black smoke out the back when this happens would suggest coils
could be fuel pump related .. try the direct earth for the fuel pump .. there is a thread by Cubes about it in this section.
can be AFM related too
bent valve will make a noise as the valve hit the seat
i wouldn't drive it anymore, it can damage the valve seat, which would be more money fixing the head
there are atlest 3 spots on the plenum you can use for a feed.
but on yours, hook up the in to the line of the turbos compressor housing like in the pic above, the out to the actuator.. you then use the boost guage feed at the back of the plenum to run the the controller box inside the cabin.
doubt it will be dangerous,
i run the mobil 1 5W50 and you will always have some degree of tick from the engine..
but if its worse, worth while making sure its not a turbo gasket or anything else
mine had a rubber flap on mine..
i believe it is there to allow the doors to close easily ie remove the pressure lock inside the car when you close the last door..
there is another vent like this on the drivers side rear quarter panel, under the car
have to disagree Joe.
you cannot spin the engine fast enough in this fashion.
the strength of the battery affects the speed of the starter motor when doing it in a car, which affects the results. most test results are between 100-200 rpm
the rings dont seal nearly good enough to seal at hand turning speed.
heya,
was looking through a conversion site for an RB25 into a 240z (which i would love to do) and yeah i can see in the pics that the RB25 has the hole in the block but doesn't use it due to the cooler,
will use the std RB25 location on the oil cooler as you did, and use the block feed for the VCT .
cheers for the help
looking at minimum $3000 for someone else to do the rebuild
just new pumps, rings and bearings.
-- hard to tell about engines unless they are still in a car, could try a comp test on a engine not in a car, but yeah, would be very hard lol
anyone know what the settings are on multimeters to check the AMPs drain on a battery while the cars are off..
trying to remember but cant, also the points on the battery and earth to check this would be helpful too.
the pcv valce should the the one way vale at the cam cover end of that pipe.
the never open when hot bolt and hoses are for water bleed for the radiator.
my suggestion,,, try to take it apart and see if you can see a faulty part,
if not im sure i have seen them for about $50 on the forums in the for sale section.
check it out
