    Car Trailer

Anyone know of a car trailor I can borrow for a week to drive my car upto Wakefield?
  2. Hey Russ is Mark coming or just yourself? And what are these "cabins"you speak of? I'm going to need somewhere to stay so if we can stay in the same place that'd be tops.
  3. Bris - looks like Wakefield is open for practise on the Wed. Since I've never seen the track before I might head up on the Tuesday now. Just have to try and source a trailer and see if I can get the leave passes then it'll be on. Might try and get Chris and entry too. He did just come 2nd in the Calder Rally Masters so he should be good enough. I'm sure he'll be faster than any Zeds there.
  4. Did anyone get the name of the guy and a contact number from Autosalon? I'm thinking of changing my mind.... Its 724km's from my place to Wakefield. I reckon I could drive up Wed - do this Thurs and drive back Friday and GP on Sat and Sun. Now that the 300 is in I really want to come. LOL
  5. sif. This is Autosalon. Its ALL about the show.
  6. Russ - you suck. Your car is way too fast now. Anyways - back on topic - Autosalon just called me to say I was in and that it is on Thursday March 30th. I had to tell them I couldn't make it due to Grand Prix commitments. He did go on to tell me that they would be holding another one later in the year however and I'll get an invite to that. Hopefully it's not on AFL Grand Final day or something.
  7. Graeme - 260/9.15 poncam int and ex. They are tops.
  8. Hey Graeme - off topic - but what are the chances we can get a day out at Atwood one day?? We always have to race that short track as part of the Dutton Rally and I must say I find it one of the most fun events of the whole rally.
  9. Where do we find this Motorsports News Greg?
  10. What tyres was that on Russ?
  11. http://sau.tharaka.net/ for more vids. I wasn't suggesting you could drive that well just now but I was just saying that motokhana's are a good place to start. Doing them well takes some driving.
  12. I can't claim that as my trick. Jeff taught me that one. You can learn a lot from these old fella's if you spend enough time with them.
  13. Or even somewhere like Bunnings maybe or paint supply shops?
  14. I don't know if you have seen any of the SAU motokhana video's? If not - watch this one. http://sau.tharaka.net/ScotsmanWangBusta1.wmv If you can do a motokhana as good as that I can tell you there isn't much you won't be able to do in a car. Karting is a great place for teaching you race track lines and how to "race" but motokhana's are a great place to teach you how to steer good.
  15. Yeah last weekend showed some very suprising results. The Calder Rally Masters (which is basically a mini-Dutton type of event) had Scotsman and I up against one of the Road Touring Rally guns - Jeff Beaumont in his EVO VI. This guy won the 2005 GP Rally in this car and when teamed up with Peter Gazard should have won the 2005 Dutton Vic - except for a mistake on the 2nd last event that cost them 90 points (got beaten by 37 points in the end so....). But on the weekend both Scotsman and I were able to beat Jeff in a number of events. Suprisingly they were on the slower - tighter motokhana events rather than the speed events. But it did show we were able to be very competative against the best of these Road Touring guys in a Skyline. And consider both of our cars run full interiors and Scotsmans GTR still runs a stock engine with stock turbo's and just has an exhaust, ECU, cam gears and nicely set-up suspension there is no reason why you can't go out and be competative in these events in any skyline. (for reference Scotsman and I came 2nd and 3rd outright in the event at Calder just behind Jeff in the EVO).
  16. Don't be completely suprised if there is another one before the years end. There is no reason it only needs to be an annual event. Basically they have the facilities and the costs mean they could easily run more than 1.
  17. Yeah and you heard about it and thats why you joined the committee.
  18. MPH was 117.
  19. Geoff - please stop being a dick. If you don't want to go don't go. Don't express your views on behalf of the club. Unless you want to come take over my job then you can express to your hearts content. I reckon I might even come along to this event and see if I can get that 11. It seems this drag racing thing is something I need to learn to do better incase I find myself needing to do it again one day. Ben - what happens is so far my best time is a 12.0? Do i get to nominate for the 12.00-12.99 bracket??
  20. I think there were 3 cars that ran an 11.7. The purple GTR from MPC just pipped out Beaumont in the EVO and the mustang I think. And I think the other 2 GTR's ran 11.8's. But there were 5 cars in the 11's and the Porsche Turbo ran a 12.00.
  21. 9762 9421 Remember it's a public holiday in Vic today.
  22. Hey all, It was a good weekend all in all. Great people at the event all weekend and a great experience getting to do some new things in the car. I know I'd sure love another crack at that Thunderdome. That was an experience. All the NDSOC guys, the 300zx guys, all the guys and cars out of the MPC workshop, and everyone else we spent the weekend with were fantastic. Big well done to Scotsman on coming 2nd considering there were 5 GTR's in the event and Chris's easily had the least amount of work done to it. No mistakes made and on the last event when he had to beat me he came through with the goods. And well done to Brisby for being at least half decent in the navigating job. Unlike some people..... The one thing for me the weekend has really showed is how much our DECA weekends have improved the driving skills of both Chris and I. Basically in the drag race event I was only the 7th fastest car (12.0) and Chris the 9th fastest (12.4) - including us both being comfortably beat by Geoff in the EVO but in the tighter motokhana stuff Chris and I were able to win events. So it really has shown that learning the driving skills is more important than HP. And if we can just make our cars go as fast in a straight line as those pesky cheater EVO's we might be able to cause even more troubles in the future. But hopefully this is an event that can be improved upon and developed further in the future as it was good fun but with a lot more potential possible - and priced to be accessable to pretty much everyone. And remember "Teh GT-R can Nevar Lose!" (except to those pesky Evo's)
  23. Yeah Greg would definitely need to be at least down to 10ths. 1s is just too much.
  24. Well there is still no word on an entry price for spectators. Although we have been allocated 2 wrist bands each for people to enter so it does suugest maybe there will be an entry fee. As a side note - apparently the Police have entered a BF Falcon in the competition. Hope that doesn't lead to defects! LOL
  25. Just ask Gareth (but at least it was on a race track!)
