  1. I use the Castrol SRF. Its (apparently) the best - but will send you broke. Most of the guys use the Motul Dot 5.1. The only adverse effect I know about high quality brake fluids is the lightening of the wallet effect. I stand to be corrected on this however.
  2. Whats the price difference between the numbers we have now and 10? Would have like this installed before Oct 24th.
  3. I wouldn't follow this bet through mate. Cause firstly - I don't have second gear and its kinda handy at this track. And secondly - me and Emre have a side bet going on who can drive the slowest and I may be struggling to break the 2min barrier just to win the little contest I have with him. haha.
  4. Then buy a GTR you goose. (I'm loving this word today! lol)
  5. hahahahahaha........ Roy you are always changing your mind and trying to get out of what you actually said (abiet most often in a drunken state). Fristly - lets talk about the GTR. Your words when you first enounted RB20 problems and you talked about putting an RB26 in it. I said you should get a GTR and your response was "I don't want a GTR cause there's no skill involved in driving one fast - even though I've never tried to drive one fast before". Now Sandown - this big joke all started from you coming straight out and saying you think a 1.25 should be easy based upon the GTP cars. My answer has been and will still be until proven wrong that Sandown is an odd track where dropping time off your best is a lot harder than at tracks such as Winton or Phillip Island. My response was always "I think 1.30 - 1.28 would be quite gettable but at this track its a huge effort to drop from there to 1.25's" Suddenly you are talking up the 1.35's LOL. That was never what I said you big goose. All I have said was that I think due to the design of this track its quite straight forward and you can get to a good time quickly - but talking seconds off that time its really really hard here. But again that might have been my inital observations because I have only been there when I was first learning. One way or another its going to be fun finding out whose right! haha
  6. Its ok guys - we all know we only get 4wd cars to cover our short falls as drivers. I mean anyone can drive a GTR fast. Roy tells me there's no skill at all in it anyways. But then Roy also tells me Sandown is just a drag strip (with 12 corners in it!!?) and that there's no reason a GTR should be quicker around there - just like there's no reason for them to be quicker around the Island - so we'll just have to wait and see.
  7. Roy/Ronin - Ferrodo 3000's were $280 for a set of fronts at racebrakes. The 3000's are basically the track only ones (cause they are too damn noisey otherwise) where the 2500's are the street/track comprimise. Adz - unless you get some cheaters then 1.35 is probaly right. Infact damn good. Oh hang on - your driving a RWD car. Sorry I forgot - you guys should be running the flat 1.20's thats right cause they are so much better than us poor blokes with 4wd.
  8. Yeah - the brake pads are a killer. The cost of them is why no-one in Oz stocks any. You can try ringing Wayne down in Melbourne. I know he gets 4 sets in every year for some crazy customer in Sydney that insists on using the OEM pads - he may be able to help you out. 03 9282 8707.
  9. Andrew - I feel your pain. Glad you got home ok. Unfortunately the "cheap" options are the ones that will keep coming back to haunt you. Replacing the standard box will more than likely just be a temp measure until you break it again. LOL. Thats why I am now not fixing mine until I can fix it in a way that I shouldn't be able to break it again. Unfortunately thats not cheap. (BTW - Leewah - if you read this - WTF is happening mate?)
  10. No abcent - this cruise will be open to everyone. Members only cruises will start in the new year. This will be a chance for those guys sitting on the fence on whether they want to sign up or not to come and check the club out. So if they like it they can sign up at the cruise.
  11. Fooey - at this stage we (SAU VIC) don't have any facilities to accept CC. Sorry mate.
  12. You were already invited Ni - or were you too drunk that night to remember? LOL (Last committee meeting)
  13. The White R34 would be Nick. He came on the GOR cruise earlier this year. He also has an R32 GTR resprayed in Bayside Blue.
  14. Pic of the clusters.
  15. my ass - I was 9s faster than him for the 5 laps! But just goes to show that "Mr I can't go faster than 1.52 with this set-up" infact can.
  16. I take it the dashes are taken out?
  17. Ok guys - the results are up from the HSV Day. http://www.hsvownersclub.com.au/results/ms...ip%20Island.htm I bet Scotsman enjoys those results in the supersprint! And I must say I Duncan was driving the most unusual Skyine GTR I have ever seen!
  18. Um... not yet. It's one of the things thats being worked on. I can email you one if you have an email address.
  19. Ah - you RWD boys are so entertaining.
  20. We'll also be looking for a good "photo" place as well. Our cruises aren't driving all day.
  21. Of coarse there will be - we will be stopping for lunch at Marysville. We "may" have a nice property to use as a lunch stop - otherwise we'll be sitting down at the river in Warburton. If you've never been there before its a really awesome little town. My wife loves it there!
  22. Ok, The club is up and running, the sun is out and shinning, so it's time to go on another big cruise. (About time!) The cruise will be on Saturday October 16, and we'll be heading up to Warburton. We still have to map the cruise out so once that has been done I will update this post with the final details. But you can be sure in the tradition of our previous cruises we'll find you some fantastic roads to have some fun on. Cruise Details Meeting Place and Time. Western End of the Upper Ferntree Gully Train Station Car Park. Burwood Hwy. Melways Reference: Map 74 F6. 10:30am with an expected departure time of 11:00am. This cruise is fairly long - extremely twisty in places - and the road has some sections that are VERY narrow. Consequently we will be running it at a controlled safe speed. But this is probably one of the best scenery cruises we will do through Australia's tallest forest so we'll be asking everyone to back off, relax and enjoy the drive. Please make sure that you have a FULL tank of fuel when you start. There is both Optimax and Ultimate available less that 500m from our starting point. The next available 98RON fuel will be an optimax that is about 180kms from the start of the cruise - and that is through very twisty conditions. Total distance of the cruise (back to Ferntree Gully) is about 250kms. Depending on how long we stop for lunch I expect to be back well before 5pm. Members All the members that come along - be sure to bring along your membership cards as we have the club stickers to hand out. They look fantastic. If there are guys out there that haven't joined the club and wish too - we will have membership forms available on the day. Most of the cruises for next year will be for members only.
  23. I have this problem just about every time I speak to troy! LOL He's always doing something that is way beyond my comprehension - I just have to nod and presume what he's doing is a good thing!
