It should be safe, if the solinoid's stepper motor doesnt click like mad, I would say its safe to bet the solinoid is dead

It sounds like a good idea, although what would be the average ammount of time needed to perform this pre inspection?

The solenoid could be faulty, supplying it directly with 12v the stepper motor should click like crazy if it's working (I think its the proper way to test the stepper motor, i can't remember)

Some exhaust wrap around the split dump especially near the turbo outlet should bring the temps down

Back in the market for a R32 Air Diversion plate, access autowork didn't recieve the r32 gtr one.

I know the sierras were running 40psi from the commentry back then, from what I've read the 90's GTRs were only running 1.5bar (22psi) to make 600 horsepower at the flywheel (but were capable of 2 bar no problem): http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/23307-nice-track-skyline-r32.html
