  1. anyone replaced the felt lining stuff before? what was used that would be durable but still soft on the windows ??
  2. how do the globes like being powered by 14 volts though??? do you find they will blow out more often??
  3. heres some pics to help you work it out
  4. anyway to clean lifters prior to motor installation if the head has been sitting around?
  5. look around, i got a 550CCA sealed battery from my auto electrician for $115 ..
  6. there are 4 globes overall for the breaking section .. they are all dual element globes.
  7. there are 4 screws on the back that will remove the plastic light surrounds from the lights unit... you would then have the black section and red lights separate to the car coloured surrounds.
  8. try pauls site, see in the diagrams section there is a engine wiring diagram http://members.dodo.com.au/paul/ see if you can decipher it. lets us know how you go
  9. thats the throttle body.. petrol wont go near there.. check that rubber hose for a crack, and check your car for blow by - comp test etc
  10. BU5TER is revving past 8,000 on his RB26/30 with aftermarket balancer
  11. you wont need all that stuff dont need : plenum or Throttle body sard FPR low mount manifold - std would be fine for that typeturbo/power GT30R, will still be laggy even in the 0.64 rear housing trim .. full boost at about 4000rpm .. and is externally gated but should get your mid 12's goal.. then again a 2535 running 245rwkw can get 12.5 suggest something smaller like the 2835 .. check out the RB25 results thread .. anything will around 250-270 rwkw will get you the 12's your after
  12. never mind boost control issues with having a 7psi actuator with the boost controller motor trying to hold 18psi . you'll have fluctuations all over the shop .. maybe 14psi and 18psi but you can do all that with the right foot anyway
  13. hopefully no bore damage with that daniel .
  14. GTR's are top feed, as far as i can see .. collars are only for the RB25 side feed injectors ..
  15. depending on the turbo's, the rear AR will limit exhaust flow and thus limit power levels..
  16. garrett are the manufacturers for HKS and nissan turbos like IHI are for apexi and KKK for trust think thats right, but HKS is Definately made my garrett i dont know of any sites which teach you about trims etc, you pick it up along the way .. or wait for above to help out N1 i think run a 0.64 rear housing.. and would be close. .. but yeah .. HKS 2530 ran over 400rwkw on premium for Twoogle highflowing a brand name turbo that has been very well designed isa simply a silly idea.. you move to the next step production turbo and sell the one you have,, not guess at it and high flow it.. highflow stockers are usually very easy, relatively cheap and now able to produce good power..
  17. ---- none .. HKS usually use different trims on the turbines to achieve different results .. you'll also notice that most HKS rear AR's are different to garrett ones .. ie 0.61 - 0.87 and 1.12 in HKS .. but 0.64 - 0.84 and 1.06 in garrett type turbos.. as well as different trims and sizes etc ... look here for HKS 2530 specs http://www.bd4s.com.au/turbo_table.htm --- most of these come in the T28 flange type of the GTR --- tried and tested by big japanese companies.... usually better power results --- HKS > others IMO and there are plenty of results to back it up ... but thats not to say the garrrett are any worse .. just different characteristics -- personnaly for me its HKS - garrett then highflow there wouldn't be an answer to this .. there are many setups within these turbos re: rear housings etc .. i wouldn't high flow an HKS turbo ... usually the highflows are done on consistently producted turbos . ie Z32, R33,R32,R34 etc etc
  18. *waits for Doughboy and Discopotato
  19. might try out the gooved ones, after i swap in the BCP7R-11 at 0.8 gap .. and split fires.. 0.6 gap on the std coils is missing too much.... this is my job for the weekend.. whats the price differences on the BKR vs BCP series NGK's?
  20. not having an R34 its hard for me to say .. they usually have wiring going into a plate with 4 bolts that is the cover .. undo that and you will see the fuel lines and the 2 plugs
  21. seconded .. 294 rwkw here with 550cc and 044 pump.. think the injectors are trimmed to like 70 % and only reach about 90% duty .. but yeah anything that spools up at the same or earlier than std turbos and produces more power would be a nice streetable setup.
  22. check the fitting on the tank .. there are 2 plugs . one for fuel pump with 2 wires... one with 3 wires for the fuel level sender .. could be earthing out somewhere on the signal wire which would make it show as empty
  23. yes you'll see that power laggy depends on the housing you have.. mine is getting full boost @ around 5000rpm with a 1.12 rear housing.. i have just picked up an 0.87 housing, yet to put it on and see .. so can be laggy, depending on what other things you use with it .. tune (timing advance off boost etc), boost controller, waste gate spring setting etc etc etc . could only expect better response on an rb26 .
  24. at least $5000 at a workshop
  25. yeah id consider that with cam gears, but not cams themselves ..
