  1. When the rear diff is working around 205km/hr. My best on Sunday was only 192km/hr however.
  2. I thought this was pretty super. P-Plate driver that hasn't learnt why they put handbrakes in cars yet.
  3. The good news is it should be here in Australia in time for our grandchildren and should only cost around $300K
  4. The best advice I've always given people is quite simple. Hold it flat in the straights.
  5. Yeah well I was about 15km/hr down on top speed on that straight simply due to the lack of drive out of those tight corners - and Winton has plenty of them. That was why I packed up and went home early. But really it was why I was there to begin with - I wasn't convinced something wasn't quite right with the car at Dutton Vic this year but with the bad weather I couldn't put my finger on it as wet weather really masked the problem. At least this confirmed my suspisions something was up and gives me renewed confidence heading into W.A. It's still funny though that despite my issues I was still the fastest GT-R there and there wasn't a shortage of them. And I didn't even have my own transport service vehicle and race crew with me!
  6. Looks like my rear diff is shot. At least it explains the recent below avergae times and results. The problem has been we've been blaming conditions rather than the car for the percieved lack of drive out of slow corners. Oh wells - hopefully can get it all sorted in time for the truck leaving next week.
  7. Don't worry mate - after W.A. next month the next motorsport event I will do will be a tarmac rally. Just which one and when is yet to be decided.

    Eastlink ?

Eastlink = the best road ever!! (As long as you don't need to go near the tunnel when they do the stupid close one lane thing)
  9. Ben that car is the motorsports bargin of the century. Awesome stuff.
  10. No I just need to tie you up and gag you come bed time so I can get a decents nights uniterupted sleep. But actually I think there might be something a little more sinister wrong with the car. Will go speak to the man today. *sigh*
  11. Not only is it still running a tradtional 6 speed manual & RWD but it's even still running leaf springs!!! All up it makes the result even more impressive IMO.
  12. Lets see you get one here for under $250K.... But don't get me wrong - I love this car!!
  13. These ring times are almost getting stupid. But here's the info on the new player. "Tadge J. Juechter, Corvette's chief engineer, announced this morning that Jim Mero, GM's development engineer, drove the ZR1 around the Nurburgring in 7:26.4. According to the GMNext blog, the run took place earlier this morning and that conditions were good on the track, with the exception of a strong headwind down the main straight. Mero mentioned that he felt there were a few places where he could have gone faster, although no details were provided about why and where. Juechter makes it clear that the ZR1 that lapped the 'Ring was instock trim, with the exception of safety and communications equipment. As such, the ZR1 was wearing the same Michelin Pilot Sport 2s found on the production model, the chassis alignment and vehicle height were set to factory specs and the unmodified engine was running on pump gas. The lap began with a rolling start – which falls in line with current industry practices – and the time was confirmed both through an electronic timing system and two hand-held stopwatches. The ZR1 team will be posting a video of their run when they return from Germany and we'll be keeping our eye out for it when it's online the week of July 7th." Guess now we'll have to see what the V Spec does. Oh - and the new NSX, the L-Fa, the new turbo Porsche, - hell I hear the new Kenworth is looking to go sub 7mins too.
  14. Hey I could see a man with a camera - you have to put on a show!
  15. Yeah the dragon is coming. Fingers crossed the weather holds this time as I'd dearly love some feedback on where the car is currently. Haven't had much luck with the weather in recent times...
  16. Top work - good flames by all
  17. Tough job!
  18. Bris let me know if you need a lift up Sat evening.
  19. They were all considered Ant. The fact is MSCA - badly run due to all the old cars. AROCA - will have trouble getting people in. They regularly sell out so fitting another 20+ cars in will be hard. Maserati - damn expensive for a track day. ($200+) PIARC was considered the best event because a) its everyones favorite track, b) everyone will get a spot that wants to come and c) the price is right ($140). I know the track gets busy at these events but given half the crew are probably going to attend this event regardless it seems the best option.
  20. We had a motorsport committee meeting yesterday (which turned into a go-kart day in the rain LOL) but it looks like we will replace the missing rounds from the championship with the PIARC event on November 9th. Its a long way away I know but it looks to be our best option from a club championship perspective.
  21. I'm going to be there Ben and James is also coming in the Ariel Atom. I'm baggsing one session in the Atom - unless its raining and cold in which case it is all his!
  22. Only if they have a flux capacitor.
  23. Nice one mate. It sure looks similar to an EVO I drove around in once upon a time! And if it even goes half as good you'll be laughing. PS - what happened to the R34??
  24. No stupid kits or huge wings are allowed. But full body wraps (ie not painted) in matte black are definitely acceptable
  25. Sure it's not the next Prelude? Looks more that shape.
