  1. waits to see if steve saves the day you wouldnt jump start the PFC ... i was making a joke checkout what Coastlife said about the fuses
  2. how does it go sticking to the alloy without some kind of etch primer ??? can just see it flaking off..
  3. hope you mean jump starting the power FC and not the car
  4. should have elaborated a little.. the AVCR works fine when using the std ECU, but not at all when using the power FC. edit - did yours crank over and just not start when your PFC fried ?
  5. joel, from what Victor has told me. it stays on the RB25DET version screen and doesn't continue through that point to the menu's. he was able to get in there ONCE while at hitmans to turn off the boost control. he told me also that the AVCR doesn't have any values for INJ/TPS etc coming to it. also what i found was strange, he said it doesn't Crank over when turning the key to start.
  6. lol that can be helpful sometimes too .. spotted some car show on foxtel tonight when i was on a smoko at work... 7.30pm American Hot Rod Make-A-Wish Car 1 Reality. (PG) 8.30pm Overhaulin' Beverly Hills Camaro Reality. PREMIERE Actor Ian Ziering is best know for playing the role of Steve Sanders on Beverly Hills 90210. 7. thats the problem i have, i have no high point bleeder, currently the highest water point in my engine bay is my turbo water feed hence looking into this setup, while im stuffing around getting a new high point that i can bleed the system off with.
  8. been looking at ways to do this might weld up my own and have a go.. just have to figure out how to weld up the first ones in the car, without burning everything :
  9. anyone spotted any torrents for this series?
  10. pretty damn sure Jago has done it on his car looks for memeber name Jago his was an RB20 though, same stuff and principal though
  11. oil based pod/filter element? not actually filtering and the particles sticking to the oil on the piping? you will alwasy have oil on the inlet tract as the std setup has the oil mist from the cam covers returning into teh system before the turbo
  12. Richard, the ARC kits look different to whats in the pics from exvitermini ... they seem to be really just a swirl pot and external header tank setup.. rather than pulling water from 3 places along the block .. still trying to et my head around this and look at ways it can be done with the rb25 head... main issue i have as to a reason to use a thing like this is due to the front facing plenum im using not retaining the radiator bleeder from the TB water feed, so i cant bleed the system 100% currently my other option is to try and include something like the justjap item like below but that wont even out the water temps from front to rear of the block... by the looks of the ARC kit, neither do they : - well the ones on nengun dont anyway

  14. reciprocating saw and die grinder are the best for these copy kits
  15. and this would do what? i used it on my std ones, no issues here after 5000kms
  16. is the oil feed banjo fitting done up tight? same witht the feed at the block end too.
  17. hahah yes, i got it FUNNEH
  18. when i used a metal gasket, my mechanic gave me a can of spray adhesive to use with it ... not at home so i cant tell you what it is called, but it didn't leak.
  19. up down left right is normal forward and back are the bad ones must have play since the bearings dont take up the slack til they are pressurised with oil..
  20. main thing here is WHY ? just remove th std staged boost and run 11psi all the time..
  21. yeah just cut a small section to allow them both to fit.. had mine like that for ages before i fitted a pod and box.
  22. okies then could still be an issue with lifters sticking and keeping the valves open..
  23. let us know if you do find them cheaper
  24. and the cost of the conversion? have a twin HKS at home, waiting to go in, solid centred.. but i can see it will need to be rebuild within a year
