Well after 9 months and 7 rounds of Motorsports and 29 competitors the final results for the 2006 SAU Vic Club Championship have been decided. A big thanks must go to the WRX Club for putting on a great series of events and for allowing our club to participate with them through-out the year. It was a lot of fun (with a few exceptions - Al, Gareth and Mark!) and very closely contested. All the awards will be presented at our November Club night. Hopefully we'll see another big turn out of competitors for 2006. The full round details are available in the members section. Overall Name Rnd 1 Rnd 2 Rnd 3 Rnd 4 Rnd 5 Rnd 6 Rnd 7 Total Udjusted Total (Best of 6 Rounds) Andrew Richmond 10 10 6 10 10 10 10 66 60 Anthony Snelling 10 10 10 10 6 10 56 56 Chris Thompson 3 3 10 4 4 6 6 36 33 Troy Brisby 4 6 6 6 22 22 Andrew Dean 6 10 6 22 22 Roy Cushan 6 6 4 4 20 20 Aaron Ponozza 6 6 6 18 18 Gareth Evens 6 10 16 16 William Li 4 6 3 13 13 Denahm Melder 3 3 6 12 12 Steven Walton 4 6 10 10 Ryan Bell 6 4 10 10 Nigel Beale 10 10 10 Alan Calleja 10 10 10 Peter Blythe 10 10 10 Archie Sarantis 6 4 10 10 Scott Bailey 4 6 10 10 Koah Nguyen 6 4 10 10 Jarrod Moore 4 4 8 8 Jack Blanas 4 2 2 8 8 Wayne Sterling 4 4 8 8 David Johnstone 6 6 6 Rianto Soputro 6 6 6 Aaron Miles 4 4 4 Jeff Beable 4 4 4 Anthony Nowlan 4 4 4 Drew Jorganson 3 3 3 Tom Giordano 3 3 3 Robin February 1 1 1 Class A - Modified 4WD Name Rnd 1 Rnd 2 Rnd 3 Rnd 4 Rnd 5 Rnd 6 Rnd 7 Total Andrew Richmnd 10 10 6 10 10 10 10 66 Chris Thompson 3 10 4 4 6 6 33 Aaron Ponozza 6 6 6 18 Archie Sarantis 6 4 10 Roy Cushan 4 4 8 Jack Blanas 4 2 2 8 Jeff Beable 4 4 Drew Jorganson 3 3 Robin February 1 1 Class B - Standard 4WD Name Rnd 1 Rnd 2 Rnd 3 Rnd 4 Rnd 5 Rnd 6 Rnd 7 Total Andrew Dean 6 10 6 22 Roy Cushan 6 6 12 Khoa Nguyen 6 4 10 Aaron Miles 4 4 Class C - Modified 2WD Name Rnd 1 Rnd 2 Rnd 3 Rnd 4 Rnd 5 Rnd 6 Rnd 7 Total Troy Brisby 4 6 6 6 22 Gareth Evens 6 10 16 Denahm Melder 3 3 4 10 Nigel Beale 10 10 Alan Calleja 10 10 Wayne Sterling 4 4 8 Steven Walton 6 6 Class D - Standard 2WD Name Rnd 1 Rnd 2 Rnd 3 Rnd 4 Rnd 5 Rnd 6 Rnd 7 Total Anthony Snelling 10 10 10 10 6 10 56 William Li 4 6 3 13 Ryan Bell 6 6 12 Scott Bailey 4 6 10 Peter Blythe 10 10 Jarrod Moore 4 4 8 David Johnstone 6 6 Rianto Soputro 6 6 Anthony Nowlan 4 4 Steven Walton 4 4 Tom Giordano 3 3 Chris Thompson 3 3 Cheers Snowy.

Rear Wings And Track Work
Snowman replied to INASNT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Mate - I've made no adjustments to my wing. Its in the position it was when I purchased the car. LOL Chris was supposed to experiment with the wing a fortnight ago at Phillip Island but that intake pipe was cracked and he spent all day looking for the cause of the oil all over his car rather than getting to experiment with the wing. We are due to go back to Phillip Island in December so the plan is to go and experiemnt with the wing then. -
Rear Wings And Track Work

Denham - from what I understand from the basic's of the dynamics of the wings you won't really get any difference in rear end traction coming out of corners - especially slower corners. What you will get is rear in traction in the faster sweepers say at places like Phillip Island and the kinks at Sandown. But speaking to Steven on Saturday at Calder he was saying that the big wing he's now stuck on his 550 has given him noticable more stability in the high speed braking area's. I can't tell you how that should help but that was his feedback. -
He should NOT be given the drive. Its a farce. But it seems he's not the only Son of a World Champion being given a drive simply because his dad runs the team. Niki Lauda's son doesnt seem to be doing much better for Austria. But if Will Power doesn't drive for the rest of the season then I hope no-one sponsors these knob jockies until they decide to take it seriously.

Yeah Maserati Club is for over-paid poofs that wear womens panties on their heads. (Thank god my car doesn't need any work on it for a little while!)
-
He is on the forums - mutex - but doesn't post much (10 posts in 2.5 years!) But as mentioned he's a NDSOC member. He was planning on running some more with us this year but has had some troubles with the car. And it was a great shame to see another car visit the wall. Hardly his fault either - Calder is a nasty track when wet as we found out earlier this year. Is why I sure wasnt going to go out once the rain started and why the track was quickly closed after Marks incedent. Blaise - your so going down at DECA. Thats where I'll have my revenge. But that super sprint was heaps of fun - if only you could brake propperly you'd have killed me because there's only 1/2 a car difference between us on the straight strangely enough, and your certainly faster through the first and last corners.

Grant - yes it did. Previous owner. Cheers.
-
BTW - manage 13 - your racepace details are wrong. Its 9/6 not 6. But anyways.....

Well since it seems your so hard up you can only get your jollies from looking at pictures of other blokes chicks rather than appreciating the cars which this event was about - here's a picture of Adz so you can admire his cans. Try and keep your excitement in check this time.

Appologies for the names I got wrong in my initial post - I was dead tired when I typed it up last night. Will fix them up now. Great pics everyone too.

Hey guys, Quickly on behalf of the SAU Vic committee I'd just like to say a huge thank-you for the turn-out and support today. Easily the biggest turn out of people for an event in the 12 months we have been in existance. All the cars looked great and it was especially pleasing to see so many new or non-regular faces. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. Anyways.... a quick run down on the winners for the day. Best R32. 1. Michael - Nismo32 2. Greg - Tubro X 3. Patric - Ocean Best R33. 1. Nathan - GTIARR 2. Golgo - Jamezilla 3. Natasha - MissRB25DET Best R34 1. Clayton - clayoth 2. SMAUG - Snowman 3. Adz - Adzmax Best Non-Line 1. Craig - J-Spec (Silver Celsior) 2. Dane - phunky monkey - Widebody S13 3. Justine - MissJuz - Blue S15 Best 31 Um.... they must have all got lost. Anyways - was a great showing by everyone and so far Tharkra and Joel some great pictures too. James has pcitures of every car and is looking to make a little screen-saver from the day with it so stay tuned. Cheers. Snowy

not tunable - supposed to send it (with the car) back to mines for a new ecu. I sold my mines ecu from memory for about $250.
-
Either Way - on the streets the HA's even at the softest setting are still pretty hard with the standard springs so just be aware of that.
-
Hung - to us Skyline people a Skyline is a Skyline too. But a GTST is single turbo RWD and a GTR is AWD twin turbo so they are nothing alike other than the saucers. I'm sure given the current WRX Club trend you'll end up buying a skyline in the near future and then maybe you'll understand the difference.
-
Entry is on the day. And Joel of coarse you are welcome.
-
Yep - Mark Pether is a black R34 GTT as well - not a GTR as listed. I don't know - I think these rex guys just like to list the RWD Skylines as GTR's so if they beat you they can feel good about themselves. Sif a rex could beat a GTR. (Full race going versions with slicks not included Clayton! lol)

Thats fine!

Car will be parked on the grass. And that includes competitors and general visitors. The area is HUGE so we'll have a section for competiton cars and another for general parking. When you arrive someone will be at the entrance to direct you where to park. Be good to have all competitors there by 1:00pm.

Stonington Council decided on Monday to cancel our application for the use of Como Oval due to fears of destroying the grass to due recent rain (what rain???) Last night James and I went with these guys to 6 different alternate locations. Its been narrowed down to 2 venues that is being decided based upon whether there is a game of cricket this Sunday at one of them. We find out this morning. Full details and maps will be posted by lunch time today and all members will recieve and email shortly afterwards with details as well. Sorry for the stuff around - feel free to ring Stonington and cry at them because Como oval was a perfect location!

The new owner of this car.... Its so sweet in the flesh.
-
Ruffles you sure can. I know of one car that probably will win his catagory thats doing the same thing!

Bump - (incase anyone is interested!)

This series is so cool. They have a 30HP "boost" button that they can use upto 8 times a race. So straight out of PS2. Brands Hatch probably isnt the best track to show the benifits of a boost button but the concept for increasing overtaking opportunities is brilliant. Already looking forwards to the next race.

It shouldn't be - its already showing its banana.
