  1. Well if we need an obligatory R34 GT-R my car will be available but being set up for circuit rather than drag or show it lacks that certain boom effect. Still - my nice new shiney rims will be on (such as the image) and a bayside R34 looks horn not matter what in my opinion. Im also guessing that the SAU representatives this year we would like to be members of the soon to be established SAUVIC club?
  2. Dave mate - Im cool with the boys. they have known since the start that Ive been in no hurry and so we all treated it accordingly. I still wouldnt go anywhere else and will continue to recommend them to everyone. Its been more of an on going joke between me and Inasnt than anything!
  3. LOL - I know mate. I went to pick my car up last night (after going yesterday lunch and being told it would be ready at 4pm) and it wasn't ready. Suprise Suprise. But I finally picked it up at 1pm today! I actually made a point of asking Gerald when yours was going to be ready. He said Nige was out getting something for it then and it should be finished today - dynoed on Monday. I hope for your sake it will be. The cooler looks good though - will get out tomorrow for a run and see how it goes. The new clutch and power fc are awesome already however. Can't wait to get on the Island now and then the skidpan the next weekend.
  4. Just on the charity day note - last year the Ferrari club held a charity day at Sandown where people paid to be taken for a lap in a ferrari. My car was also there and people were more than happy to pay $100 for a lap in that. Madness.
  5. vspecv = Dean.
  6. And by the MCCR club president. Nuff Said.

oh oh oh - I saw this on the cars in the new GT-R dvd and I want it. The lap time thingy would be good, although I was curious on how it was activated.
  8. Actually I think its only the V Spec that has the seperate complience so they may become very hard to find.
  9. Only go to Hypertech if you have lots of money you no longer need. they are a joke. I made the mistake of going there when I first got my car because I thought they were the best due to the Gibson relationship. What they are really good at is making things up so you fork out $$$ so they can afford their Targa cars. I will also never go there again.
  10. :bahaha: Still on for tomorrow or is there another delay? I know mines still not ready!
  11. No mate thats good news - it means I get to have a "practise" run before you hit the track. Couldn't go getting beaten by no rwd car now could I? Was good to meet you and a few others from here last night (although some of you need to say a bit more on here! You know who you are!) Last night they also handed out the trophies from last years competitions and I was damn impressed that one of the class winners had to be close to 80 years old. (Geoff or BlindElk can you confirm that age guess for me?) Regardless - in my eyes this bloke is the ultimate speed racer!
  12. Well now I know whose door to knock on if I put mine into a wall at Phillip Island!
  13. what time is it happening? day or night? I have stuff on Sat morning til midday and stuff on sat night but would be interested to test out the new mods if its on Sat arvo.
  14. James you are having a bad run of things mate!
  15. Entries for the 2004 Dutton Vic Rally opened this week and I thought I post up something incase there's any other people interested in doing something a little different this year. For those that don't know the Dutton Rally is a 3 day event (held 6-8 August) involving 24 stages/courses at Shepparton Airport/DECA/Winton Raceway/Heathcote Raceway/Avalon Airport. The events range in everything from track sprints, skidpan work, 1/4 mile and 1000m flying start airstrip runs (see November 03 Motor mag for the GTR that hit 306km/hr on this run!) This event is pretty much open to everyone that has a car and is over 14yo. Only the basic track day reuirements are needed - so no roll cages, racing suits or harnesses. There are a number of guys from NSW entering the Dutton NSW this year and a few of them competed last year. They have an extensive thread going in the NSW section. Skylines were made for this stuff! :burnout: One of the other great concepts of this event is the co-driver option. Basically 2 people get to have a go in the one car. This means you can split the costs and have some extra fun if you have a mate you trust to let drive your car! :Paranoid: More information can be found out at the website: http://www.duttonrally.com/ Im very keen to enter this year!
  16. Mark from my investigations recently in trying to buy a gtr r34 clutch - basically they are only for gtr r34's. Wont fit anything else. Unfortunately your ad is a week late for me.
  17. Na mate it was ok - infact it was the most complete Ive seen it in the last month. BUT as you surely must know by now they aren't the best at meeting completion dates. I was due to get my car back last tuesday, then the dyno was postponed to Sat... then to yesterday when it was meant to be finished. Well the dyno was done..... but the oil cooler hadn't quite managed to get fitted. Im told it will be finished today. Im not holding my breath. (Mind you they know Im not in a hurry as its not my daily driver or anything) They are pretty stoked with the job done on your car though so I think they are as keen to get it finished as you are and see the results. So you might be lucky!
  18. There was a second R34 going on later in the day with new Garret 2530's installed. Will find out what that made and post it as well. Will be good to get a comparison basically straight after mine to see how much difference this turbo upgrade makes considering conditions will be the same.
  19. LOL - your car has taken longer than mine. And it was still in bits this morning! My car was meant to be there LAST tuesday but only made it today. So good luck with getting it there on Friday! Dyno took a couple of hours I guess. Didnt pay 100% attention to exactly how long as we were there for ages (I had to run Gerald around to try and find a M7 bolt) plus the cams hadn't been adjusted or the power fc fitted before we got there. And Im not sure as to cost considering I've also had a new clutch, plugs, oil cooler and pads as well as the power fc and cams fitted this last fortnight - and Im not sure of the exact individual breakdown of costs involved. I just know Im broke now.
  20. Mostly Nigel but with some friendly advise from Ben.

Yeah no black don't do it for me. Evolution R have quoted $4400 for new ones but there are some 18 x 10.5's for sale in Japan for 130,000 yen. Have some other sources checking for me as well.
  22. As an update - Ive just come back from racepace where my car produced 255rwkw @ 15psi boost. We didnt want to increase the boost right now as the car is heading out to Phillip Island next weekend and 15psi is safe for the stock turbo's there. But there was a power increase of 20rwkw when we upped the boost from 14psi to 15psi so I could see a figure very similar to that produced by jezzrrr @ 1.2bar. So I got a nice 77rwkw gain by changing over to the power fc, adjusting the cam gears and a slight increase in boost. Very happy with that. And the power delivery is so smooth now.
  23. I think the guys at prospec have said that the thing they did to their cars that made the biggest response difference was the addition of a carbon fibre prop shaft. So much focus goes towards the engine but this could be an important key to supreme performance.

Yeah thats what I was chasing. What do you think - silver or bronze?
  25. Al, entry forms, dates for each event, event results and individual event costs can all be found on the MSCA web-site. The $310 was just a figure on how much it cost and what was involved to get started. And feel free to come down (I have no idea if there is a spectator fee. Blind Elk??) The more familiar faces there are around the more relaxed I will feel! cheers http://www.cm510.com/msca/
