The kit is specifically for the R34 and comes with springs, so I suppose it was right. I'd agree that i may have got used to the Ohlins EXCEPT that I did a couple of thousand clicks on s-tunes too, and did not have a complaint. They have much lower spring rates than the Ohlins. I'd have expected the PSS9s to be close to s-tune suspension, instead they feel worse at the moment than both the track-oriented flag-R and the S-tunes, (and stock as well). -

New Stock Bilstein B16 Pss9 Bouncy

On my R34 GTR, I paid for and had installed a stock set of bilstein B16 PSS9 coilovers (specifically for R34) part GM5-8075-MO Unfortunately i don't like the ride much. Set to minimum damping - bouncy as hell (rear mainly). No surprise there. But even on maximum damping, they are still "bouncy". I can't speak for how well they handle, not having tracked them, but take the smoothest freeway surface you can imagine, but with the normal very gentle undulations. Now drive at 60 to 80kmh on it, and my head is bouncing off the back of the headrest, and the car has the jiggles, and I'm going up and down in the seat slightly. From outside you wouldn't tell, it isn't riding like a car with shot shocks, It just feels .. bouncy, on a small scale. The resonance is worse with certain surfaces and speed ranges. Going faster is ok. My experience so far has been S-tunes .. no bounce & Ohlin Flag-R .. harder, much more direct connected feel, but still less bounce than the PSS9 Is there a front-rear setting I should try? Also, at very low speeds eg in carparks, they click clack a bit from the front you can provoke that noise with the steering. Everything is torqued down right - I am told. -
Every 7 seconds, from within the dash, I hear a "Tock-tick" sound. Or if you like, a "click-click" sound (the clicks do not sound identical). 7 second gap then tick-tick then 7 second second gap. It happens whether the climate control is on or off, and whether the A/C is on or off. It is very regular, and is most audible when stopped, very faintly audible when driving on smooth roads. isn't related to heat, cold, speed, engine being in gear or out of gear. When I got the car from Japan, it was not making this sound. At some point in the last few years, after one or other workshop / service / whatever, it has started the clicking.

Early 1999 R34 --> Sharp Later 1999 onwards R34 --> Toshiba Don't pay extra. If your R34 LCD has developed a fault replace it. Or get one of these for the day it will, because who knows whether they will be easy to get in future. I've got 5 available $175 shipped, per, Australia wide. I've a set of Ohlin Flag-Rs available, full 3 way adjustable, top of the ohlins tree. Swedish made not Japanese made. Stock springs included as spare, they currently have new ohlins springs rated 1lb less than stock on them. I will post a part number when I get them out for a picture, but something like 8lbs front 7lbs rear. Got them from Japan ages ago for considerably more $$s, they were super clean but sent them to Biketek in western sydney (motorbike ohlins specialist) who opened them up and gave them an oil and seal change. Great choice for a weekend track warrior -- not my plans anymore, hence the sale. $2500, plus shipping at whatever that is going to cost

it comes with the wiring, and the brains. You have to supply your own pump nozzle and tube. Since this isn't for spraying water into the manifold, any old pump and nozzle is fine, eg headlamp washer. -
one option I have is getting a nissan dealer to price and obtain top mounts (front and rear) for my r34 gtr, in order to fit bilsteins (I also posted in 'Wanted' for anyone with a second hand set). but since I don't have them, I don't know the part numbers to even start looking.. can someone look them up? or would a nissan dealer be able to do that.. thanks

I'm getting bitten every time I do something to my car So I sold my old s-tune suspension, and got ohlins, and now I want to put on bilstein PSS9 But bilstein says they need the stock top mounts, which I don't have.. so where can I source them from? or does someone have a set available, perhaps off an old stock suspension that is worthless otherwise? nsw prefer. thanks

While my coilovers are getting checked out I need a pair of stock or after-market rear coilovers that are not uber hard. for r34 GTR or R33 GTR EIther just rears, or a full set. Must be known to be decent: re-saleable condition, not shagged out. Sydney. PM please.

Turned out to be the relay I diagnosed it myself in the end. when for different reasons car was at two other workshops I also asked them to look at it, & nobody bothered to swap the LH and RH headlamp relays and discover that it was the relay, not the fuse, bulb, ignitor or wiring .. sigh.

Can someone familiar with the OEM R34 Xenons tell me if there is an additional component to check other than * xenon bulb * xenon ballast that would cause one of the two xenon main beams to go out? we've changed the ballast, and the bulb, but it won't light. Is there an ignitor box somewhere? What else could it be? thanks in advance.
