  1. Love your ambitions - but this thing only does 1.13's. I know people who have spent over $10K to go 1s faster - so to try and go 18s faster is going to be a lot harder than I think you realize!
  2. Has anyone tried to swap an ADM MFD circuit board into a JDM car? That'd be my first thing to try. Afterall in the old R34's the NISMO upgrade was just a different circuit board. Can't see why the R35's would be any different - although you may need to swap both the MFD and the dash clusters - not sure. Also - didn't Nissan offer an MFD update for the ADM car so that the original ones could get the Sat-Nav and iPod stuff? Again if so I presume it was mostly just a board swap but maybe Nissan Oz can answer that.
  3. Has the updated front diff though over the MkV Golf. If you haven't driven one with one you will be amazed at the difference.
  4. The problem with introducing a "time attack" class is most of them are only good for 2 laps before they blow up. Hardly going to make an exciting racing series now is it!
  5. I've used the federals on an EMO. They were pretty good. Better than a street tyre - not as good as an R Comp. Pretty much what you'd expect really.
  6. Something that hasn't been asked / raised at all is - how many cars per run? (aka is it single car passes or 2 or even 4?)
  7. Not sure on that! Haven't seen too many caged Targa cars that could be "easily" returned to a street car! But anyways - I hope TQ can get the series up and going better and stronger. Just hope his personal disagreements with CAMS aren't going to get in the way of that happening though.
  8. Hey Timmy - Gave should have held off and got one of these instead. Would def suit you!
  9. Unless you are asking questions about rotors he doesn't answer emails
  10. They all got the OK to do it.

  12. Yeah but if EMO 4's + 6's are running EMO 9 Titanium RS turbo's...... anyone who runs R33 N1's would be an idiot.
  13. The biggest issue with bigger cams I found is the off throttle response. Off the throttle into a corner and back on the throttle there is a lag in response compared to standard cams. Back in the early Dutton days - I had those cams and -5's. My car made 380awkw's. And I was able to run 1.21's at Sandown. We changed back to standard cams - which according to the dyno was WORSE through the middle - and ran 1.19's. But you could massively feel the difference in back on throttle response which is where the time came from. Even bigger gains were had a places like Winton where there was more benefit to throttle response. I have had more tubro / cam combinations than I care to consider on an RB26 engine - but if I was building a new one from scratch (which is basically what I did last year) I would build one with standard cams and N1's and know I could run around all day long and beat 99% of cars out there. (And the ones I couldn't beat would probably be 1 lap wonders). And yeah - Mark was running straight 110 race fuel. I've always run 98RON from the petrol station.
  14. Yep - it's like sav suggested N1's are laggy. They are only laggy if you run bigger cams chasing top end speed/power. My car was full boost by 3,000rpm and had 300awkw's by 4,500rpm. Hardly laggy. Consequently we were shifting before 8,000rpm too. (but I run stock cams) Good response and GOOD handling - and these cars will be quick around most tracks.
  15. There is no doubt in my mind now that a PROPERLY set-up GT-R on Targa N1's is pretty much as good as anything for a circuit car (bar the superlap type specs). My car would easily run sub 1.20's at Sandown now - and there sure ain't many cars running sub 1.20 at Sandown. I used to be convinced you needed around 400awkw's to achieve that but we now have several cars closer to 300 running those times. Looking at history the Gibson cars were doing Bathurst in 2.15's and Sandown in 1.16's on slicks. So if my car can do 1.18's on R Comps at Sandown I'd say sub 2.20's on slicks would not be an issue - if the driver is up to it.
  16. Yeah that rallysafe thing was cool.
  17. Yeah I ditched the the terratrip in favor of one of these. It did the trick ok but still not perfect - someone will come out with a good proper GPS based one in the future I'm sure.
  18. Save some coin for March Bris!!
  19. I've had 2 DNF's @ Targa. One was a wheel falling off and the other was a snapped upper control arm. Both were most likely from old tired parts. I've had other issues in the past with electrics and not at Targa but broken front diffs from launching the car. (So I consequently switched to a Nismo front with the extra set of spider gears for strength) This year there were also a number of RB26 engine failures. But I think if you make sure your cooling is right, you have a nice baffled sump, and don't get too greedy with power (I run around 330kw's @ wheels) the engines should be ok.
  20. Oh - I forgot to mention - the reason why recommend the Scirocco (and consequently rentaracecar) is that it is DSG (and a bloody good one). Because the Ring is hard enough your first visit without having to think about changing a manual gearbox on the wrong side of the car.
  21. Yeah I love my R50 too mate - how good are they!! It's sure beats the Hummer hey! LOL
  22. The new Tiguan TDI (not too big) with DSG is epic but you might struggle to find one second hand yet (and they are about $45K new). Still - the older auto versions would be worth a look too. I love my Diesel Treg. VW def do fantastic diesel cars.
  23. Blaise reckons one of his biggest advantages was being able to run bigger rubber than the rest of the EMO's (he squeezed on 255 rubber onto his cars where as the others were all on 245's). The funny thing is for me my tyre choice was the Yoki A050's and the biggest they have been making is 265's. I have a set of 10.5's and a set of 9.5's and I personally found that the A050's in 265's sat better on the 9.5's than they did on the 10.5's (where as the RE55's and DZ03's were both better on the 10.5's in a 265 tyre). But as soon as the 295's were out I'd have been switching to them on the 10.5's as my preference.
  24. A bunch of us use these guys - http://www.rent-racecar.de/english/index.htm Their website is up the cack at the moment though - but a buddy was there with them only 2 weeks ago. We generally use and recommend one of their Scirocco's as a great car to do the ring with. Best bet is to contact them via email (Heidi and Theo) [email protected] Super nice couple as well. Edit - reason their website is cack is because it has changed! New website is http://www.rentracecar.de/index-gb.htm
  25. I was doing well - until I forgot to put tips in for 2 weeks. They should just default your tips to your last tips if you forget.
