  1. Nice looking build Mark. Just on the tyre front - I'd be at least trialling the new Hankook Z221 in a 295 - at least until the 295 A050 is available (which I think may possibly struggle on an R35 but would be worth a try given the weight this car should finish up at). The RE55 is a great tyre and used to be my main choice for heavier powerful cars - but the new tyre technology is definitely a step forwards so would at least be worth a look IMO.
  2. Same as the Toyo's. I still find it hard to believe 4 years on from the R35 being on the market that there are still no 19 or 20" R comps made (espec given porka's, lambo's, fez etc all run bigger wheels too).
  3. Surely though if you start thinking Grp C lines you should consider the Jimmy Richards ATCC winning car from 85? You can get them out of the UK for under $10K. Come standard with a 5 speed and ABS!
  4. Yeah honestly Richard I didn't sleep hardly a wink last night thinking about selling my car (have a couple of interested parties already). I want to try a new challenge which is really the only reason I'm selling - but at the same time I feel SMAUG has been part of the family for over 8 years and I feel like a bad parent or something letting it go! I've had 4 different daily drivers in that time but only the one pet dragon.
  5. LOL - must have been because I came 23rd.
  6. Just make sure you buy some good quality ear plugs Blaise!
  7. The biggest issue with the 997TT is that it will basically set you back double the cost for similar performance of an R35. Would be an awesome car no doubt - but the sums don't add up IMO.
  8. It's on MY105. The plan will be to build an R35.
  9. Well I'm not sure if anyone here is interested but I've put my 34 up for sale. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/365514-r34-gt-r/ But its a good car - I can vouch for it!
  10. Hi all, Have decided I'd like to have a crack at the outright competition at Targa so am looking at selling my Early Modern R34 GT-R. This car was a fresh build less than 18 months ago from the bare shell up. Parts include: Full built genuine N1 motor and turbo's. MCA Tarmac Rally shocks. 375mm front brakes and 335mm rear brakes Nismo front and rear diffs CAMS certified chrome molly cage Sparco race seats Stilo Intercom VBox camera and data logger Full Z Tune body kit Black TE37 rims 340rwkws on 98RON fuel There is obviously a lot more to the build than just that as this car really was the culmination of 8 years of knowledge into building the fastest possible tarmac rally GT-R we could. It's definitely an Early Modern outright contender and a top 10 outright car in the right hands as was seen in 2011. There are also plenty of spares available including extra rims, engine, gearbox and the standard panels. The car does also still have full street rego in Vic. Price $70,000 Car is in Melbourne. Contact me on 0419 375 140 or via PM is fine too.
  11. Does this also mean that the other CAMS rallies will fall in line regs wise with the Octogon rules (Targa West, Rally Tas, Mt Stuart etc)?? Be good if there was just one set of rules thats for sure.
  12. Blaises car is 280awkw's - but only 1240kgs. compared to my 330rwkw's and 1620kgs he has me smacked on PTW. Kills me in a straight line. But 280kw's on a 2.0L EMO with one of those cheater EMO 9 RS turbo's and E85 is not that hard to achieve. I still wouldn't do though as then I'd have to start wearing a dress on weekends.
  13. ZL1 C3 Vette. And I know Bris would happily be my wingman.
  14. WTF?? Jack has an EMO? Brisby did an entire track day in his R32? What's the world coming too!!? Oh and Jack - don't write off the EMO straight line capabilities. Blaise's car with an EMO 9 turbo and an E85 tune has my car pegged in a straight line. Drop the weight and get the tune right and they will run a sub 20 no worries.
  15. Kim Ledger was trying to get that done but I believe he was failing in his attempt.
  16. Yeah - but they thought the R35 was too heavy....
  17. What's the other car if "both" are for sale???
  18. There was rumors going around that this Targa was to be the last for that car with the Whites. Any further word on that?
  19. This is Brisby we are talking about here. If he builds it (1.2% chance of him actually doing it rather than just talking about it!) it will look good, sound great but due to some whack theory he devises he will actually make it go quite slowly. But it should end up with nice brakes if nothing else.
  20. Ok now we are talking That could be some fun with an extra 100kw's or so. Then the car will also be in Pikes Peak spec as well. Might have to go have a chat with the boss today and work out some numbers.
  21. I was talked out of it by sensible people. It would be good fun though. Right up until I crashed it due to a lack of talent anyways. LOL But I don't think I'd build a different EM car these days. I'm happy with the one I have. Even though if I decide to keep it now it probably won't be EM Targa eligible going forwards (and I'm not sure whether Stu would let me run it as a Z Tune in Outright??). Because part of me wants to put a 2.8L + E85 in it and go to Pikes Peak with a few lads, but another part of me wants to build an R35 now and play with something new and see who I can annoy. But I really don't know just now exactly what I want to do in the future - other than to go and do this with Brisby and track down the blond barmaid! http://www.aaltonenmotorsport.com/home I will get the shocks back from Murray, put the car back together again, and then maybe think about it after that.
  22. Well my car isn't going to work very well without a driver now is it!!!
  23. Yeah but does he really have a TME RS? Because he also has a $70K R35 GT-R listed (which has been listed for ages) that he doesn't actually have. He just leaves adverts up so people ring him and he can say "actually that isn't here anymore but I can source you something - although the price will probably be a little higher...." Either way - all you EMO people are poofters. Get a real car that actually takes some talent to drive! I'll have to update my sticker to MONEY CAN'T BUY TALENT* But it can buy electronic trickery and sometimes that's good enough.
  24. 996 GT3's are in already!
  25. What happened to getting the Audi?? So if 8's become eligible next year what is the date shifting to? 2003 or higher?
