up here for those that don't search around all the other forums (I'm mean who does!?) Us Vic guys - being the fastest SAU Club in Oz - have decided to have a Road Trip to NSW to conquer a few new tracks - namely Wakefield and Eastern Creek. Unfortunetly there isn't an opportunity to do this over a weekend so we have found a calander in Novemeber where we can fit these tracks in over the week of November 7-11. There is already some interest from Bunta and Russ (giant) to come and have a play with us so anyone else interested in coming along is more than welcome. The plan is to mainly meet up with the NSW guys at Wakefield on the Wed as EC can only gaurentee us 30 places for the Friday - so that is being saved for us Vics and any QLD guys interested. Having said that we already have around 16 guys from Vic on the list coming up - and there are some seriously fast cars coming along too. Since most of you here will know giant - in the last head to head last year with a couple of the guys down here Franks car was over 3s per lap faster than gaints around Winton - and Franks is only the 3rd quickest of the cars coming. So if you are interested please let me know to reserve your spot ASAP. The full details for the trip are: 1. Tuesday 7th November - Drive to Goulbourn/Wakefield Accommodation - Wakefield Park Cabins - $50pp/pn - includes breakfast (2 nights) 2. Wednsday - Wakefield Park Cost - $90 Require - Wakefield Park License (Cost $40pa) 3. Thursday - Cruise to Sydney via twisties (Brisby Route) Accommodation - Sydney - TBA (2 nights) 4. Friday 10th November - Eastern Creek Cost - $120 Require - CAMS L2S Limit: - 30 places (first in best dressed) Please fill out the following disclaimer before coming to the event. http://www.eastern-creek-raceway.com/pdf/I..._Disclaimer.pdf 5. Saturday 11th November - Cruise Home A link to the Vic discussion of this trip can be found at: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=125211 Cheers.
  7. Att Benno - when you read this can you speak to Sam and see if he's interested in coming along as well as I don't have any contact details for him. Cheers.
  8. Ok - it's back on. Eastern Creek have agreed to give us 30 places for L2S guys for the day. This will be done through SAU so if you want in you'll have to let me know to reserve you spot in the 30 places. Big thanks to Bris go out for his outstanding negotiating skills in getting this arranged. I'll update the first post in this thread with all the details for the events being covered on this trip. Now that we have all the tracks sorted the plan is for a cruise up on Tuesday - do Wakefield on Wed - do Brisby's special Woolongong cruise on Thursday through the hills - Eastern Creek on Friday and then head home on Saturday. Currently the plan is to spend Tues / Wed nights at Wakefield and then Thurs/Friday nights in Syd. We are still sorting the accommodation details for Sydney. But as I said I'll post up everything you'll need to know in the original post.
  9. I was going to speak to Russ once everything was sorted as he knows a few of us from the Dutton last year obviously. Also John - have already lined up Ignition DVD to come to the event. We know Andrew from Ignition and he's keen to set it up. He'll be bringing his 200sx and maybe some other "fast" cars along too.
  10. From everything I've heard about it's basically going to be about here on the map right? If so there sure is going to be one or two quickish bits!
  11. Yep we might all be owing Brisby a beer because he may have convinced the people at Eastern Creek to let us on with an L2S. We'll know for sure tomorrow.
  12. BTW - if this ends up falling through there is something else I'll be doing a few weeks later instead. It won't be for as many people - probably more the hardcore guys only - and doesn't have EC - but it will still be good.
  13. Yeah look to be honest I'm not willing to pay $500+ just to get a license to do a few laps around Eastern Creek either. I got the PC and the Rally license prices confused (Rally license is $140 - with your $85 L2S redeemable against it). We've written Eastern Creek an email asking if we can get 1 or 2 sessions per cycle on the day set aside for L2S guys so we'll see what they come back with. Brisby has been to one of these days with just an L2S as he was basically the only car there. I'm hoping that if we can promise them 10-20 cars they will be willing to accommodate us. I'll keep you all informed.
  14. Further to this I've now been informed that the date for this will be Dec 2nd and 3rd and will involve a minimum of 4 runs per day and will cost aorund $1K to enter. Will be Dutton Rally regs too - so LS2, normal sprint track regs (no cage etc) and no navigator.
  15. *sigh* There is a reason why NSW holds the mardi-gras every year. It seems that to get onto Eastern Creek we need a PC CAMS license (formally known as the C3 license). This is not just for their open days but for their super sprints as well. They do have "Open Days" for L2S guys but I've been reliably informed that we'd kicked off for running the speeds some will be doing. So that puts a thorn my plans. Before we completely call an end to this however there may be a solution. It's possible we can arrange for someone to be at Wakefield on the Wed beforehand to test us for the PC license. I'll get back to everyone when I know more.
  16. Bris - Chris and I are investigating some form of timing system to work with light beams and a lap-top. A guy in QLD has one working pretty sweet apparently so we'll see what comes of that. But one way or the other even though these are just "Open Days" we will have some timing systems for everyone available on the day.
  17. Ok - I think most will be keen to make it Tuesday depart so we'll work off that for now.
  18. Ok - since this is really taking off I have another question for everyone. How many people want to do the hill climb and how many would rather just do the 2 track days? The reason being is that obviously the weekend of the 4-5 does have MAS + also that weekend the club has also been looking at doing a seperate Road Trip to the Great Alpine Road in conjunction with the WRX Club. So instead of driving up on the Saturday and staying 7 nights in NSW we could drive up on the Tuesday and just stay 4 nights. Then if anyone wants to do MAS they can then meet us on the Tuesday - or if anyone wants to play up the hills for a few days then we have a large chunk of the drive to NSW already done come Tuesday. Or we can just stick to the plan. Thoughts?
  19. Brisby - if you read my very first post you will see that this is the Eastern Creek Day we are doing.....
  20. As stated we will be holding some photshop lessons - so if you have a laptop with photoshop bring it along and follow along and then you too can ejoy having fun with the President.
  21. I'll put you down as a yes Arch. You know you want to come!
  22. Yep I've been thinking the same thing Benno. Basically last time I towed the car because I new the engine was on its last legs but if the car is fine there is no reason to fork out the extra $$$ for trailers and the extra $$$ needed in fuel (towing costs way more in fuel than just driving). Doesn't help Ray but for most I reckon we Road trip it for sure.
  23. That sucks Niel. But I'm glad to hear you are ok though. The first thing I did on the drive up to Sydney when I got the wobbles was stop and check the tyre pressures and they were all fine. The wobbles tend to come on during a down-hill section where the trailer trailer tries to go faster than the car. This is made worse when the tow car is lighter than what is being towed (which is consequently why it's against the law to do it in Vic).
  24. I got the wobbles pretty bad a couple of times when I towed mine to Sydney. But that was on the way up when I didnt have the trailer brake set right. Once that was right all was good for the drive home.
  25. And damn ace at that.
