I wonder how many people whinging about the price of petrol won't think twice about paying $2 for a 300ml bottle of water from that same petrol station? Comparitively speaking petrol is a lot cheaper than water!
  2. I'm pretty sure the ARC ones aren't available any more.
  3. http://www.mtbullersprint.com/ A good place to crash apparently.
  4. I have a lot of plans but unfortunately not a lot of them are as solid as I'd like them to be at this stage. LOL So much depends on so many things for me. The only thing I know for sure is I'm doing Dutton W.A. in a couple of weeks. From there many things are possible. If we do very well in W.A. and it means we have a shot for the Dutton National Championship I'll probably try and find the coin to do NSW in November. However after Dutton in a couple of weeks my main motorsports forcus will be to do the Targa Rookie next year. But that also means turning the car into Targa Spec which will take time and $$$. So if we don't do great in W.A. I'll look into getting the car sorted and then depending on time and $$$ I might try and look at doing Mt Buller in November as a learning curve for Targa (I'd do Buller just to learn - not to do well which means I could hopefully have a more serious crack at Targa Rookie in 09). But - and there's always a but - we have some pretty big things going on here at work and it may mean I won't have the funds to do anything so time will tell. But in a perfect world I'll either be doing Dutton NSW or Mt Buller in November and Targa next year.
  5. My aluminium one was custom made by Ben @ Racepace. Otherwise I know you can get the carbon ones through John @ Unique Autosports (but he is in Syd obviously)
  6. OMG - check out the video. http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/10/video-g...-4-ring-attack/ It's driven by the Push-Pull Shuffle Hands king!!
  7. You guys going to play in cars or on bikes?? Or both. Frank will be hilarious - the locals won't know what hit them. And for the 1st time he'll be allowed to do laps in his singlet!! lol
  8. Awesome. And the steering wheel is on the right side of the car
  9. Rubbish - you can run 265's on an R34 GTR easily. On a 9.5" rim 265's are as wide as you want to go though.
  10. Here's a good start to your notes Ben - http://bimmerfile.com/files/Nurburgring.pdf Although I must admit before I went I read this and came away thinking "I'm going to die apparently" and then threw it away. LOL
  11. I've got a mate that works for the Jet Alliance Racing Team (see below) as well and he's always telling me to come over for a round and he'll look after me for the weekend (he's always recommended Spa as the best round of the year which is a 24hr race but is usually on around early August). So maybe teeing up one of these events to go with the ring visit is the way to go.
  12. I'm open to suggestions as to when but right now since the plan is to do Targa next year that more than likely later in the year - like Septemeber / October is going to be best budget wise for me. Targa could kill my budget completely although I'm no sure starter in that yet. As for cars - well last time I went with Theo and Heidi from rentracecar and they were just awesome and I'd definitely be looking at teeing up with them again. http://www.rent-racecar.de/gb/ Lap charges are about $30 / lap and to give you an idea of cost I suggest my day last time which just consisted of 5 laps in a BMW 135i racecar cost me around $1K for the day. I could have done 8 laps for about the same cost. It'd be a couple of hundred less in something slower and it also be a couple of hundred more if I wanted a bunch more laps. Personally I'd want to go for 2-3 days so really I'd suggest budgeting (depending on what car you want) around $2-5K for 3 days plus getting there.
  13. Alright since Aaron and Ben have made we want to go back there badly I thought I throw this open to see if anyone was keen to visit THE WORLDS GREATEST RACETRACK next year I was lucky enough to go earlier this year and it was a life changing experience. I absolutely loved it. However I was also unlucky in that I only got one lap - my first - in the dry. Then it pissed down and the rest of the laps could only be described at tentative and scary. So I have unfinished business there. The one thing that was obvious though was that the way you enter the track through a toll gate meant that you often saw groups of mates waiting for each other and then blasting off around the track together. It looked like a heap of fun doing that and it really made me want to come back with a few lads for the next lot of fun. So the question is - who would be keen to come and take on the Green Hell in 2009 sometime?
  14. Obviously summer is the best conditions BUT the track is apparently really packed at that time of the year (June/July). I reckon sometime around early May would be a good comprimise but I'd happily work with whenever. It'd struggle to be any worse than the conditions I had last time and I survived that. Although around Xmas is obviously out as it will probably be covered in snow.
  15. We need to do a boys trip mate. How much fun would it be to have a few of us on there together!
  16. I need to go back and beat that time Aaron
  17. Well no because don't hey normally make it so that JDM cars are only eligable? I'd personally hate that to become the case here and I'd like to see someone enter next time in some Aussie muscle or something but really the rules have already banned Porsches - but what is to stop say someone turning up in a Radical SR3? Or as another interesting one - what about if Darran Hossack rocked on up in this? It holds the OUTRIGHT lap record at Sandown....
  18. Workshop wars in here stop now. The only person anyone can bag shit out of in here is Brett Middleton because he's obviously a tosser - but the next one who does it to someone else will be delt with. Lets just stick to discussing the event and the future of it as a sport here. As a different topic for debate - I'm REALLY suprised no one has had a whinge about making rules requiring cars to run at least OEM manufacturer engines (i.e. Nissans must run a Nissan Engine - etc). What is to stop some of the crazy light weight kit cars coming in and just making a mockery of this event? (I personally don't care but I could see some of the supporting workshops getting upset if this isn't watched surely?)
  19. He's the director of operations. But basically he runs the Melbourne office and sends everyone emails.
  20. I think that looks like a good set of rules for the proposed intermediate class.
  21. Don't mess with the VTEC YO! Well done all.
  22. Geez - imagine how fast that car would be if he studied this picture....
  23. I'm thinking now Suprise U Thomson is more appropriate! Although I still like Casper G Thomson
  24. Thats like 4 weeks early!!! Congrats to both of you.
  25. Ah Benalia - it's still amazing how much crapper the night life is there compared to Shepparton.
