  1. na - I agree with Waz - Drift is crap. GO TEAM WANG!
  2. mate - you'll be fine. Your car will be a lot quieter than a lot of the the other cars there I garantee. The +300kw GTR's dont have a problem. The '69 Mustang with the 7.0L donk thats louder than any skyline Ive heard doesnt have a problem. You wont have a problem with noise.
  3. Ni in the morning there will be 2 passenger sessions. So thats where you get to play in car camera man!.
  4. Yeah it gets worse. 7 of those 10 have aftermarket turbo's! All making over 300 at the wheels. LOL. The last Maserati Day I went to I left thinking "I need more boost!" I can feel that thought coming on again! LOL.
  5. This is the harness I want.
  6. Marcus - I gave up trying to find someone that did track day insurance. Lots of companies used to insure cars for track days (like Shannons) - but apparently even at stupid values like $500 for the day they were still losing money cause people were like, "I don't know if I can go around this corner at the speed - but the cars insured so I may as well give it a go!".................. BANG! As for getting 20 cars - well there will almost certainly be 3 more GTR's there. Benno, Crazy Tony and Tim (RBSleepR) - these guys usually fill 3 of the top 5 fastest times on the day so I think we should claim them as our own! LOL. And we have Crazy Frank coming to the HSV day so we'll convince him to join us as well. That would then make 10 GTR's. Thats a lot of GTR's!
  7. If you want to go to the track and you want to do "reasonably" well - I'd make sure you can afford suspension and sticky tyres in your budget. But a GTR with suspension, mild performance mods (exhaust, ecu, cam gears) and sticky tires will beat 95% of all cars at a track day. If this can all be done with the R33 then I'd get that. The 33's just seem to be such a great track car. And with those mild mods still a fantastic street / weekend car.
  8. Ah yep - remember now. Vinny owns the lude not the teg. Who owns the white teg with the Red rims I see around? Is this Michael?
  9. Ok Boys and Girls - just got a call from Chris Kelly to say that the HSV day is now full again. Apparently we have our own group for the track that will also include an M3, an M5 and a couple of Porsches. He was also like "Damn you guys are fast apparently. Most of the guys are around the mid 2 minute mark with only a few at the low 2 mins." Basically no one under 2 mins.
  10. Take it down to any fire service centre - they will do it for free. I went to United Fire Equipment in Moorabin.
  11. BTW - my advice - get the RE55's (SR). Have used both the A048's and RE55's and the Bridgestones kick ass.
  12. Ok Matt (and Ni for that matter) Chasing the BEST prices for semi's is really really difficult. Because each state only has one distributor! They do this so that there isn't price competition. The Vic distributors for Dunlop, Bridgestone, Yokohama/Advan are as follows: Dunlop - Stukey Tyre Services - 828 Sydney Rd. Brunswick 3056 - PH: 9386-5331 Bridgestone - TRACKSIDE 161 Canterbury rd, Kilsyth, VIC 3137. PH: 0409 021 885 Yokohama - Traction Tyre Center - 65 Kellets Rd - Roweville - PH. 9764 2811 Apparently Meridian can get the Bridgestones - but I don't know how. The prices the NSW boys get are much better than those we get. If time isn't an issue - contact Duncan as it may be cheaper to get them sent down from Sydney.
  13. Marcus - is that Adrian aka Envious of Me aka vtml?
  14. Well Trulli has been dropped from the Ranault Team for the rest of the year. he hasnt scored a point in the last 5 races and it seems his spat with Briatori has reached breaking point. So the talk is he will be replaced by Jaques Villeneuve! He's now doing a 3 day test at Silverstone to see if he will get the drive! Man this has been a crazy season - all except for the championships.
  15. I've never met Crazy Frank before - I know he knows Emre so this will be good. Apparently my best time at PI is only 1sec or so behind Crazy Franks best - will be fun trying to match him for sure. Also - the weather looks awesome for the weekend. I was actually hoping it was going to have a couple of short showers like last time. Was fun playing with Scotsman in the rain!
  16. Or as is the case with my car - all you can hear are the tunes pumping out! LOL Bugger listening to what the car is doing - I know I much prefer to listen to some good music than say the noise of my second gear synchro dying a horrible death! But then - I am kinda insane.
  17. Ok - I want a bed! Duncan - you can meet at my house and we'll go from there - I will give you easy to follow instructions later. Remember we have Geoff and Emre on Sat night too. Shivram - your boss get in?
  18. Its ERG not ERS. Got me confused before.
  19. Ni - have you ever BEEN to a track day? If not - come down to Phillip Island on Sunday. And there you will see some if the "racecar" vechiles that aren't permitted for street driving and you will feel much better about the ceffy. Basically what they will check. 1. Steel Valve Caps. 2. Fire Extinguisher. 3. Helmet. 4. Throttle Body Return Springs (you have them already) 5. Brake lights. 6. You car is empty of loose itmes. 7. You have a competition number 8. Seatbelt/harness 9. Blue Triangle for battery. Thats about it - the whole thing takes about 2 minutes.
  20. Ok well we can add Adzmax (R34 GTT) and RedR32 (R32 GTR but its not Red - its purple so go figure) to the list - that makes 13! Lucky for some! If we include the ceffy and the Ice Supra (both entering under SAV) thats 15. Were not far off having 1/4 of the entire field! Making the SAU Track Record top 10 list suddenly got harder!
  21. You have 2 options. You can send it in anytime but if you do this you will have to wait until you get your CAMS number back in the mail. OR - if you fill it out and get me to sign it you will have a 30 day licence which will last until you get your official licence in the mail. The other advantage of this is if you do it on the date you are doing your first CAMS event you will get maximum time beinfit for your 1 years worth of licence.
  22. Nope - the ERS one is available from Meridian Motorsport for $299.
  23. Don't panic about the noise - they take the tests from 50m away. Trust me - have you ever heard a full blown 69 Mustang with a 7L Donk go past at full revs? Makes an import sound damn quiet. And there are 2 that race on these days noproblems. Basically if you have an exhaust you will be right. You won't get done for noise.
  24. Not at all. A few of us went to the last one and how it works is that they splt the session into driver only - followed by a session with passengers (you must have a passenger to get on the track) Basically they let about 50-60 cars on the track at once - as people come off they let more on until the end of the 30min session. There are cars EVERYWHERE - so its kinda fun as you just spend all lap passing people! haha. The point of the day is more aimed towards either giving people who have never been on the track before a simple and cheap oportunity and also to give regulars a chance to take their families on the track. Dispite the number of cars I had a ball there last time. It was a different track experience but still a lot of fun.
  25. Yes if we can find a few more lost drunken men who don't know where they are and no longer care then they will have our gratitude!
