    Buyer Beware

The funny thing is you would have been unlikely to pay extra $$$ if you had used Aaron anyways!
  2. Try the Grand Touring Garage 1970 Mustang thing. Costs a bomb but worth every cent. If you get a decent sound system your entire suburb will know everytime you drive it
  3. The seat / stand was about $600. I like everything about it except for the height of the H Pattern shifter (too low). So consequently tend to use the paddles more often even though I would like to use the H Pattern more (especially on easy races where the H pattern adds its own degree of difficulty to keep things more interesting). Google Playseat for details anyways - they have a stack of different options.
  4. There has been a huge improvement on the tyre front as well (although you need to get deep into the game to appreciate this). Although it is found out early on with the Kart stuff. With all tyres they get hot if you push into a corner but "cool down" again if you drive smooth. But once you get to the longer races you can actually drive to preserve tyres from the start. If you run one of the 5 lap events in the GT All Stars event on Medium slicks you'll be stuffed at the end if you try and drive 10/10th as the tyres don't come back to you after they get hot. But if you drive smooth from the start the tyres will still be great at the end. Having to try and drive fast but smooth is a great challenge rather than trying to set lap records every lap.
  5. This could be what you are looking for - http://www.wheelstandpro.com.au/index.html None in stock from there though currently. I'm actually using a Playseat which pulls apart nicely as well but is fairly bulky when assembled. But have to say now after playing with it set-up and with a wheel its 11ty x's better than with the controller.
  6. Apparently the maps is the same for the G27 except only the top 2 buttons on the wheel work (so basically L2, R2) My G27 is due in the post today - not here yet but. Really wanted it for the weekend!
  7. Yep I'm with a few others on this one. Played it for around 4hrs last night (didn't do the install at the start by accident - meant that each new track took a couple of minutes to load but load times are getting shorter and shorter as data is already be installed). I found it to be great. I haven't modded a car yet - have infact only purchased one (2nd hand FC RX7) - and despite that I'm up to level 10 and have $400K in the bank to do what I like with later. But the driving is great and its exactly what I want the game to be - a driving/racing game! And getting some of the gold cups is going to be farken hard! (I've settled for a Silver is acceptable rule now before moving on). But for anyone who says its the same as GT4 you must be kidding (go plug your PS2 back in and take another look). Also the driving physics is vastly improved. So for me I'm wrapped and can't wait to eventually get my hands on the RBR X1 and to do the Gumball across Europe. And I really hope the "random generation" Rally stages work well too.
  8. Good day and a great job by the officials in the heat. For interest I have chucked a couple of my in-car vids together from the day.
  9. Benny - once you cooked the tyres did they come back after they cooled down? Or was that it for them?

    Trackdays

Geez - well I'm on the waiting list for AROCCA. Fingers crossed I get a spot. Not sure about 1.47's in my thing though. Think its a bit on the soft side for PI!

    Demerit Points

Given points don't even cross state lines (aka 3 points lost in NSW won't effect your Vic license) I doubt an international licence would gather points. There is talk of them changing the state rules though but it hasn't been done yet.
  13. Yeah the A050 "M" is more like a M/H for sure - or even a H. One of the guys here has just done his 8th track day on a single set I think and runs full sessions everytime out. They definitely wear well. And the fact they only come in Medium, Soft and Super Soft to me really says they come in Hard, Medium and Soft but they just want to sound more hardcore. LOL
  14. Blaise will be better for a first up run (look at his times from after lunch on Day 1 at THC) and with him fine tuning again in TWP he'll be up there at the pointy end. EM will be seriously competitive for TT11. I reckon I will struggle for a top 5 let alone a podium. But for now I will settle with just being allowed to officially finish. For what its worth I ran the A050's at TT this year which are an M and there was still heaps of tread left on them at the end (and I never put any fresh ones on). Mind you it was never really 100% dry for the whole 6 days. But I know Jeff ran a set in 2009 where the weather was much kinder ok as well. That being said my set was completely shagged after THC but I think everyones tyres across the board were like that. I will still run the yoki's again for TT11 even though its a few weeks earlier in the year. But if I wasn't running the A050's I'd run the Dunlop R's (M/H).

    Trackdays

I'm keen for PI with AROCCA on Dec 12th.
  16. See your problem was you just weren't trying hard enough
  17. It was Paris he caught - not Newton.
  18. It was strange that there was no real coverage though because it seemed everytime I took my helmet off a couple of blokes with a video camera and microphone wanted to come and do an interview. I also had a pre-event phone interview as well which seemed to result in not much. Maybe it's because they kept catching me with a sandwich in my hand and we all know how much I love my food
  19. Na he has a 7 as well as a 5. Apparently he got the 7 when the Showroom rules went EMO specifically for EMod. Although he was sounding ready to walk away on Sunday night and concentrate on his circuit RX7 but we all feel ready to walk after an experience like he just had. As for Batto - they should have stuck him in the Focus RS I reckon. Regardless him and Brenno should have some good ding dongs next year.
  20. With Tony Warren defecting to Early Modern now in an EMO7 it will start getting rather pointy at the pointy end. I might have to defect to Showroom and see if I can knock off a Mazda Deisel rather than trying to keep up with all you nutters.... On another topic - It looks like it was a big rock that busted my car which leads me to ask the question on what others do in regards to under body protection? My poor old blue car's under body looked like a WW2 bomber it had that many bloody holes in it. And even after just 1 event the rear sub frame on the new car looks rather 2nd hand.
  21. Both me and my Nav run a DefNder too. It was the first event I've run with it and it seemed to do the job well. Took a bit to get used to wearing but you can definitely see how good they would be in an impact.
  22. I swear I saw them run off together with a giant purple dong at some stage so you could be right (Actually Whitey smacking Mark Perry in the head with it and being told he was bringing the sport into disrepute was one of the more amuzing things I have seen).
  23. And then there was Brisby
  24. We were the 1st car behind the FIV vehicle (was behind it from about half way through the stage) and by the time we got there it was nothing but a shell left. The fire was massive - I thought we were going to lose half the forest! You would have needed a whole lot of 2KG fire extinguishers to have made any impact on it!
