  1. Updated Winton time - 4.5s off my previous PB to a 1.35.2. Very happy. (updated original post) Mostly due to upgraded brakes and modified transfer case. Anyone with a GTR that's keen on track work the upgrades to the transfer case is one of the best mods I have ever done to my car.
  2. Well that was another great weekend away. It's not been really spoken of yet but the actual track stuff was great too. Good work by some of the newbie's - William and Mavric. Matt if you can learn to drive like your teacher in Brisby then we'll all have plently of entertainment to watch in the future. Was happy to help Blaise get the new WRX Club SM club track record by towing him along. Also since I let my co-driver for Dutton have a number of sessions of the weekend in my car was pretty good to see at the end of it we both recorded the same fastest time for the weekend! For me that was 4.5s faster than my previous best there. Hopefully even more to come after the new springs go in on Wed. But fark me Frank was fast. And it was damn funny to look at Aaron after his session in Franks car. He was struggling to get a cigarette out of the packet as his hands were shacking! LOL. But I'm lucky the sessions of these boys in their co-drivers cars don't count else my finishing spot would be dropped from 2nd to 4th! Oh - and speaking of co-drivers - 2 WRX boys are also doing Dutton next week. At the end of the day one of the co-drivers took the car for a drive and tried to keep pace with Blaise. Bad idea. But once the sun went down the shenannigans were typicially brilliant. Benallia Wang Bangers are going to be a long term problem I can foresee. Anyways.... time to re-group and think about Dutton next weekend. Bring it on.
  3. Yeah I swap em all the time - apparently the "side specific" factor is only relevant to driving in the wet. I even run them backwards in the dry without any noticable difference.
  4. Yeah I just tried to find it an hour ago - the search didn't work for me! So I just looked up Donellans in the phone book.
  5. Aaron, Last time we all just had dinner at the Victoria Hotel on the Friday night (where we are staying - see post #3 of this thread). If you like just give me a buzz when you want to catch up - I'll be up there from early on Friday as we are doing the practise day.
  6. Shaun - you sure can spectate (for free!) I'll put up a post next week for exact times. Will get the final offical timetable next Tuesday then will make a new post in the main Vic section.
  7. You sure you didn't lose all that money behind the bar Brisby? :alcoholic:
  8. Yes, Yes he is.
  9. That's where we go for dinner Saturday night Brisby. Friday night is parma at home then upstairs to watch the Saints destroy the Pies! Go Saints!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Anyways - to answer the question we'll probably eat at the pub we are staying at on Froday night - The Vic is it? The parma there is pretty good.

    Help Me!!!!

Walk out the front of Flinders St Station, Look for a Yellow Taxi, Get in and Say "Casino". Too Easy.
  12. Hang on - this is a car club isn't it? And the cool thing about cars I find is that you can drive them. But despite this I'm constantly amazed by the number of people that complain about having to drive to DRIVE to a CAR meet!
  13. Had a brief look through this when I got home last night. Looks great Joel - and I'm really glad to see a great mix of cars in the shots. The one of the lines through the twisties looks awesome. Thanks again mate - we owe you a beer on Tuesday night!
  14. Updated above post with forum user names - so people can put faces to names on here! And plates for the relevant cars as well. Big thanks to Joel for the shoot - was a tops day. Very sad to see the magazine finish up.
  15. If interested still I have a set of Tein HA's just come off my car (with springs). HA's are height and damper adjustable. $1K.
  16. Pfft - the only thing that Budge bloke could beat me at is an ugly competition.
  17. Hey all, I'm back from my holiday and I'm all pumped up for a couple of big week's of motorsport. Admitidly I have no idea what condition my car is in right now but hopefully it's all sweet and ready to go. And I can't wait to test it out at Winton this weekend. Is there anyone other than me, Chris, Geoff and Jack driving skylines this week at this event?? Anyways - some other news for this event is Allan Simonsen will be there in a Ferarri. For those that don't know who that is he used to drive the Green Coopers 575 that was in the Procar series last year. He also ran last year at the Maserati Club Winton day in a Rarri and ran a 1.28! Thats crazy fast.
  18. We're coming.... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=78697
  19. Unfortunately the Bayside Blue ones have already sold out due to popular demand......
  20. Brisby - me and Irish are heading up for the open practise day on the Friday since the the padi-wan needs some time behind the wheel of the dragon before Dutton. Since your a bum you can come up with me if you like on Friday morning.
  21. Pete, I'll just add my 2c on the getrag 6 speed. As Troy mentioned I busted mine (twice!) and they are damn expensive things to repair. Luckily I have a handy man in the area to help me out and keep costs down a touch. But I can also tell you that the gears themselves are strong as. And for dragging purposes I don't see them as a real weakness compared to track purposes. Both times I've wrecked mine have been on a big down-shift. Not an up-shift. Because its not the main gear teeth that gets broken - its the TINY shift drum locater teeth on the side of the gears. Basically when going from low rpm to high rpm on a down shift on the track the synchro's struggle a bit if you try and engage gears too early and can easily knock the ends of those teeth off. (When I say engage I simply mean clutch in and just positioning the gear leaver into whatever gear - not even engaging the clutch) If that happens forget getting the car into that gear above 3,500rpm. Having said all that I've now consequently modified my down-shifting habbit's and the box has stood up well to a lot of abuse so far this year (touch wood!!) Sorry for the hijack.
  22. Make that 8 GTR's. 2 x 32, 4 x 33 and 2 x 34's. The funny thing is there are only 8 Class A cars as well. So really its class GTR.
  23. Yep its full and "apparently" has a waiting list. Mind you they also said they were 100% capping this years entries to 80 but there's currently 95 so...
  24. Just received the final entry list (Event now full with 95 cars!) Looks like 7 GTR's to help fly the flag. Also a very scary pairing of Dean Evans and Warren Luff. At the moment they are listed to drive TBA - so lets hope its a Sportivo Corrolla or something!
