Hey guys - just my 2 cents in here. Meridian did my set-up at the start of the year (with remote filter) and it's been working great. I'm using the blue push lock hose and fittings. This stuff isn't your average garden hose style stuff and would fully recommend it to everyone. If anyone is in Melb I'm more than happy to let you check out my set-up but honestly for what this is doing braided line is a huge over kill IMO. Oil temps come up to the mid 80's very quickly but even after 30min flat out track session oil temps are staying around 110.

Ferni - our CAMS application has been approved More information in the next couple of days - but we'll be right to sign you up beforehand.

In the Dutton Rally you both drive. So we do each event twice. Its what makes the Dutton so much fun - not only get to compete against other cars but against your mate as well. There's no way I'm letting Gerald beat me in MY car! LOL.

Yeah Sunday drags will be funny considering I've never done it before! haha.

skylinesteve - what other forms of racing have you done to want to go jump straight into something like Targa Tas? If nothing then consider doing what I am before tackling Targa. There are heaps of beguiner entry events like the Dutton Rally this weekend (see my other thread). There are also events like the GP Rally which are similar. All these events you can enter with a simple L2S license and your normal street car. Still lots of fun but not the huge costs involved with Targa (Nick Eliss who won this years Targa Tas classic in an Escort said the cost to enter Targa is about $50K above the cost of your car)

Alright, A Number of people have requested an event schedule for this weekends Dutton Rally of Victoria so they can come down and watch Gerald and I have some fun. Below is a copy of the event schedule - it should be noted that on a few of the days they split the groups up into 2. If you were specifically coming down just to see us it should be noted we are number 47. Plenty of great cars to see - R32/33/34 GTRs, Supra's, STi's, RX7's and EVO 8's will lead the Jap cars against the masses of porka's (23 of them including turbo, GT2 and way too many GT3's), plus M3's, M5, as well as a nice brand new twin turbo Noble M12 GTO-3R! Plus heaps of other cars (85 all up) Drivers include V8 Supercar drivers, Targa Tas winners and place getters, Carrera Cup, and MotoGP. Should be a whole lot of fun. Troy - we didnt bother with any lap times. When you are forced to overtake 10-20 cars every lap there's no point even thinking about it.

Some Pics from Yesterday! Scotsman and I line up with some of our toughest competition. Ben is just about to give some poor guy another lession on what a GTR at full boost sounds like. Someone once called GOLGO weak. The guy in the green Gemi begs to differ! Track days are thirsty work so we thought we'd better stop off at the pub on the way home.

That would be me. Although Gerald from Ice was driving my car as well during the day.

R-Spec/Circuit Semi-Slick Tyre Prices?
Snowman replied to Merli's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
This would be handy to be stickied! Prices may no longer be the same but the contact detail are! -
I'd also vote for Simon's (meshmesh) car.

:flamed: Sameer - I'll start. But not about your perceptions on the carizma car but about Bens car AND the principals of previously damaged cars. I haven't seen the Carizma car nor delt with them so I can't comment on your preceptions there. But Bens car I have seen in action on the Mt Dandy cruise and then again yesterday on the track at Winton. There is nothing dodgy cut and shut about this GTR let me tell you right now. If is has been in an accident (I have no idea if it has or not) most of the time who cares! Bloody my GTR has definitely had a side impact before I bought it but my car travels stright as a die and I have no problems with it what so ever thats come about due to any previous accident history. Some times I reckon people can get a little carried away about a car that has been damaged before. And if I was looking at buying an R33 - Bens car would be high on my list of cars I'd get.
-
You were there? Did you come say Hi? Did we own the track or what! LOL
-
Yeah I'm just trying to work out how/when we can register. I don't think its open yet.
-
Tryo dude - heard the full story and feel for you man. So much work was put into that to get it ready as well. Matt - you are weak. Otherwise - the day was AWESOME. Very different to any other track day I've done as this was overtaking practise! LOL. The 4 fire breathing GTR's owned Winton yesterday with out a doubt. And with like 50 cars on the track it was a case of how many times you could lap everyone in a session. Massive overtaking under braking as well as overtaking around the outside on the sweepers. Best $20 I've spent in a long time. And a very impressive track debut from GOLGO. And the Snowmobile held a very well and things are looking good for this weeks Dutton!

Why Install Sump Baffle In Rb26 When It Already Has One?
Snowman replied to Scooby's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
But apparently thats because I'm a naive dickhead and work on the theory of what I don't know can't hurt me. So if anyone else needs some advice on how to turn a blind eye to a potential disaster because they either cbf or can't afford to fix it then come talk to me. This is my area of expertise. -
From the start of the Hume it will only take 2 hrs to get there. And one thing that the guys that came on the Team Wang weekend can vouch is that we sit right on the speed limit all the way. Nothing more stupid than getting done for speeding on your way to a race track. We'll see you at 7 then Matty!

Nice avatar greg Everything was an option for a while there. Need a few other changes than just the box however if I went that way. Plus there's something nice about a 6th gear. I didn't want to get rid of it if I could help it! haha.
-
Matt - don't be weak. My suggestion is this - we meet at the macca's just before the start of the hume at 7:00am. Sound good to everyone? Just called to confirm a few things. It is $20. The sessions are split between drivers only and passengers. Basically the point of the day is for people to have a chance to take their family out and show them what being on a track is like. In the passenger sessions you MUST have a passenger - during this time it is go easy. The driver only session you can go hard! $20 is awesome!
