Thanks guys Yea I ordered an Exedy HD from Dan @ modyourcar, no dosh for a twin plate at the moment, this came unexpectedly. Also ordered new seals and a nismo pivot ball from Kudos, since they'll be under there. Will be taking it to some Clutch/Brake specialist up the road *cross fingers* My car is my life at the moment, I can't do anything without it.

Hi guys So my car is starting to do a slow and steady death in terms of driveability. I don't know if it's the clutch slipping or some other unearthed problem. Sometimes the car doesn't rev or pick up speed like it should. It feels like I'm pulling a two tonne truck at the back, revving it freely is fine. More to do with trying to pick up speed in 2nd gear. On full launch, 4-5krpm, the car revs but doesnt seem to transfer the power to the drive train. after a few seconds or so, then only it'll kick in. sometimes it'll rev at a, 3krpm, and speed will remain constant then only pick up. Anyway, without trying to 2nd guess too much, anyone know who I can bring my car in to have a look at it? preferably near the Preston (northish cbd) area. Thanks!

If you use sikaflex, make sure you get the heat tolerant one. There's one specifically for high temp applications @ bunnings.

Last time I was interested I just rocked up to a service center (Kia), asking about apprenticeships. Wasn't that hard really, as long as you look the part, keen and the service manager is nice, you've got pretty good chances. OBviously you would be doing some sort of technical related studies as well.

Actually, having said that you can also use thermal mats, (usually you stick this stuff around your turbo lines).. it will be pricey though.

What are you trying to acheive? Less road noise? Heat? smell? If you just want to cover up the hole for simple reasons, use sound deadening mats... just cut and paste over the hole.. For more hardcore stuff you really should weld plates to it...
