  1. Yep - semi's are cheater tyres. Also - several of those guys were running cheater turbo's. Look at the biggest cheater of them all however - he also has cheater brakes, cheater bonnet, cheater wing, even cheater fuel! But god dammit - I hope one day I can cheat as good as he does.
  2. What are you talking about Al? I wear my black long sleave SAU t-shirt to every track day!
  3. haha - Geoff - you looked like you were going to burst when that TVR drove up! LOL My time improved to 1.25.7. Going to be knocked off from 1st spot though. We all just better hope Ben never finds this thread or else the rest of us will look so crap! LOL.
  4. Gojira - you were there? Where you running?? If so which car were you in? There were SO many skylines there! LOL. Was great.
  5. Ah Ni - PIARC = Phillip Island Automotive Racing Club
  6. The next track day being discussed is the PIARC weekend on Nov 13-14. This is a good one for track newbies as the Sat is a non-timed "practise" day - instructors available on the day and instead of 3 flying laps is done in 20min sessions so you get a better feel for the track before you get kicked off. Then the Sunday is a proper Sprint Day just like the Maserati Club was.
  7. Nice pics guys! (only took 30mins for this page to load! ) Was such an awesome day. Weather was great, turn out of both guys competiting and also guys coming to support from SAU and FA's amazing. Times were super impressive (I'm going to have to get off my ass and get moving now!). I hope they sort out the timing issues on the last session for Benno cause on 2 stop watches he ran a low 1.15s lap and thats is just farken amazing. Next fastest car was 6s slower. Also - considering the cars that were there - someone was saying that out of the top 10 fastest cars 9 of the were GTR's. The SAU track newbies were doing a super job. This includes the DAMN supra (he is a SAU VIC member afterall!) - it did look and sound awesome on the track. The newbie GTST guys were sure having fun at the end of the day too.
  8. I'd say his mate with the teg is getting there early and saving him room (thats my guess anyways)
  9. BTW - Guys. At Sandown they have limitted parking along the pit lane. This is easily the best place to park for the day. So if you want a spot on pit lane you will have to get there early. 8:00am at the latest.
  10. Last maserati day they were giving blue triangles out for free.
  11. Its a free service done at any fire exquipement service place. They just hit it with a mallet and say - yep thats all good and tag it.
  12. I get mine stamped in Moorabin just around the corner from ice. United Fire Equipment 68 Levanswell Rd Moorabin.
  13. BTW guys - the good man Ash will be setting up a BBQ for the SAU guys on Sunday. There will be cheap cans of drink and sausages to buy off him (there is no-where to get fed there otherwise). But if you want something a little more exiting than just a sausage then you will have to bring it along yourself - I'm giving Ash a steak to cook up for me

    GT Wing

Yeah I knew that the angle had to be increase. Again one of the reasons I wanted to buy a GT Wing and use the uprights rather than make something is I'm expecting that the pre-made GT-Wings already have the ideal angles for their given heights considered. But yeah you will notice all of the replacement taller uprights for the stock R34 wing also increase the angle from what you have already stated - flat. Around Phillip Island my car felt pretty good - but around Sandown my car is a lot more taily. Understeer isn't really an issue for me. I'm hoping these new suspension adjustment with help a lot but I can't help but think a little extra rear down force wouldn't be benificial. BTW - Geoff - you got your new wing on yet?

    GT Wing

No I'm not doing it on the advise of Ben. I'm not doing it on the advice of Ice. I'm not doing it on the advice of ANYONE. I'm doing it simply to annoy Scotsman. Gotta stay one step ahead of the competition.

Yeah my car is SUPPOSED to have undertrays - but they'd all been smashed off (or sold off) before I got the car. And the cost of replacing them is hideous. They are only supposed to be benificial for really high speed corners - so might be helpfull around Phillip Island.

Everything about that upright looks good - except for the base. Looks like its just glued on! And that scares the crap outta me! LOL. Check out the c-west design. Very sturdy uprights and as you can see a large area where the base fixes - similar in area to the R34 stock ones you can see in the mines extensions above.
  18. Centreline
  19. Yeah but I did the maserati day earlier this year - and there was 2 passenger sessions.

Sounds good Pete - I sent you a PM anyways. But I guessed that "before Sunday" would be dreaming.

    GT Wing

Yeah my biggest concern about getting something MADE is having the wing fall off under load down the main straight of Phillip Island. What I want to do will put greater pressure on the wing - which it why I really want to look the uprights before I buy them. The stock wing is quite big and I think it would do a fantastic job on the track if it was just at a more useable height.
  22. 2 passengers session. Only allowed 1 passenger in the car however.

Are those prices for real???? But yeah you have the idea of what I want to do - raise the height of my stock wing. But thanks - I knew those extension exisited but we couldn't find out WHO made them. But for those prices forget it. I'd rather buy a whole c-west wing and have the choice of using the whole wing or just the uprights - and I'd still be saving money.

Anyone know where in Vic you can buy GT Wings. I don't want one from a mate oversea's - or from a mate interstate. I want to LOOK at one first - mostly cause its the uprights I'm interested in.
  25. Denham - it will be open on Sunday yes. (well it normally is anyways). And before anyone ELSE asks - my passenger seat is full and a waiting list is several miles long incase one of the current participants can't make it.
