  1. I mean is it this one? http://page3.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/c191702730
  2. The ganador is the one with only the end muffler, yes? is it really not TOO loud? They come up relatively cheaply (for ti) on yahoo, i think they are discontinued..
  3. Ok that's good. So then I have a slightly different question. How can anyone consider a bolt-on 90mm exhaust or downpipe if all the hi-flow bolt-on cats I can see (sard, apexi, mines) are 80mm in and 80mm out?
  4. Yeah good luck finding one at that price! http://page5.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/e88968937 here is one that expires in a day so far it is up to 35,000 yen which is $600 but then you have to pay fees, and shipping is very expensive, plus in 24 hours I bet it approaches 60,000 yen which means landed in your garage maybe $1600 plus the wait for the sea shipment .. and that is without getting charged GST and Duty. I've got one coming, I couldn't resist as it was sparkly and new. Dunno when I get it, but you can buy my old one when I know for sure the new one wasn't snapped on the way over! It might be cheaper (and lighter! these oem buggers are HEAVY!) to buy an aftermarket rear diffuser.
  5. It is black, so night shots are a little harder to do properly. thanks for the tips everyone. I'll post results when I get my new rims on. (I always seem to be waiting for just that one more modification before deciding it is "ready").
  6. Can you mix dump pipes, down pipes, cats and cat-back exhausts that are all BNR34? For example, mines or tomei dumps, midori down pipe, a sports cat from somewhere else, and a trust catback exhaust? Are they all made to flange up at the same places leaving you just to worry about diameter matching?
  7. If money is no object then look at the Midori Seibi system. 76mm bellmouth dumps, as good as the tomei ones. matching split downpipe, merging to 90mm. high flow cat, 90mm then full titanium catback system, 90mm to big tip. I think this would rock because it isn't heavy (titanium) is 90mm the whole way, and it would all bolt up perfectly. Unfortunately the all-in cost of this is scary. I think it comes in at $8k with the crushed aussie dollar! If you can find a turbo back solution that doesn't have any step changes in diameter, fits with one of the Trust PE Ti-R cat-backs, isn't ridiculously loud and doesn't use a bung (which wouldn't pass the authorities) then lemme know!
  8. there is balancing and balancing. Do they have road force balancing machines here? they are more advanced, they run the tire on a roller simulating the weight of the car, and they can advise if a tire needs to be rotated on the rim, and finally, they will pass or fail the entire rim and tire as balanced within high tolerance or unworkable (for example if the tire has an issue due to curbing or whatever, or the rim is really bad). http://www.gsp9700.com/pub/features/how.cfm I think if there is a wobble at 120kmh+ there is a wobble at lower speeds as well, just your steering and suspension is absorbing it.
  9. because to fit it costs ~$1000 in workshop time and I'll would have to pay it twice over.. once for the stuff that also needs this access, and once again later when it arrives.. second reason, I already have an N1 manifolds which don't have the stock manifold inlet restriction. This is my problem, totally own up to that, just you want full disclosure you got it. third reason, the 6boost is going to add more than a few KG to the car, for possibly no benefit. today a certain tuning shop told me (as I grumbled while picking up a BBK) that they had the same issues trying to connect 6boost to their customers, so they don't deal with him anymore. If even 1 time out of 5 they got my experience then I can understand why.
  10. Anyone know a good place to serve as a backdrop for car pictures in sydney? cobblestones would be great, industrial backdrops also ok, or water .. No other cars around, and no hassles from authorities if you want to take your time to screw around with a tripod?
  11. this is how I got it done. actually there is a vented cover that fits over both complete with perspex windows, but i took it off for this pic.
  12. sh*t happens to the best business. What I can't stand is the combination of sh*t happening and getting stiffed on communication. it doesn't take much to keep me happy. Like a blast email to everyone impacted saying: sorry, we're in a bad spot, when we know more, you'll know more. But Kyle was like: dude, you're in a hurry? take it without the coating then. I've done my bit. Cya. If he is a top block and this is a rock solid business then what does a bad business feel like? I honestly am left to feel that if I write another email asking for an update it would be delayed further - to teach me a lesson in humility. does he do refunds? Kyle if you're reading this, refund me & I'll write how you turned the situation around and me into a happy customer. Otherwise I'll have to sell it here anyway.
  13. My kid (2), today. Good on ya son.
  14. Well, it is another week, and still no sign of mine. Of course they may arrive 5 minutes after I push post, but without any news from anyone, how would I know? I'm a bit tired of this modification game. The story is always the same. Prior to ordering, information flows like water. Money paid, presto! you're the invisible man. I chased down Kyle a week ago and his attitude was not my problem mate he seemed a little miffed that he had to answer the phone. In my view, I pay him the $$s (well, actually the group buy organiser, not that he has been any more helpful), not the coaters, so it is the person paid whose problem it is to keep me at the least informed and not feeling like oliver twist when I just want a status update. "his part of the job" is not done till the person gets the product ordered. At the start of december I would never imagine that the whole exercise could take two months front to back, obviously with something like a manifold you need to book your car in for fitting, and hopefully slot in other changes at the same time, otherwise the whole thing becomes much more costly.. Yeah it was christmas new year hols, but knowing the delays how hard would it have been for 6boost to have asked the coaters for a rush order, in view of the previous broken promises? Now my car is booked in for the first week of feb, having been rescheduled three times, and I've basically given up on this mod. When the things finally arrive I'll probably sell them to someone else, who will be lucky not to have to put up with this. I read the carbon fiber group buy, the sydneykid suspension group buy, and others, and think skyline owners too often get a raw deal after the money is put down..
  15. Bahrain? then the guy probably fixed it from the cash he found behind his sofa cushions.
  16. I'll send you a PM, because I'm not sure they want to deal with random people asking them to shift stuff that is unlikely to sell. If you can't find your model listed already on auctions.yahoo.co.jp by others, it might be a dead end. The one I had there are always about half a dozen or more units listed any day of the week, even though it was a 2004 and quickly outdated.
  17. that is interesting.. thanks. So what mod do you most attribute the reduced gap to, for your particular engine evolution? I assume both outputs went up, but the pulp went up more (thus closing the gap)?
  18. yeah! even more so if the start was 200 and the end was 300 !
  19. It helps a bit. But I was thinking more along the lines of feedback from someone who runs or did run an ECU with two maps and (obviously) the same engine. What did they dyno on the pump gas map and what did they dyno on the C16 map. From reading experiences outside skyline/rb land, but still from forced induction motors, going from pump to C16 allowed quite a thumping increase in torque simply obtained by advancing the timing and increasing the boost and running leaner.. three things some ECUs can do all at once without any change to engine setup. But it wasn't clear from searching whether there are RB26 engines have reported the same result. Another way of looking at the question: if australian servos switched to japanese pump gas - which isn't anything like C16 - you guys would be off to the tuner to get remapped, yes? I wonder what % gain would be typical. 1%? 5%? 10%?
  20. they just announced firmware 2.60, things seem to be chugging along ok. every company is laying people off. Bose just sacked 10% of its workforce! logitech reported plunging sales. Google laid off an entire division!
  21. thanks, but that can be the answer to almost every question here that has the word "power" in it. Was hoping for some real world examples if there are no rules, or even rules of thumb.. nobody (with time to post) runs two maps and two fuels?
  22. more than that..
  23. Just curious, how does this work? assume the dollar was back at 100 yen to the dollar.. so you buy this one instead of a mint Nur with 20,000 kms for 4.5 million .. ok, then what? in a year, you'll have lost 2 million yen, unless you just want to put it in your living room on blocks? Is it worth spending $20k to show a dozen people your odo for 12 months?
  24. Like many others who buy imports you find yourself stuck with a JDM stereo that is no good for local conditions. Won't play local DVDs, unusable Navi, FM stage wrong, etc. Advice on this forum was to "bin it". But I had it all removed and took pictures, and sent them to a japan auction buying service. They listed it on yahoo in Japan and handled any queries. It sold yesterday for 85,000 yen which is money for old rope as far as I was concerned. I sent it express (cost $120) and the service is going to rebox, and send domestically to the lucky buyer who will probably get it inside a week. They charged 10% for this service. I'll probably get $1300 out of the whole exercise. It was a 2004 model, btw, with outdated maps. Anyway, there you go. If you know the model number of your stereo you can easily do a search to see if items are being listed and what they are getting bid to or what buy-now price is on them. For older/simpler units it not be worth it but I know some people have had cars with similar units to the one I just sold - flip out screen, hard disc, navi, that kind of thing - so my advice is to check before you "bin it"!
  25. Sorry to see that By the way, those look like lmgt4 rims with a good offset. I'd buy them off you if the shipping wasn't such a hassle!
