  1. given me a thought though, might have to look at teh contacts on the back of the dash - as i believe it runs through the dash before it goes to the ecu .. hmmm might as well try, forgot to remove the airbag light anyway haha
  2. Nice work! what's your trick for welding the thin wall pipe to that thick plate?
  3. it will fit will be doing this to my 86 once the skyline is finished off. already got 86 shell and the rear end. R31 diffs are common swaps, i believe hub to hub its about 10mm wider than the 31 solid axle diff
  4. ever run out of fuel before? does it feel sorta like that?
  5. rb25det poncams are VCT friendly
  6. stock one is on the shelf now in lieu of the nismo 300kph one. speedo hasnt worked for a few years now lol well it has actually, but only sometimes after a bit of a work out, and without fail at the track it works- so it makes it a bit harder to diagnose. really need some time on a hoist to trace wiring and swap out the sender unit
  7. no problem, have a look for grooves in the shock body, if there is none below the current base then they are as low as they go. PIC : http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=13929 see the silver lines for the circlip grooves in these from : http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/87521-r32-gtr-bilstein-whiteline-suspension/page__view__findpost__p__1767977
  8. mostly likely circlips holding hte spring base like the whiteline kits
  9. throw up a photo to make it easier
  10. Scotch brite for mechanical etch and removal of the oxidisation, and a spray can primer that states its suitable for aluminium.
  11. oh and the 2 way is alot noiser now - but i put that down to stronger bushes and the semi slicks putting more load on it when turning sharp in the car parks
  12. Car spent the day getting a wheel alignment from Wholesale suspension in penrith - helpful guys and good setup for the low car turns out the front caster rods are seized so couldnt be adjusted, so ill have to address this cars driving great, would be better if my speedo would work and in turn power steering but still easy to drive. next step is to swap with the spare caster rods and work on the adjustable ones - see if its worth putting new bushes in them or starting again. and swap out the speed sender to see if that is causing the speedo problem - already rewired the ECU to fix up the japanese intrusions into the wiring and replaced the cluster with the nismo 300kph one so it shouldnt be them.
  13. started driving on these today seem more touchy on the pedal, also the rust was wiped off the rear before the front so will need to get the bias tested. will need more time behind the wheel to see if the touchy brakes need to be addressed or just me adjusting to it. (could be attributed to the above)
  14. AFM plug? AFM itself? how did you check the spark? adjustable exh cam gear? swap ignitor? if early 95 with s1 ecu
  15. what exhaust manifold? seems to be running it a bit rich throughout, so that will be robbing you of power also
  16. Running the car with no dump pipe? have you checked the wiring behind the turbo for melting?
  17. carbon looks good Neil
  18. think i might change the car a little bit
  19. hahaha - $5 trailer reverse lights will address them later
  20. Neil, TECHNICALLY you need a different blade - that saw is using a regular old wood blade spray it with inox and away you go i have a table saw with the proper blade, but the brushes crumbled cos it s a crappy titon lol and i havent got around to getting new ones - but thats the best way to cut a nice edge. Dimple dies, you can use a vice for alloy, but these cheap presses are much easier for one man operation, plus the vice jaws mark the tops and im protective of my tools lol started coating up the mesh in the bar in satin black last week when i was doing some other stuff, hopefully get that back on sometime in the near future, just too busy these days
  21. Cheers its getting there, just cant wait to drive it around again - but i know you know that feeling lol ebay search the following to get the set i got : 7pc 4140 Dimple Die Set (#160548222631)
  22. Thanks andrew - need to do that 10mm drop in the rear though yeah he is back
