Yep sure did. Am looking forwards to being up there and concentrating on the festivities side of things! BTW - apparently a new Tarmac Rally was announced yesterday in W.A. Targa South West. Sounds promising although slightly confusing. Its running under CAMS but to AASA Targa regs or something!? LOL

I picked up my new VBox Lite last week and had a chance to play with it at the ATC event at Lang Lang on the weekend. Here's a couple of vids from the event - although you'll notice the "foot-cam" slowly gets moved as the day goes along so that still needs some work. But overall I'm pretty impressed with it and its a nice step up from the POV1 (but I just wish is was in full wide-angle). Anyways - Event 1 (Ride and Handling Course) Event 2 - Skidpan

That's epic. I'm going to have to add this event to the "to do" list I reckon! That 4WD seems to be working only from wheel-slip. So it's like the longitudinal sensor just isn't working or giving feedback to the ATTESSA at all.

Well Dunc I'm glad you found that 0.01s (and more!) over the rest of the weekend. Good job on the result (especially on the getting away with the class thing! LOL)

There is a massive car-park down the bottom where all of the competitors will have to wait for their runs that you can park in as well I'm pretty sure. But they also open the mountain a few times a day for general traffic and the viewing at the top is much better. There will be a bunch of people from here going actually I think (I'll be there). The funny thing is this is only half true. The ADM cars don't have the lumnar dection system system true BUT if you leave your main lights on constantly the lights actually automatically switch off when you turn the car off (so they aren't left with the parkers on / give you a flat battery). So I just leave my lights in the ON position 100% of the time and drive with the lights on during the day as well as at night. That almost needed to go into the useless facts thread but I just thought I'd clarrify it slightly since it was raised in here.

Dunc - yeah I got it in the end and am running the same system as Mark (PWR Cross Flow). The temps are MUCH improved. At Targa Tas for example the hottest I got the car was at the end of the Sideling and that was 81degs. No other stage got to 80 even. That's compared to 117degs I hit in half a stage at Wrest Point (before the wheel thankfully fell off and stopped me from destroying an engine! LOL) That being said last Friday at Winton it was 37degs ambient and after 5 hot laps there the water was up to 95 and still climbing (so I went in after that) - but the car used to hit over 100degs there after 2 hot laps on a cold day. But that was the first time driving it in anger I'd had it above 85degs since putting the new radiator in. I totally rate it as a good thing. Actually as a funny story on Saturday in the heat at DECA with all of the short bursts we do there and idling the water temps before my run on the short track were up to 94degs - but then at the end of my 60s run on the track they down to 84degs! LOL But if you are keen on one of these things you need to make SURE you speak to the right person at PWR (Adam) and tripple re-iterate what you want! And even then chances are you'll need to modify it to get it to fit. LOL Oh - and I'm sure they will tell you that you need one of their thermo's to run one. You don't. I still run the stock fan minus the shroud no problems.

The current model IS the Series 2! There's another little useless fact - Australia never got any Series 1 cars delivered.

Really if you are looking at a 2nd hand one you'll have 2 options. ADM (Australian Delivered - and Oz spec) or JDM (Jap Import - Jap Spec). As for the price who knows in March other than to say the JDM ones I'm sure will be cheaper than an ADM one. So it will just depend on how important having everything in English and having local Nissan support is to you. (Performance/Parts wise they are pretty much the same except that the JDM ones are technically a Series 1 where as the ADM ones are all Series 2 with the differences just some software updates and other little things)

Neil - Horsepower is handy at the Island no doubt but it's no substitute for grip around there. If you want a real horse-power track go to Sandown. But there is sooooo many LOOOOOONNNGGG high G corners there that if you can be fast through them you'll get the times no worries. Just look at the times the Super-Karts do around there in comparison to Targa Cars. We get flogged by Karts!

You thought it was running hot last weekend - just wait til this weekend by the looks of it! LOL But that was your first real time there is a fast car doing fast times right Dunc? It's a different place once corners like 3 and Hayshed are no-longer an easy flat one hey! What was your best time in the end? Oh - FYI Aaron has done 1.44's around there now. A few others have gone quicker still but not ones that could pass under propper Targa regs (Aaron could get his to pass pretty much ok though). But what were the tyre regs for the class? Was everyone on R Comps or on Slicks?

Yeah but that's only because you haven't shared a room with him when he's drunk!
