  1. Um.... no they won't. For starters what motorsport can you do in that? You can do plently in a GT3RS or a GT-R V Spec. Also haven driven both an Ariel Atom and a GT3 I know which one I would buy and it sure aint the over hyped go-kart. The challenge the V-Spec is going to have in competing with GT3 sales if they are priced the same is in making the car at least as good to drive as the GT3. Not everyone is going to buy the car to win. Most are going to buy one because they love participating and behind the wheel of a 997 GT3 is a very nice place to be. I've even recently driven a 997 Turbo which is faster than the GT3 and also a brilliant car but given a a wad full of cash I'd still buy the GT3 as it really is that good to drive. So the GT-R better be good.
  2. Thank god someone on here knows their Testudines.
  3. I was thinking more along your lines Craig. Be buggered if I'm going to be at Donny at 5:30am! It's only 2hrs from there to Shep afterall.
  4. Ant - I'm with the same insurance company and have had to have a windscreen replaced by the same mob. And my experience was nothing short of excelent. Infact I cracked another Windscreen at Winton on Cup Day and have to get another replacement and I'll happily use them again after the last job they did. I think you just got unlucky with the guy who did the job rather than either company being at fault.
  5. Hey Geoff - this was another of James' toys I had a play in on the weekend. (997 Turbo) And you reckon the RS4 is good...
  6. Since it has my old exhaust on it I already know what it sounds like!
  7. The problem isn't in people driving the cars as they should be driven. The problem is people driving them how they shouldn't be driven. And the biggest problem is that so many people don't know the difference between the two because they don't know either the limit of their own driving ability or their cars performance ability.
  8. The "gotalotago"crash was on the news. They walked away unhurt. It was stated that the road had just been resurfaced there which they didnt know about which is what they have blamed that crash on, but I can tell you from the video they were moving....
  9. Just a quick one - who knows Andrew McIntosh (just want to make sure I group him with his mates in the morning)
  10. We had a good day. Sorry we didn't come down to the harbour but we decided to have lunch at the pub instead. I had a great drive in the 997T between Anglsea and Apollo Bay (thanks James) and I must say its a very impressive car. Really nice to drive both hard and cruisey. But probably not quite as awe inspiring as the GT3 is even though it's faster (although it's no where near as as fast as my car ) Still we had a great run with traffic so it was a lot of fun. But enough of Parka's. There were some nice Skylines there today which was good to see.
  11. I'll be there too. And I'm going to have a drive of whatever James brings at some stage during the day.
  12. I've driven a GT-R with a GT35 on a built RB26 and I thought it was tripe. Way too much lag - was a bitch to get around the track. The car was making around 350awkw's. The same car with a GT30 making 300kw's was so much nicer to drive.
  13. Don't forget your wallet - you'll definitely damage that.
  14. What about Rogger and his Cordia? http://www.freewebs.com/kingcordia/
  15. What do you mean? We're all running faster times than anything you have done with low mounts! Any babboon can run a 1.16 with a 3.0L and a truck turbo
  16. I tried (twice) and it didn't seem to want to make a poll. So I gave up trying.
  17. List Updated. Emergency list started.
  18. The Racepace GT-R hasn't seen a race track in years. BUT - it's had about a zillion different Engine and Turbo specs and spends most of it's running life on a Dyno. So the question Ferni wants answered is "Does Benno need his front shaft any more"?
  19. Although some would say he is slightly obtuse.
  20. What? You're giving him basically 2s based upon slightly better rubber (there was nothing wrong with the other stuff) and better brakes. No Way. I don't see him cracking into the 1.05's. Plus even if he does go back there with better brakes you know he'll just end up trying to hard and will go and find a cone or something to hit.
  21. I can tell you right now a "small" airfield still wouldn't be good enough. I mean take Phillip Island raceway for example. It has a 900m straight which you enter doing around 200km/hr and finish doing around 200km/hr - so really you have a good 7-800m to try and get from 200 to as fast as you can. Now my car has around 350awkw's and it will only get to around 255 on a normal day. 274 is the best I have seen with a strong tail wind. Most airfields (such as mangalore in Vic for example where they do speed runs) will give you a maximum disatance where you can go from standing to braking of around 1200m (Its a 1600m runway). Even there we wouldn't get close to maxing out since it will take the 1st 400m just to get to 200 and from there the distance is around the same as Phillip Island. IMO - you are going to need a good 3+km's and the only place I know where you can legally do this in Australia is the salt flats in S.A. where they do it every year around April.
  22. I'm going to have to get back there now one day.
  23. Yeah both the R31 and Sierra "disappeared" in the final race on Sunday. We couldn't see what happened to either from our vantage point - was down turn 1 way for both. But they were both just there one lap and not the next.
  24. I was laughing at that. At first I thought looking at the helmet it must have been Handbags (couldnt remember what his looked like) but then he was selecting wrong gears everywhere and I was wondering how on earth he ran a 1.19.1 driving like that. Only then did it dawn on me it was infact an R32 GT-R and not those boys at all. But watching our footage you'd have to wonder how we won. They show me losing it at Shep airport, Blaise losing it at Winton and me waving to the officials at Sandown because I could only do 1 fast lap due to the water temp issues. Even the shot of Blaise from the W.A. round was him having a small lose. So we must be hacks - which makes all of you even bigger hacks! But that hour show was definitely a better coverage than the chanel 9 version. Even SAU Vic got a plug thanks to Juz!
  25. One spot left before I start the reserve list.
