  1. i placed mine WITHIN the dash where the mirror controls are normally location .. totally legal takes a bit of work though, need to fibreglass up a cup, then fibreglass that to the dash .. havent finished mine yet, should have a pic somewhere if your interested
  2. hmm could have had an ECU that ran a MAP sensor at some point.. if that is hooked up to the plenum and is open at the other end seal it up. what ECU do you have and getting tuned?
  3. can you get a closer photo.. and what is it hooked up to on the other end of it?
  4. does it do it with a full tank?
  5. right reading it twice would have helped lol yeah what brand guage is it? what brand hose did you buy to replace it? or did you just cut the original hose down?
  6. thread the hose throught the large nut .. then from the threaded side of the larger nut, fit the smaller seal. the action of doing up the larger fitting forces the smaller part into the seal area on the back of the guage.. there should be instruction for how to do this on the sheet supplied.
  7. check your radiator, make sure its not using water
  8. white smoke usually means a water problem not oil std oil lines running to a high flow is fine, no restrictor needed
  9. you can do it without removing the Harmonic Balancer .. its a pain in the arse, but can be done.. you will have to be very careful the belt is on the gear on the crank before attaching the cam gears..
  10. what colour is the smoke? has it actually been tuned since the new injectors were installed?
  11. hmm im thinking i should build a slapper .. std bottom end and deck the block to up the compression ratio using the std rb30e pistons. im running the HKS GT3040 you guys have been talking about .. i have both a 0.86 and 1.12 rear housing here so it will be interesting to see how it goes. on the RB25 with pon cams im getting full boost at 5000rpm on the 1.12 rear housing. would love to see how the RB30det would change the response on this turbo.
  12. you mean GTR's with good tyres are notorious for oil surge issues .. GTST's aren't nearly as likely to have these kinds of problems with normal street tyres.. even on the track
  13. N1 water pumps run the elongated hole as per www.nismo.com.au -- UAS
  14. thats about right... the ecu should have it set at 7000 or so, but the tacho's are usually inaccurate up there.
  15. this is true roy, but a pressure feed is a pressure feed.. running a boost crontrol from the thing where boost is measured makes more sense to me. just say in a higher boost situation where the intercooler is not working efficiantly then you will see a drop in pressure at the inlet plenum and possible rise turbo side of the cooler.. which would cause the wastegate to open further and reduce boost pressure at the plenum .. hence why alot of cars drop boost down the rev range. thats my reasoning for using a plenum based feed for the boost control..
  16. yeah there is an L shaped metal bend and a long rubber hose that is used straight off the turbo to where it exits the engine bay under the std airbox.. and the std cross over pipe is used.
  17. for the cost of the bulge/scoop and painting your bonnet, you might be better off spending a little more to get a front facing plenum and keep the car looking more standard .. plus the XR bulge probably wont be wide enough at the front where you need it. monaro nostrils look funneh
  18. only seen them here http://www.racingworks.com/gauge_misc.htm you could try calling Advan in silverwater NSW as they are the greddy dealers.
  19. yeah sweet didn't get to see your post til now, but thats pretty much what i did anyway:) cheers for that might end up redoing my panel with 2 stage lights and run the 2V LED's that aare the 7000mva or whatever .. see how it goes
  20. fatz used a fibreglass xr bump on the rb30e silvia he has, maybe he can give you a contact to get that for the car..
  21. what box where you using the. KPH seems wrong in the vid
  22. most oil temp sensors have a large probe. Greddy make a sump plug replacement that you can screw your sensor into.. if the swirling of the oil misses a sensor there, then your oil pickup wont be getting oil either ..
  23. true but i would suggest an oil cooler for everyone..
  24. hence my fatz sylvia special suggestion above
  25. most places i have spoken to suggest the Sump... as this is where you see the temp of the oil after it leaves the engine... same as water you measure AFTER it leaves the engine..
