Roy - you an add:
benjamin74 and Emre (the 2530 R33 GTR twins) to the list. Its going to be one hell of a skylines presence! lol
Maybe we can hold ou own track days!
Your too slow Dave. (must be that slow car you drive)
Spoke to Gerald - they are keen to have a dyno day on Sunday 17th October. Will start up a new thread with full details soon.
Ni - sounds stupid but I was told on Sunday by Ron that Autobarn currently have some FIA Approved - dated until 2009 - 3" - 4 point Harness for sale for $399 that looked really good. Can't tell you much else about them however.
Yeah Heath - I'll look into it for you. I know the boys at Ice Performance wanted to have a dyno day now that they have a dyno! I have been waiting for them to tell me when - I'll give them a kick and get one happening.
You definitely do with the C16 which is why I dont want to use it. But the elf racing fuels are not so bad. They have both the elf LMS which is 98RON and the Tubromax which is 102RON. Both will give power increases with just the fuel - but better results can be had from tuning. Mostly due to the timing advances you can put in without getting any pinging.
Have seen 20% gains in power on both an EVO and a Soarer from using the elf fuels.
No C16 I reckon is extreme. But I'm very keen to give the Turbomax a shot. Just about every one of the winning cars at the Dutton were running on one of the elf fuels. I think I might try the Turbomax at Sandown.
Guys - dont forget we have the next Club General Meeting at the Whitehorse on Tuesday 21st September. That will be another good place for those that couldn't make it on Sunday to come down and sign up.
There were a few guys interested in attending this day yesterday.
My advise is if you wish to attend then give Chris Kelly a quick call and tell him you are from Skylines Australia. He's knows we have a bunch of guys interested and there was still room left on Friday afternoon. Tell him you will come along if its only $110.
For a HSV guy he's a damn good bloke from my dealings with him! haha. He can be contacted on the following number.
0419 003 529
If he says all is good I have the fax details that you can send your forms into. The more skylines the merrier guys!
Hey guys - fantastic turnout. Really good to see that so many people are supporting the club. A lot of stuff has gone on to get this organised and I can tell you that we really appreciate the response.
The club will only grow from here but it's strength and enjoyment will be more dependent on its members than those of us on the committee. And for me the most pleasing aspect of yesterdays club launch was the social interation between you guys. It was really good to see and it's something those of us on the committee hope to promote as a big part of this club.
Also good to see many guys interested in the CAMS side of things. If anyone wants anything further answered feel free to contact me.
Cheers guys.
Anyone that wants to come to this day but doesnt as yet have a CAMS L2S licence - let me know and I will sign you up on the day (might as well get maximum time for your CAMS $$$). If this is the case on the entry form - where it says to put in your CAMS licence number - just put in TBA.
But seriously - if you intend on coming to this event GET YOUR FORM IN NOW or you will miss out. Track days at Sandown sell out extremely fast. The last WRX Club day sold out in 3 days.
Ok guy - REALLY late notice but James has just rung me to say that where we were going to meet is TOTALLY packed due to a state swimming championship.
So we are still meeting down at Albert Park - just a little further south along the road. We'll be quite noticable from the street.
Yeah put it this way - I dont agree with it. You can go to a MSCA sprint and a guy with a stock Pulsar or an Astra Turbo is against me.
So next year we will hold a SAU VIC "Club Championship" And there will be classes to better represent our club. We won't be holding our own track days but will be doing things like going to a number of track days with invitations and we'll set up our own results.
Like the up-coming HSV day - if you dont own a Holden or Ford you are just lumped into the "accociated" class.
well lets just say there was a certain turk with aftermarket low mounts on his GTR that was in class D.
But the RB20 would still be in Class D - not Class C. When determining Classes via engine capacity - turbo cars have to multiply there capacity by a factor of 1.7 - so a 2L turbo engine = 3.4L after turbo factor is considered.
Interloper - yeah it was due to the fact that both of those guys have aftermarket turbo's plus other things where as my and the other guys cars are reasonably stock other than say suspension, ecu and exhaust.
Incase you guys didn't know yet the results from the PIARC weekend are finally up on their website.
Some interesting points:
1. They took Adz's last session off him. No 1.58 for you boy. That'll teach ya to use cheater tyres. haha.
2. BRI 58Y could only manage a best time of 2.24.52 - and he reckon's 1.25's at Sandown?
3. I do get a trophey But they expect me to get it on Grand Final weekend
Nope - you can be a member of more than one CAMS affiliated club. Just because you applied for a CAMS licence under one club doesnt mean you are just a member of that affiliated club.
