  1. lol... the people who are selling the turbo's name points it all out... must be on PCP to buy any of that shit.
  2. pull it out and replace it. you can pick up a basic unit that will sound far better and make far more power for not much money.
  3. just use the surface mounting hardware, put them on the a pillar. if you need to remove them, just get a new pair of pillars, its not like its a brand new car or anything. just make sure you test them with bluetack first, like the others mentioned.
  4. porting sounds weird to me, but i'd say you've probably clipped it to death, or over excurted it. take it to your alpine dealer, they'll cut it open and tell you. if its a manufacturing fault, they'll replace it, if you've clipped the asshole out of it, or over driven it, then you have a new paperweight. only way unfortunately.
  5. this is a dumb question, but what flange are on the turbos?
  6. i wouldnt use jaycar gear as an anchor for a boat, let alone put it in a car. you're playing with yourself if you think otherwise, it's not better than option audio shit.
  7. okay, i realise this, but my point was that the splits were 220 rrp three months ago, now they're 319rrp... just a price rise they havent made the speaker any better... $349 gets you alpine SPR-17S type R splits, much better speaker for $30 more. and i also highly doubt there's a better amplifier for the same price than an alpine or a kenwood. depending which model you're talking about. the sub is not a bad one, im just suggesting in my professional opinion, you can do much better for the price, but if you already have it, just make sure you power it properly.. but if you were going to get a different one, i'd either see if you can buy a Kenwood Kfc-w3514dvc it's a deleted model, but a few shops may still have them. power it off a kenwood kac-8104d mono amp, run your gear off your deck. up to you however you want to do it.
  8. okay.... will be alright. 1. dont use splits in the rear, what a dumb idea, total waste of money. use a set of tsa1873s in the rear. 80% of listening is your front. you dont go to a concert and turn away from the stage. 2. get a TSW307D2 AND 3. ditch the idea of pioneer amplifiers, they've been shit for years, unless you pay top dollar for an ice power one, i wouldnt waste your coin. instead try getting either a Kenwood KAC-8404, Rockford P-4004, or an Alpine MRP-F600. they will actually make power, unlike the pioneer one, which dont make power unless struck by lightning. you can bridge the two rear channels to drive the sub, and use the fronts 2 channels to run the splits in the front, while running your rears off the h/u. also, IMO the recent pioneer price rises (ie over $100 rise on their basic splits, and from $799 to a whopping $999 on their PRS series splits) dont reflect the quality of the product, pioneer must be really hurting with the collapse of strathfield, and the fact that kenwood has a 8% larger market share (according to recent market surveys) when it's usually the other way around. they're just trying to make a quick buck, making you pay more (making dealers pay more too) for a product that isnt any better. the TSW307 is also a really poor sounding subwoofer, compared to their old TSW306C, they're inferior and sound terrible. you can do much better for the same price. dont get me wrong, pioneer gear is fine, i love the prs series, unfortunately not for $999, they just dont sound anywhere near as good as Focal 165KR2's ($899).
  9. who'd want to steal a 33 anyway?
  10. what sort of flange do they have on them? t28?
  11. nope, thats how the tail lights should work... and a mongoose m80s is the way to go for the alarm. see your local autobarn for details on pricing and fitting.
  12. i really doubt you will find mapping for whatever it is youve bought. i see many weird gps things like these from china. in short sell it to someone else, and let it be their problem.
  13. can you give us some more information, like what sort of amp, sub, speakers you have? brands and model numbers if possible. I can draw something in paint then post it if you can upload some clearer photos.
  14. or, even better, get an alarm system with a three point immobilizer with an on board turbo timer and no stupid remote start crap. they can only smash the window and steal all the stuff out of the car, unless you fit the siren in the cabin, making it really unpleasant to be in there...
  15. see your local autobarn. lifetime fitting warranty, hard to beat.
  16. Focal Solid4 $629 RRP, Rockford P400.4 $699, Alpine MRP-F600 $699, Kenwood KAC-8404 $349... take your pick.
  17. take it back to where it was fitted, dont mess with it yourself, get them to check it, if they're half decent they'll fix it for free.
  18. somtimes in falcons and magnas it's possible to snap the terminals off by shoving a big bag or something in there, i'd disconnect your speakers on at a time and check they're not shorting out. but being an mtx amp, anything is possible.
  19. okay, things you need to know. viper is overpriced for not being not australian standard, and therefore, not going to do anything for your insurance. if you have one fitted and your car gets stolen, then tough luck, they're not an approved alarm. They have a coloured wiring harness, would take someone about 2 seconds to find the right wire to cut off and disable the system. i do believe however, that they have an australian standards one coming out. i sell these alarms because people for some reason ask for them. we fitted one with remote start to a supra probably 12 months ago, the car was sold a month later into brisbane, then stolen, because remote start makes it even easier to steal. you need to buy a mongoose M80S. they have three point immobilization, all black wiring harness, turbo timer interface, a siren and you can add things like window wind up modules and boot release solenoids. cheap as chips, australian standards approved, very good quality, insurance approved, widely sold. Just make sure a professional installs it, not your mates dad who is an auto electrician, because they'll make a mess of it. get someone who fits them regularly to install it for you, dont skimp on fitting. and dont get microwave or ultra sonic sensors, just a gimmick and a waste of money, they dont work.
  20. that's odd.. my 1998 s14a's indicators flash.. you'd think that they would, how the hell would you know that it was locked if they didnt flash...
  21. if you wanted to make the passenger part of the dash look a bit better, you can go see autobarn and they sell dashmats to suit R33's. they probably wont have stock, but they get them from Command Auto Group. I have one on my silvia in black. looks good IMO.
