I have to say I LOL'd when I heard the news this morning. Only because it was Louise. He just seems like such a fun person to pick on.

Here's Nissan Ferntree Gullys Demo car

After spending the 1st evening with the new toy I don't know if I'm more looking forwards to the racing or the recce now! They really are a very nice bit of kit and I can see why they'd have to be the car of choice for Targa.

Yep - only has the CD ripper. And even at that it won't rip MP3 cd's (it will play MP3 cd's but won't rip them onto the HD). And a normal CD takes around 15mins to rip. It's definitely not the cars greatest point. But go out and put your right foot down a few mm and all is forgiven

Also - at this stage there wasn't an option for ANYTHING - that included extended warranty and even something as simple as a tint.

The premium wheels are the dark - almost black wheels. Look awesome on a white car (Looked good on the red one too). No Sat Nav at all at this stage. Basicallly it is because that would have needed to be fitted locally (not done in Jap for any O.S. models) and Nissan Oz couldn't find a local source to do it cost effectively at this stage. It does have Blue-tooth though and so far it seems to work well.

Well I've got it got it now! And damn it's awesome to drive. A couple of little things Oz people might not be aware of. There's no SD card slot for the HD and no iPod adapter. There's also no auto head-lights or wipers (same as US guys). But the series 2 premium wheels in the day-light look AMAZING and I'm totally blown away with the quality of the paint finish on the whole car. It has a truely amazing pearl flake in it. And finally for anyone that is in Vic and is keen to look at a car - Nissan Ferntree Gully actually have a demo car down there now to have a play with. It's a Red Premium and looks hot!

Then we'll be the guys down there with faster recce cars than our race cars! lol I think I know of 3 of us with R35 recce cars along with the 5 race ones. Should be a good little gathering.

I remember reading years back actually that the plan was always to make the base model, a Spec V and a 3rd stripped out, caged racing version that was named back then as the EVO Spec. But right now the Spec V seems as useless as the Nismo Club Spec in terms of gains for $$$ value. Then again - the NUR spec R34's aren't exactly all they are cracked up to be either but people still seem to get a boner over them.

Do you all know how rubbish this car will be at DECA?? LOL It's an amazing car - but nimble isn't going to be it's strength! And the gearbox isn't going to allow handbrake turns so don't expect to see anything up there other than large amounts of under-steer coupled with traction control kicking in! It's going to be about as successful as the SST EVO X's are on a skidpan.

Mate - 2 better words. Targa Tasmania (that's where I'll be instead )

My understanding is that Nissan Ferntree Gully is the Premium Nissan Dealer in Oz and as a consequence they were given the privillage to release the 1st one Nationally - and then they chose me to be the person to get that 1st one. It really was a great honour - I've known about it for a few weeks now (that I was getting the 1st one) and had to keep it quiet!

It was actually a nice gift the dealership gave me They all know I love my motorsport (hence why the R34 was there - they asked me to bring it down).

The 3 centre switches that control the tranny, dampers and VCD - R Mode = Race mode

I'd have thought you'd have prefered to have brought it to the Island and break it in for me around there mate! LOL I honestly reckon it'll be a fair whack faster down the straight than my R34 and I won't be suprised if it can clock a faster lap time around that track as well. We'll find out in May I guess

I agree completely Which is why we did this thing last night and am taking the car home tomorrow! I didn't need an April Fools car.
