How's the non-fm transmitter iPod/iPhone solution coming along?
-
Haha - I'm currently uploading both of our inertia clips in the one video at home. My upload speeds are horrid though - 13hrs for the one 6min vid I have a few more to load over the next few..... months. Will have to bring them into work and upload them instead.
-
I'll have to upload some of mine. You make it look to easy. I have a lot more efforts of trying to destroy the poor little car - although who ever thought not putting ABS into a car is an idiot IMO. lol

Tarmac Rallying Perpetual Thread
Snowman replied to Marlin's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Well the positive news is this has just saved me some $$$. But then I was looking forwards to building a 1991 NSX for Targa especially after spending a few days in a Caterham R400. Big HP light RWD cars sure are a stack of fun to drive! -
I fly into Germany today - will see if I can't cause a bigger one.
-
These guys would be able to help you out. They made a really nice job of my one for my race car. http://www.mmsport.com.au/

Speaking to Ray he said the ADM car stock was 12psi dropping to 10psi and after the tune it was 17psi dropping to 13psi.
-
I wouldn't be too hung up on what the number says as all dyno's read different and there are a zillion different other factors to consider. That same car might read 300 stock and 360 with the Cobb on another dyno. But what needs to be looked at here is how much of an increase in power and torque there is over the base value given the same dyno and conditions. Very impressive given there's nothing else done other than a flash tune between the 2!

What do you mean unsafe - they look fine as long as you don't try and get out of them http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQIhXrrk1_E You can even do barrel rolls over the top of each other in them! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRRfIJD9bMw&feature=fvw

Infra Red (heat) Photos Of My Tyres
Snowman replied to djr81's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Chances are it's probably an iPhone app. lol -
Yeah but I've had enough experience with GT-R's to know that 3 days of open pit at a racing track with a one of these cars = 0% chance of something not breaking. LOL At least with the rentals if something breaks we just hand back the keys and they give us another one. Plus - it's not like the Caterham R400 is slow (That's what we'll have at Spa). It has a bigger power to weight ratio than my R35 and yet none of it's tricky electronic talent. Should keep us entertained enough. Here's a lap of the 'Ring in one of them.
-
LOL - given we are already spending $6K on car rentals for 3 days Bris it's not such a silly idea hey! And Aaron - not hooking up with Mossy. At this stage we just have a Scirroco for the day. We are only there for the Sat - heading back to Spa that night to watch the FIA GT1's - then doing 2 days at Spa currently in a Caterham. (Unless Brisby tells me otherwise over the next few days! LOL)
-
Right - I'm booked in for July 25th. That gives me a month of Playstation practise so I can have a crack at this 8:36 rubbish. Given I near crapped my pants doing 9.12 in a more powerfull car last time out I don't like my chances. LOL (abiet I only did 1 dry lap last time and that was my first one).
-
Alright - I'm off to Spa to watch this one Although I'm going with Brisby so I'll have listen to his Corvette rubbish all weekend I'm sure. Best bit is for the 2 days after the race we'll actually get to play on the track

265 Re55s On 9.5 Or 10.5 Inch Rim
Snowman replied to ming spec's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
yep - I have a set of 9.5's and a set of 10.5's and I run 265's always on both sets. -
I haven't really noticed the drone I have to say. But then maybe having come from a modded R34 GTR where the drone is 11ty times worse I don't notice the minimal amount this pipe makes at all.

You can add Targa Wrest Point as well (between NZ and Targa Tas in Jan where he finished 2nd outright.....)
-
LOL - I think the average speed at Winton is a little lower than at the Nurburgring When you consider that the average speed of what the R35 did to do 7:26 at the Ring is higher than what a V8 Supercar does as an average speed around Phillip Island I don't think you can really compare the times... Still - I'm sure I can be faster than your R34 at Winton Although I might not be coming to Winton anymore. I might be going back to try and break your 8.36.6 instead
-
And also from experience I can tell you that sitting in an unfamiliar LHD powerfull car means you spend a great part of you concentration on doing things within the car (i.e. shifting gears with your right hand takes THINKING about - it doesn't just happen without thought like it does in your own car) which means you can't attack the track anywhere near as well. Its the same reason why when we know people are going there we suggest the VW Golf or the Scirocco - because it is a DSG and it means if you want to you can just leave it an Auto and drive (which is exactly what Aaron did in that lap). But being in the familiarity of your own car you could do the same thing. And our cars would HAMMER around there. It's such a fast track and that perfectly suits the GT-R's!

Here are the details for NSW should anyone be interested. NEW SOUTH WALES As you would all know, we are well into plans for New South Wales, which will be a very different kind of event. This event has now been officially released and as a previous competitor we would like to give you the opportunity to enter now before it sells out. How is the NSW ATC different: · You can enter a car with a non-driving passenger, OR with a second driver - limited tickets for additional non-driving crew will also be available. · The event STARTS in Sydney and ENDS in Tweed Heads, NSW · Starts Thursday 3rd September and ends Sunday 6th September, 2009. · Final presentation will be in Tweed Heads on Sunday 6th at approx 2pm - plenty of time to get flights home Sunday night. · Transport for cars back to Sydney and Melbourne has been organised with CEVA Transport. Trucks will pickup cars for a subsidised transport deal for interested competitors. The most exciting part of the NSW event is YOU will get to compete on a near identical WRC Super Special Stage in Murwillumbah, in front of THOUSANDS of fans- then watch the WRC cars do their stuff. It’s the first time in history this has been able to be done! Add to that awesome venues and events such as Eastern Creek Raceway and WSID Dragway, a couple of Australia’s best hillclimbs, a fast blast down an airport runway, a tricky karting circuit, and some fast-flowing Auto Tests. We have even secured another signature event at Coffs harbour with stages on some of the beach access roads! Pricing for NSW Event Driver (plus non-driving passenger) Entry: $2,750 2nd Driver (replaces non-driving passenger) Entry: $990 Pricing includes entry, some meals, merchandise, rally decals, entry and tickets to Rally Australia Super Special Stage with ATC hospitality. CAMS insurance premium $190 per car. Schedule Day 1 Thursday - Starts off at Eastern Creek, WSID, etc for the usual events of previous NSW Duttons, then hit the highway for the Ringwood Hillclimb at Raymond Terrace that the MG Car Club run. From there we drive to Taree for the night. Day 2 Friday - Starts with drag runs at Taree Airport, then onto a cool little track south of Coffs, called Raleigh Raceway. They have had the International Karting Championsships here years ago, and a number of Car Clubs use it for their Nationals, as well as Hillclimbs. Search it...it is quite cool. Then into Coffs for the beach stages mentioned. Stay in Coffs Day 3 Saturday - early start with breakfast and car display in the Mall, then first cars start leaving at 8am for the Hillclimb in Grafton for 2 runs. Then road trip up north via Casino to Murwillumbah, for WRC... This will take place between 4.30-6.00pm sharp, then stay up there the night. Day 4 Sunday - a few stages in around Murwillumbah for a lunchtime 'ish finish to watch more WRC action.

Like what? Engine and tranny fluids? lol Ask Tony Quinn what he had to replace on his R35 GT-R after winning Targa (which was over 500km's in competative length on roads a lot more agressive on the car than what the Nurburgring is - I have done both so I know!)
-
No it's not. For us plebs we can only access what is know as the BTG (Bridge to Gantry) time - which is basically the whole track minus the massive straight. So its only 19.2km of the 20.8km course. It should take about 30s to do that straight at an average speed of 250km/hr. But for example on that Top Gear Episode that JC tried to break 10mins in the Jag (and then Sabine tried to break 10mins in a Van) - they were using the BTG time as well. If you look at the "track records" page that has the Veyron in it - that was BTG as well. Unless you hire the track as an individual you will never be able to do anything other than the BTG time (since you can only ever do 1 lap at a time and you start at the back of the straight and get off at the begining of it), so that is what most people test themselves against.

Right up until the point when you actually go there and then think to yourself "shit this looks nothing like what it does in the game / on TV!" LOL
-
How do you figure that? The tire rack ones are US$19.90 per pair - so US$10ea + delivery. Would work out about the same. And to think you sell Maths software....
