  2. Funky - its not 270 x 2. The cruise is kinda one big circle. So the whole cruise (well from Major Petrol station to Major petrol station) is 270 and they both just out of the CBD. We don't do any doubling back the way we came from on this cruise. For those wanting to pre-meet out the front of Evolution R meet there at say 8:45am. This will be only a short quick meet-up and then we'll cruise to megamart.
  3. I honestly don't know sorry. But I'm guessing you also don't know about the new wing then either Sydneykid. He says this has made a big difference as well!
  4. SydneyKid - Ben is now using Bridgestone RE55's and he swears by them. He claims they give him at least a second over anything else he's used before.
  5. @ James new avatar!
  6. Yes Bens car is simply amazing. I had the pleasure of being on track with him and the speed in which he comes up behind you is amazing. That car flys and he has the driving skills to bring the best out of it. Seriously great effort especially since the morning was nice and wet too. That was my first experience on a wet track and I lasted 2 laps in the rain before I chickened out and pulled off after 3 near offs! (The next lap around was when the nice pretty red ferrari decided to hello to Mr Wall!) Was great to see so many skylines on the track yesterday. It seems track work isnt that popular here with Vic members but that seems to be slowly changing.
  7. Yes Ferni - you need a CAMS licence. But getting one is no big deal - you can even get one on the day. Basically just a fee of $91pa (you also have to be a member of a CAMS club. But most track days you can get memberships on the day as well) Ash - dont worry about it mate. $20 to fix it was no big deal.
  8. HAHA - no you cant have my rims!
  9. Emre - thanks for the clarification (and the website - Id been looking for one on Sandown but couldnt find it!) Technically I believe Ben comes under the catagory of Marque Sports and if so the record is his. As for the V8's - I was only going by what I was told by someone on Sunday who said the V8's lapped in the 1.17's. As for my own performance.... well it was down on my first time when I was lapping in the low 1.28's (best was a 1.28.1) However on Sunday I discovered that the IDIOT that I lent my wheels to for MAS had driven over a screw and put a slow puncture in one of my wheels meaning that basically my tyre pressures were dropping from 35 to 22 in just a few laps so traction was an issue. So only low 1.29's yesterday for me. Tyre has been repaired this morning and will have to wait for May 30th for the next Sandown day to get into the 1.27's. Ronin 9 - now that you have showed the pic I know your car - would have been better if you said the silver 33 with buddy clubs! There were so many silver skylines there yesterday even though a lot werent running! BTW - what times did you manage? Scotsman - will reply to PM shortly (aka after lunch!)
  10. Ferni - the "standard" tyre for the stock R34 Rims was 245/40/18's. I didnt have a choice with the Advans and had to use 265's (choice of 235 or 265) but they dont fit on the rims properly (over hang too much). I can't remember exactly why but I was told by the guys fitting the tyres that this was detrimental to the performance of the tyres. So basically I would have less grip than I would if I fitted 255's even though the tyre is wider. I think it had something to do with too much flex or something.
  11. Dodgy = wet. Apparently I discovered that Sandown has 9 different surfaces around the track and some of them dont like ANY water (especially turn 2!) Car tended to want to go straight rather than around the corner. Was dodgy.
  12. Happy Birthday old man. (You know thats said with respect to your wiseness mate!) Hope you got yourself those nice new rims for a pressy! See you on Sat!
  13. Ronin 09. I was the R34 GTR with the Ice stickers. There were a whole lot of skylines there on the day wasn't there! (Although not all of them were racing) Infact considering it was supposed to be the Maserati Club day, it really should have been called the Skyline and Porsche day. There were a number of guys from here that were there. The red 33 was infact Skylinegeoff. Brutus was there but he didnt run and neither did James (but thats because he's WEAK! haha!) Tim who comes on the cruises was also there (user name I dont know) and he's damn quick. The R34 GT-T with P Plates was (I think he said) R34Boy. But no one comes close to Ben from racepace. I believe yesterday he broke the marque sports car track record at Sandown with a 1.16.89. From what Im told the V8's circulate slower than that. The other "highlight" for the day was the twin pair of Ferarri 360 Modena's running on full slick Perelli P Zero's. And in yesterdays second practice it started to rain (I came off after 2 laps as I couldnt keep my car on the track it was so damn slippery) but one of the Ferrari's on SLICKS decided to keep at it...... and ended up in the wall. Hopefully someone on here will post some pics of it soon. But overall it was a great day (abiet a little dodgy in the morning) Was really good to see so many skylines on the track as well as so many other great cars.
  14. Ferni - fyi - I have 265/35/18's on my R34 GTR rims. You wouldnt want to go any wider. When yoko make the A048's in 255/40/18's as they plan to in the future I will change to them.
  15. Baileylsd - we are coming back via the caulder and the cross is one of the last port of calls. So maybe just come to the start meet point on the ring road or else come to our lunch spot at the town of Marmsbery (I think thats the right name! lol) Ferni - South east meet point is Megamart Car Park on Warrigal Rd. However, I will be cruising up westall rd toward the fwy so if people want to meet out the front of Evolution R or something before cruising up to magamart then Im cool to do that. Also - for all those SE people NOT wanting to use city link please meet at the ring road Mobil.
  16. Meshy - I'd recommend the Yokohama AVS V102's (Also known as AVS Sports) Not cheap though but awesome street tyre. (But they are a lot less than $600!)
  17. I used to sell these things a few years back now and they are very.... different. I still remember quite clearly the day we fed a full grown adult one a live mouse.
  18. It should be a lot earlier this time. Im expecting to be returned no later than say 4pm. The difference is this time we are only ever 1hr from Melb city max at any point anyways so its much easier to go any time if you need to.
  19. No not at all (only cause Im not far away from it!!) Infact later in the year I will have to organise an over 30's cruise just so I can feel young again! haha.
  20. A mate of mine just got the nice EPA letter in the mail about his exhaust noise. He's had the car for 4 years and its his first one (Im gob smacked about that as his car is FARKEN loud) Anyways.... he has no idea where he might get a quieter loan exhaust from. Anyone have any suggestions? cheers
  21. Nothing wrong with just shy of 30! And of coarse they can come. Cruise is open to all as long as they behave (shouldn't be an issue with "older" guys). I have a mate with a TX3 that is prob going to join us.
  22. Im only doing this if I get a gun as well.

$70 is still a lot less than what I paid for mine! A mate of mine is who is chasing one so it would be good if I could give him the option of the upgraded one as well.

when you say a lot higher - how much is a lot higher?
  25. Greg/Mesh - I think your final idea of t-shirt / picture / signatures all framed is spot on the money. That will look classy.
