  1. Everyone is dropping like flies! Aarons not making it, no idea if Jack is, Ben's obviously out as well. Haven't heard how Jesus is going either so I might yet have to wave the Vic skyline flag.
  2. The Provisional Calander for the Dutton Series 2008 has been released starting this year in Vic. No QLD round for 2008 (due to lack of facilities) but there is a round in New Zealand (TBC) . Dates are as follows: The 2008 provisional dates are: Rd. 1 Victoria 16-18th May Rd. 2 Western Australia 25-27th July Rd. 3 North Island, NZ (TBC*) 19-21st Sept Rd. 4 New South Wales 28-30th Nov If the NZ round goes ahead I'm keen to get over there for it if I can find the funds. Sounds like an excelent adventure. Will mostly likely be doing Vic and W.A. again regardless.
  3. They aren't the same size as discussed here but backing up Richard I have 2 peice rear Alcon rotors with the drum built into the hat also.
  4. -7's is what you want but you'll need to get some 1.2bar actuators to go with them. (they come standard with the -5's and the GT-SS I think but not with the -7's). There are no -5's left anyways for god knows how long. But guys are making 340+ kw's on -7's and built engines (with 100RON fuel) so just run less boost and you'll have exactly what you want with a nice responsive ride.
  5. except that there is none available from garret currently (-5's that is).
  6. I'm yet to see a justification for dump pipes. Front pipes yes - dump pipes in theory but I've never seen a difference in real life (I'm still running the standard dumps and have looked at comparitive dyno graphs with cars with the same turbo's / engine as me and there's no difference). But thats another story. My opinion is as above. Unless you are going REALLY big power then twins are the answer.
  7. tony - you also mentioned slicks. Everyone else is talking street tyres.
  8. Yes he has worked on it. When John (Original Z Tune owner here) brought it down from Syd to Melb he ran it in the 06 Dutton Vic and whilst it did ok it only ran 1.22's at Sandown which is good but not special. I spoke to him during Dutton and he took it down to see Ben afterwards. After Benno tuned it it was a much better car. You should see the before and after dyno graphs! Also Ben never owned a purple R33 to my knowledge. He's always had the crazy white R33 and for a short time he also had a really nice white R34 with white CE28's as a street car - but he sold that about 12 months ago.
  9. It's going to be 1.06's or bust at wakefield....
  10. Sounds like it was a good day to leave the car in the garage afterall.
  11. Yep - before you go wrecking it with an M800 go and speak to Ben at Racepace who knows that car as well as anyone and have a chat to him about it. Infact if you also want an exhaust go and speak to him. Best GT-R exhausts around.
  12. That is so funny. How many time Rezz did you tell us all that the next GT-R wouldn't be called the R35! hahaha. "It's not the R35 - it will be the V35"

  14. How many people have the whole cup week off? I had dinner last night with Troy and he was thinking of heading up on Monday. Apparently it currently looks like Wakefield will have open practise on the Tuesday as well as the Thursday (Wed is set aside for bikes). So if anyone is keen on a more relaxed and longer trip with the chance of a decent drink, rather than the hardcore drive up, track, track, drive home version post up your interest here. I'm pretty sure I will still be doing the Wed depart at this stage however but Troy might be able to lead up an early party as well if there are people interested.
  15. Haha - that kind of reminds me of my situation I gained from rather than lost from. Before the GT-R I had an NSX which I picked up for a bargin because some guys wife left him and she wanted half the car so he sold it cheap to piss her off. I sold the car 4 years later for a lot more than I paid for it and bought the GT-R.
  16. The new 2008 one for sure. I've never understood the fascination with the NUR spec's. Just buy a V Spec and put some forgies and some steel turbo's in it. Same shite different sticker.
  17. Here's a couple of pics of mine from the recent Dutton Rally Vic round with different rims from the old ones. I'll be going back to bronze again soon - the black ones just suited the sponsor stickers well.
  18. My honest advice is that all R34 GT-R's (infact pretty much ALL GT-R's) and budgets don't go real well together. They tend to cost owners a lot more than they antisipated..... My car isn't a daily driver so I can't give you any real figures on typical costs. It lives mainly in the garage until I need to drive it to the race track where it will guzzle 40L of fuel in about 8 laps. And my insurance is based upon the fact that it does limited road km's per year.
  19. They are identical to the 2530's except they are .62 instead of .63. But having used both types in the past it is amazing how much of a difference in response the -5's have over the 2530's with no difference in top end at all.
  20. The -5's are great Russ (Im running them now). I saw a GT-R make 440rwkw's @19psi on 100 fuel the other day with these so they have great potential.
  21. Yep what sewid said. And as mentioned earlier (in a half correct post) N1 turbo's are NOT found on V Spec or V Spec II's - only on the N1 models which you won't be getting. If they are the turbo's you want then you will have to upgrade which ever car you end up buying.
  22. Yep all R34 GTR's have the same getrag 6 speed.
  23. worst semi-comp I have used Russ. They were uber crap. They were definitely 1-2s a lap slower than the bridgestones. I understood a lot of the cars run the A048's over there for these comps becasue they get sponsorship to run them... I have heard the new DZ03's are the go but I haven't used them to be able to fully comment. Otherwise I still think from all the ones I have used that the RE55's are the best to date. (A048's, A032's. R888's, DJ01's, DZ02's, RE540's and RE55's)
