  1. I so wanna go snowboarding now.
  2. yeah dave - you doing another one? I want a 6 speed gear knob and an oil cap.
  3. Ok I can answer this question - but there are some considerations here in my opinions on the whole GTR v's Euro supercars. To answer the my NSX vs My GTR question then I'd have to say the GTR kills it in everyway except for cruising comfort. Its a much greater weapon than the NSX ever was. HOWEVER - this is because the GTR is MODIFIED. The NSX was stock. And that is the beauty and the reason why I bought the GTR. If I was to get a stock GTR then the difference would be a lot less. But the $$$ to modify an NSX is frightening. For me - when I think of the question of GTR v Euro supercars I always think of the GTR in its potential form rather than its STOCK form. For those that live in Melbourne and get out to track days, one of the common track day is with the Maserati Club. Now the last day out there was 2 Ferrari 360's and 3 Porsche GT3 RS's as well as many other impessive Euro cars. The fact was that at the end of the day the top 5 times were held by 4 modified GTR's and a modified GTO. (Not me - I was back in 15th! LOL) Its like all cars - someone mentioned about the BMI vid when the the Evo's and Rex's beat the R34 GTR - again in this instance it was a case of a stock R34 GTR (non V Spec) V's lightly moddified EVO's and Rex's. For me - the Japanese sports cars are designed to be easily modified to gain a great deal of extra performance and that HAS to be considered when comparing them to the Euro cars which are not designed that way. Its also the fault and the reason why I think the GTR is better than the NSX. I think in stock form all the Euro supercars will kill a stock GTR - but then how many stock GTR's are there out there? Make it any Euro super car v's a GTR with $25K worth of mods and it will be a different story. My 2 cents.

  5. also - whats the situation with chicks being invited cause my mrs is keen on coming.
  6. I also think that after the fun of last Friday for me that a stop off at the super fast Karts in Summerton on the Hume HWY on the way up? Will help with getting into a bit of practice before we try and turn the Skylines into go-karts on Sunday.
  7. What - only if you want frost bite or hyperthermia! I've usually found roofs and windows handy in the snow.
  8. This is just a quick attendance querey for the next round of the MSCA sprints. Who other than me is actually attending this day? There has been lots of talk from a number of forum members but is anyone else actually going? Geoff, James, ferni, Roy, Ben, Ronin? Anyone else? If you are planning on going remember the forms have to be submitted by the 20th so there's only 3 days to do so. Its been a while since my last track day so Im itching to get back out there.
  9. Ok - Im still hurting from Friday night! LOL But otherwise a big thanks to all that came along on the night. Ben it was great to meet you and you certainly kicked ass on the go kart track. Now I look forwards to moving the challenge to the race track mate (will send you PM today regarding Sandown) If anyone has never been to this Karting track I'd have to recommend it. The facilities were by far and away the best I have seen for a karting venue even if the karts werent the fastest. The track made up for it by being very technical (11 turns in all) - oh and the karts were awesome for drifting. We were saying afterwards we'd be keen to have another SAU night there (its great cause its indoors with a good bar so it makes a great social venue) and maybe do something a little different like on of their endurance team races. Will keep you posted on any plans. And after discovering the weight advantage at this place I'd better go eat some hamburgers in preparation!
  10. I usually go up to Hotham for a week with mates but unfortuantely can't go this year. So I'd certainly be up for a few day trips to Bulla once the season starts - finances depending. Will probably have to be later in the season for me however - like late August or Sept. I am however going boarding in Canada for 2 weeks this coming Christmas!
  11. sunday
  12. Its should be done. I know Im planning to come raid you Welshmen at some stage later this year!
  13. Blitz - I went through my first track day experience earlier this year. All I can say is prepared to be hooked! lol Anyways.... some advice from my first time out. Start off following someone who knows their way around the track. Preferably someone you could just beat powerwise normally but not someone you have to "slow down for" to follow. I kinda made this mistake on my first day - because when I finally decided that enough was enough and it was time to go forth and venture on my own I discovered my braking points were a whole lot different when I was at full flight! (LOL - my very first corner I went WAAAAYYYY off at turn 1 at Sandown! I had gone from being at about 180km/hr at the end of the straight when following a car to 240km/hr - didnt realise the braking distance was THAT big a difference for those speeds) Also - speak to as many different people that have been at the track as possible for little tips. From my experience all the tracks have some little quirks or tips that can be handy for the non experienced. Don't know about Wakefield but Sandown has 3 corners where advice from others certainly helped me improve my times. Regardless of lap times you will have heaps of fun. And then Im sure you will be dying to get the line out on the track!
  14. Heres a 15 second MS Paint special for you to look at Shan. Kinda like the Nissan Symbol but instead of the silver circle I have used two red circles (tail lights) - Instead of Nissan I have put Skyline. Extremely crap but you might have time to turn it into something??
  15. About $15K so far and I have about another $10K in the next month. My wife has officially cracked it. But my bank manager loves me.
  16. Simon mate that can be done. I was asking for 2 knowing there was room for 3. So yeah - all sorted. No I didnt ask Gerald cause he'll kick my ass! lol Great stuff guys - all sorted. Its going to be a lot of fun. We'll probably organise another full SAU one later in the year.
  17. Mate there is apparently off street parking for the place. Having said thay my GTR wont be coming - if only for the reason I have a NO Beer and Drive the GTR rule. Way too dangerous! Doubly so after a night of Karting! lol
  18. Excelent. Start at 7:30pm as started mate. Thats the time of the first race so we need to be there 15min earlier or so they said.
  19. Ok - heres the scoop. A group of us have book at go-karting night tomorrow night at Go KartSports in Moorabin (the tricky indoor place). Unfortunately today a number of the guys have pulled out which has left us right on the minimum numbers - but another guy is away today ill so Im a little concerned. So I am seeing if there are 2 people out there interested in coming Karting tomorrow night. Basically it is people from my work that are doing it - however both Ash and Noof will be doing it as well. The details are as follows: Where - Go KartSports - Chesterville Rd Moorabin When - Friday 14th starting at 7:30pm What - 3 races - 10lap qualifying - 2 x 15lap races Cost - $92. I'm really only looking for 2 people at this stage as the place has a minimum of 12 but a maximum of 16. We have 12 now but I dont want to fill all spots incase some of the pull outs changes their mind. We'll all be having a drink at the venue afterwards. If you havent seen this place its pretty amazing! They video the races and then you watch them on large screens afterwards over a few beers for a laugh. The karts are quick (200cc) and the track is tuff (none of this foot to the floor all the way around shite) More details can be found at: http://www.gokartsport.com.au
  20. Geez mate - the speed you were caught doing gets higher and higher every time you tell the story! Can't wait to find out how fast you were doin the next time you tell it! lol :Bang:
  21. I like the logo - its bold, clear and simple.
  22. The best thing you can do is think of them as completely seperate entities. You can get the nismo upgrade for the display until and it has no consequence over the ecu what so ever. As I said all it is is a set of electronic display clusters. There is basically 3 different screens. One shows you ALL of the elements in a simple line format - this looks unexciting but eventually this is the screen you will use the most. Secondly there is a screen where you can chose any 2 parameters and it will show them in a dial format and record the highest peak for that run, and finally there is a screen where you can chose one parameter and next to it there will be a graph plotted of the results against time. This looks cool but Id rather be able to see everything at once. As far as getting the nismo upgrade well IMO you really have to be made of money to get it. All its really going to do is allow you to read up to 2.0bar on your boost on this screen. However - chances are that if you are going to be putting in aftermarket turbo's you will have some form of EBC that will be telling you your boost anyways so spending the $1,000 on the nismo screen upgrade seems extreme to me.
  23. No you are both confused. The monitor that sits on the dash is just a large range of electronic clusters if you like. All they have in it is readings of various factors such as exhaust temps, boost, battery voltage etc. There seems to be a lot of stuff but there isnt really. The only thing you can change through that system is the "redline" values. EG if you want the little red warning light to come on when your oil temp hits 120deg you can set it to that value. But nothing to actually CONTROL any values. The aftermarket ecu has nothing to do with it. I run a power fc on my r34 gtr btw. It did previously have a mines ecu. There are no limiting options with them. As for the boost controller simon - there isnt one. Again all you can do is set the redline factor again. the max level the standard little computer goes up to is 1.2bar. If you want to further that there is a Nismo aftersales option which has increased the boost screen to 2.0bar - also contains things like the g-force meter and lap times you see on those english GTR dvd's. Hope that clears things up.
  24. Saw this advertised on TV and has got me thinking about orgainising a Team SAU Billycart! http://www.redbullbillycartgp.com.au/ We can make a billycart that looks like a little GTR! I volunteer to be the driver! Engineering side of things I'd suck ass at but there are a number of guru enginners on here that Im sure could help build a pretty kick ass billycart! What do people think?
  25. Dont recall seeing a monaro - but a Falcon GT got 240 I think. I wasnt there for long to be honest which is why I didnt run. Had other things on that day. There were 2 new black STI's - both were awesome. And stop exagerating what Im doing to my car! Your going to dissapoint a whole lot of people at this rate! lol
