  1. why are you looking for a 550hp fuel pump? what are your power goals, with 550cc injectors and a 044 im not even coming close to max duty with 290+ rwkw you want internal or external pump? thinking most 550 hp pumps will be external..
  2. yes mines like that picture, only with a reducer for the z32..
  3. BOV is where the washer bottle used to be with the plazmaman plenum .. more of a "i cant be arsed making a pipe from one side of the engine bay to the other for the BOV" lol stop pointing out my lazyness lol
  4. std bottom end was what i refering to... main thing was with Sky30's post refering to his 35/40 cracking 300kw @ 18-19 psi... and thats a rb30det. there are things that can help reduce the psi required for certain power levels..
  5. plazma man plenum, custom highmount setup, HKS GT3040 1.12 rear housing. tomei pon cams 256 /8.5 power FC and 550cc sards, sard 1:1 fpr, Z32 afm laggy now, but will be better suited once the rb30det is completed. full boost of 18psi at 4700rpm.
  6. could be running bigger cams to help bring down the boost level, dont really know specs of the engine.. im getting 294 rwkw with teh std RB25 @ 18psi, but with tomei pon cams.. maybe some more details on the motor will help make that tune results make more sense.
  7. they have blocked off the rocker cover vent, it will stop any oil mist entering the engine at vacuum. this is a good thing and will not harm anything. they just bypassed it into a oil catch can..
  8. i have similar sort of issues when backing off, but i just think its the non recirc BOV thats causing it. i have 100mm inlet .. then a 45 bend in 100mm stainles, then to a 80mm reducer to the Z32 afm .. no room for the recric to really go, i'll try to post some pics, but i dont know how the length of the pipe would affect the idle.
  9. the GCG hiflow of the RB25 would be able to supply much more air than the 2530.. think the R34 RB25 turbo is good for near 270rwkw on the rb25 2535 is good for about 250ish on an rb25
  10. very cool idea.. definately going to be using this idea. Thumbsup
  11. do you really like that tip? cos you could just buy another one to replace it. either that, drill a hole in it. then hack it out with a reciprical saw (motorised hacksaw) up to you, looks wise id get a new one personally
  12. bar and plate flow better with less cooling tube and fin cool better but more likely to drop pressure. most coolers now are tube and fin.
  13. Dave, checked mine yesterday.. they are tapered.. and way too hard lol from memory they are the 12kg ones from the website. might rip them out and do the measurements to see what rate they really are. unless the have a part number on the spring.
  14. best way to see if you just bought the car is to take it for a dyno tune.. check the power FC's tune .. make sure the AFR's are good for the AVCR - see the manuals section of Paulr33 from these forums site here http://members.dodo.com.au/paul/ i wouldn't go pumping more boost into it till your on the dyno... just so you dont damage anything.. might cost you a couple of hundred, but better safe than sorry.
  15. yeah exactly... but no mention of cams.. i have the 1.12 housing on a HKS GT3040 on a std rb25 with tomei cams.. im getting full boost at 4700rpm where as i have seen a GT30 turbo with a 0.84 reach full boost at the same rpm without cams.. Col - thats what im hoping to get full boost at once my rb30 is finished.
  16. i think it will boost real real quick, then it'll choke up top due to not enough flow through the exhaust.. just what i think will be the outcome. remember that the rb30 has more exhaust gases due to the increased capacity.. so the 5000rpm example would be lower on a RB30DET
  17. you mean .106 or 1.06 ?? if it was a typo and you meant 1.06 then expect full boost up around 5000 rpm on a std rb25.
  18. how have you setup the breathers for the cam covers? if its return then only a compresion test would tell you the rings arent bedded in properly.. if comp is ok, get the turbo checked.
  19. ( edited cos i was wrong ) ball bearing turbos are reported to have better spool times, but might require a oil restrictor to limit the turbos oil flow. same life span for each if oil and cooling is maintained.
  20. take the car to the builders and get them to check it, they built it they should look after it.. sounds like what i had when i bent a valve installing cams, its easy to do.
  21. people may be able to look via the nissan fast software .. funkeymonky has it... not sure if it'll work that way does it have the igniter pack at the back of the engine?
  22. the Throttle position sensor is different.. looks like 2 units instead of one. pre sept 97 engines run the same cam base circle as S1 RB25's .. post sept 97 run a different base circle so the cams are different. the AFM on S2 has pink sticker and 3 wires .. S1 is green and 4 wires thats all i can think of atm
  23. is it true that play dough / moulding clay doesn't stick to the resin? or do you have to seal it?
  24. only turbo i've heard whistle had big end float.
