  1. I had to cancel the Nats. Too busy at work (both for me and Chris so he still hasn't looked at my car). I am going to try and make it up to DECA though so that might be a great place to have a look. We can go out the back in the afternoon whilst people play battles on the skidpan.
  2. No good mate. But it took me 3 rallies to iron out the bugs and get the set-up right when I built the white one. Track laps just don't replicate rally conditions. Also - you changed the shocks right? I reckon Chris sets them up too soft for Rally as he sets them up how HE likes them for a track/DECA. I had to take Tim Hendy's for a drive and tell Chris what needed changing on his one when it was built as he had the same no confidence issues - it was a little loose on high speed lift off's for example which was no good for fast rally times. Tim's car is pretty sweet now - not sure what happened on Day 1 but he was ticking the boxes on Sunday that's for sure. Let me know if you want me to have a look at it with you.
  3. If you want someone local (Bayswater-Vic) the guys at Racepace can put it on the dyno for you and they have the Cobb tuning software. 9762 9421 But I've seen a few R35's knock at Sandown and PI as they have a lot of engine load at those tracks.
  4. Anyone know if you can turn the TPMS off? And if so how to do it on a JDM car
  5. Actually -5's are a LOT bigger than N1's -7's are the N1's. -5's are HKS2530 sized as found on the Z Tune. They aren't found in any R32's!
  6. LOL - I'm pretty sure they aren't allowed so that should probably have been kept a bit quieter! Anyways...
  7. R35's can't run E85 regardless of the injector rules. But even on 98RON there is a significant performance advantage potential available with running bigger injectors. The standard ones run out pretty early compared to what you can make with these things with everything else being ok with-in the rules. And I don't get how Rullo could have broken 2 boxes and finished 3rd? When they break the cars don't drive at all. The ECU just says limp mode and only 1 set of gears available. Max speed is like 40km/hr. And Blaise - I've only done about 40kms since rebuilding the box. Plenty of time yet to blow another one once we fix the engine!
  8. Yeah I was curious about this too. I know how significant injectors are in these things. Capacity increases are less likely to be an issue though IMO as the gains just aren't big enough to warrant doing it.
  9. You've been saving that one for a while hey! And I understand your frustration. My car is in the sad shed currently because the ECU is over-riding what we are telling it to do simply because the heart rattles a bit. I must get it sorted one day though if only to take up your PI challenge!
  10. Why aren't you at the start line Captain? This event / conditions has your name all over it! I thought the car was good to go?
  11. Well Sims can't blame TQ for this one - although Brisby I think we need to give them some pointers on how to crash with more excitement. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJDLUeCIFME
  12. And in a Prologue! Bloody R35 drivers.... It's good advertising from TQ though. "Come join the Australian GT championship where we all do this to each other"

  14. Looks good mate. Enjoy having one you can drive again!
  15. Honestly - I don't see the point to Clubsprint in Time Attack. It's kind of completely against the point of the event to run stockish cars. And this is coming from someone who was supposed to be in Clubsprint. It just doesn't feel like it belongs at this event and given the fastest Clubsprint cars were all bloody open class cars anyways, I think if a field of cars ran around in the guise the class was supposed to be then everyone would just look at them and think "why are they here?". I reckon they'd be better off having more Open cars and splitting 4WD and 2WD categories and giving more reward / focus to good 2WD entries. So instead of 50 Open class cars and 25 Clubsprint they could have roughly 30 AWD Open and 30 2WD Open cars and scrap Club. Top 5 from each get Pro invites for the following year. My 2c anyways.
  16. Aero failed unfortunately. Combination of a lot of little things meant the front splitter stopped being part of the car. Biggest reason was a lack of prep time in the end as it was a new untested splitter and everything involved with it wasn't up to the forces it created. Shame as it meant he never had a run on the soft rubber / hard shock set-up they were saving for Day 2. But there was plenty of these type of stories all up and down the lane.
  17. If you are going to Sandown with a loud exhaust don't expect to do many laps.
  18. I like where this is going!
  19. A little sample from the On Track Events days at Phillip Island last Friday. Not the fastest lap of the day but its a nice little lap none the less.
  20. New suspension is amazing. Was carrying a lot more speed through 3 and hayshed (both around 200km/hr through the middle now which is significantly faster than before). I had a lot more confidence in what the car was doing mid corner to what it was like previous. It was a good thing but still needs a few tweaks. Was a bit lose under brakes from big stops - but especially interesting into turn 1 and between 11 and 12! New wing going on Monday might help that though. I may have done a 1.43.8 too.
  21. Finally got my thing out on track today - looks like we are good to go for next week. Bring it on!
  22. Can I get a red one?
  23. Richo - testing is overated! I'll be a WTAC and that will be the first run in the car! (Can't make Winton as its my daughter birthday party and she's more important than cars).
  24. Enough power to do this to 5th gear.
  25. Geez - they are all falling like flies.
