  1. Interesting. The BP in Queenstown is no longer there so that option was gone, and I've signed up for fuel with the Vandenbergs but thay have only listed having fuel in Tarraleigh on day 5 currently. I will see what I can find out about this rumour of yours. Be great if it was true!
  2. I thought you were running Ben? You guys are on the list! But we have tools and I have a handy guy with them sitting next to me for the week but my calcs show we won't live off just getting fuel at the lunch break each day. I my pretty sure Day 3 after Mt Rowland, Day 4 after Cethana and Day 5 both before and after Mt Arrowsmith I'm going to need a top-up. Dan should hopefully be able to help us out days 3 and 4 but he can't be in 2 places at once on Day 5! lol
  3. I'm on the boat tonght. I'm all packed and ready. The car however isn't. LOL It was still in pieces when I left it late last night but it should all be sweet come 6pm tonight. I still need to find some helping hands down in Tas (especially for day 5) but hopefully we can find someone friendly enough to help some blokes out.
  4. Yeah I have. Ralf and the guys there are good blokes and know a bit BUT they insist on using that damn laser alignment machine and sometimes you can physically see that what the machine is saying isn't what the alignement is in reality. So they can do most of the mechanical set-up side but you're still going to want to get it string line aligned somewhere afterwards.
  5. Ever been hit by a snowball? They're harder than you think! LOL
  6. Hahaha - Ooops! And Benny no not that soft. Infact my "soft" is probably where most peoples hard set-up would be. But then I'm harder than most so you get that.
  7. Ah yeah - the current forecast is for rain every day of Targa. Should be fun! (consequently we are changing over to the softer spring set-up today! LOL) But Blue Gum are wrapped - they are sure to sell a stack of those expensive coats now!
  8. Haha - yeah but I think Slip is building another one to run the full event in next year (I think Targa High Country will be his first event) so is using the Tour this year to test out the feel of some parts and set-up. It's not the most silly thing in the world to do consequently! I'm looking forwards to checking it out - it's probably the most developed 35 in Oz I'd say.
  9. If there was a Tour comp then Slip would win it hands down! LOL (Slips car for those that don't know it -> http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...ct-t283568.html )
  10. My (safe) tips are. Modern - White Early Modern - Ayres Classic - Broadbent Showroom - Warren Rookie - Barlow
  11. Yeah I know Handbags, Danny and Mario call all steer well in their selected EMO's and don't forget Andy Barlow who runs around in the Australian GT Championship in an F360 and was the 2009 Porsche Club of Vic champion who will be running around in Matt Close's old 996TT. Fun times in Rookie indeed!
  12. It's OK - TTTNOJDB it is. I have to say you picked a tough year to do Rookie though Matt. There are 4 pretty damn decent steerer's that I know of in Rookie this year. Glad I did it last year thats for sure. But Rookie should make for some interesting following this year.
  13. Hahaha - I just some video footage from the last time Chris and I teamed up together for a rally (Duttons 06) Hopefully things go a little better this time!
  14. Team Last Minute isn't that much FTW anymore. LOL I'm struggling to get across to Tas (I do have a Sat night booking which means I will have 1 day to recce the whole event currently) and at this stage the 1st boat home is May 9th! LOL And beds in Strahan for Sat night......... HAHAHAHA - yeah no. But - I am offically in! http://www.targa.org.au/Competitors/profil...0Early%20Modern
  15. Because the "Type R" was doing so poorly for them!?
  16. I have a copy but it's not helping me much. I've had some people say its the "slow" adjustement since its at low speeds - but others tell me the slow adjustemnt is for slow piston movement such as in corners (where its awesome). Others tell me its the fast adjustement since its over bumps - but its great over bumps anytime except under brakes. So thats why I'm confused and don't want to stuff something up needlessly!
  17. Hey I can't lose now - I have Jesus as my guide! (well I have Chris T and my nav so its close enough)
  18. A quick question for all the Motorsport experts in here. I tested my car yesterday for the first time with the new MCA shocks and for the most part they were fantastic. In high speed applications they were perfect and big bumps they absorb without notice and mid-corner the car has way more grip than it has had before. BUT - at lower speeds the car feels a bit bouncey and if there are bumps under heavy braking the car also bounces around pretty bad at the front. I'm a bit new to the different types of rebound settings available in the MCA's so not sure if there is a specific one that this scinero might be effected by (high speed / slow speed) - or whether its a spring thing or an alignment thing (although the settings are the same as they used to be and I never had this issue with the old set-up) Any feedback would be appreciated.
  19. ah really? Bugger - I was about to ring Troy! I might have to ring Jeff and find out what he is doing this year now.
  20. Yeah Chris worked on it all day yesterday. The good news is he is coming to Tas next week now as well. He's sitting in my silly seat
  21. Haha - yeah I just sat down to look over my footage from last year and there was chicanes on every stage on Day 1 last year. I was watching it and thinking "that will be a little more exciting without a chicane there" on a number of occassions!
  22. Saw your car in the flesh today Matt - it sure looks sweet. I put my car through its paces today and it passed with flying colors. I also found someone to jump in the silly seat so it looks like I'm going to be back in the game! Team Last Minute FTW.
  23. And it probably would since my car seems to fall apart as soon as it gets further south than Strahan!
  24. STFU! You know my project here has gone utterly pear shaped this last fortnight, so I've asked the people if they want to take a 1 month resess to get their shite sorted. If they say yes I will be straight onto the phone to Stu! LOL I don't have a bed anywhere in Tas, a navigator, no idea what condition the race car is in and have done no recce - but if they say they are putting everything on hold for a month I'll bust my ass to get there!!!
  25. I wish I didn't watch that!
