Yeah but their problem is they are dealing with Queenslanders - and we all know they only run on Queensland time. It's hard to get a lot done when you have to knock off at 3pm for beer'o'clock!

Same gearbox - just a software update. But the software update is basically only in the Launch Control - so anything he says about how its heaps better in normal driving is him just being a muppet.

A bit will come from the geometry changes too. Not much has been made of it in the wider world so far but the extra castor in the 2011 would be of significant benefit in the tighter sections of that track. It would be a fair bit less push under-steery I would think.

Yeah decent semi-comps are only available in 18's and smaller at this stage. And from what I have been told recently we aren't likely to see that change any time in the near future. 18 x 10.5's all around seem to be the way forwards (with 295 rubber) - although I haven't seen any concrete agreement on whether +15 offsets are actually ok to run. Seems +22's are the more common choice - but +15's are more readily available. I'll be test fitting a set of 18 x 10.5 +15 TE37SL's to mine when I get the car back to Melbourne. But I'd be very careful about buying anything unproven. My last car set-up had 375mm brakes and I found only a very limited choice of wheels that had an internal diameter capable of clearing the brakes. Obviously the R35 set-up is 380mm so will be even worse. TE37's + LMGT4's were both ok - but for example CE28's and even standard R34 GT-R rims were not.

I remember being in the sad bus with Bill Pye in 2009 (Wrestpoint) and he was telling us he'd spent over $350K on building that thing of his. Was quite scary. And then you see some of them builds like Coads HQ or Bana's EB and there is just so much coin in them too.

Well he's just moved to QLD - and he's told me its silver so maybe!? Yeah I'm planning on taking a hiatus for a while. Am keen to go do this Bathurst thing in Dec that I keep hearing good things about and to have a play with Brisby in Europe in April next year so I can't see myself back in the tree's until THC 2012 at the earliest. Will no doubt come up for the THC weekend this year though for a drink or two.

Speaking of EM - there's another new kids on the block with an R34 GT-R. Tim Hendy rang me yesterday asking for some advice. He should go alright. He will be at High Country. So - who else on here is actually planned to do a Tarmac Rally in the future? Or are we all just has beens now? LOL
