  1. well we know that the 2.3 ish mm oil feeds work with only one feed .. so we could either have the feeds restricted further - say to 1.1mm OR block one off and increase the size of the single feed ... not sure exactly if either of these would be possible.. but worth checking. but at over $1K for the nismo oil pump .. might be happy using the RB25 unit i have here (provided it checks out to be ok)
  2. who is this question for? im running a HKS 3040 with a 1.12 rear housing ... so thats why i was looking at a higher RPM limit.. still making pretty good power as it is .. but not pushing the turbo at all.
  3. i would think that it would be easier to take the cam cover off and move the cam with a spanner to the desired position .. since your only trying to move one thing rather than moving the crank and the inlet cam .. either a big shifter or a open ended spanner will fit on the hex section on the cam closest to the gear.
  4. wonder if the NEO solid lifters would be able to be used in the earlier model RB25's ..
  5. have already spoken to my mechanic about the oil issues within the head . basically honing out the return lines for the oil has the same effect .. he has doen this with a mates CA18DET after it blew the bottom end with that issue.. might also try blocking one of the feed lines. also a process like port matching used on the oil galleries/feeds to assist in the oils movement through the block and head. probably would keep the RB25 oil pump though, still street driven and might still have the lower revs.. but 7500rpm would be nice due to the size of the housing. have read a bit on those harmonic issues cracking the pumps in the rb30 thread .. got some details from another thread with the picture of the crank collar ... good news and would be worth it!
  6. this collar is to run the N1 oil pump? are they in SA ?
  7. well the bonus i guess is that i can use the poncams that i have already and see what results i get, then decide later if an upgrade is required. the head has been modified already (bretts old RB25) so it should have the clearance for the larger cams already so the head wont need to come back off ..
  8. yeah i chatted to BU5TER about his when i picked up the head .. just seeing rev limits etc.. might not need to rev that high, but thats the aim. alot of pages in that rb30 thread .. will search it for the pump snouts, remember reading about them. aim is as close to 400rwkw as i can get .. due to the 1.12 rear housing im looking for as much flow as i can get it to widen the power curve .
  9. any idea on whether the HKS 264 degree cams need any mods of cam springs etc?
  10. yeah will call em, only thing is i wanna build it fairly slowly as i dont have that bulk cash to get it all done now.. and the 294rwkw from the std RB25 is still fine for me atm ..
  11. http://hioctaneracing.com.au/eshop/product...&products_id=67 http://hioctaneracing.com.au/eshop/product...&products_id=39 these are still being advertised by hi-octane.. but thats alot of cash ontop of the cam purchase ... are these the kits mentioned earlier?
  12. im currently running 294rwkw on std internals, just using a cometic metal head gasket.. the gt30r example above - 2 people running it - are both on std engines with std gaskets.. so he should be fine as long as the tune is not lean
  13. Starting the build of the Rb30, just picked up the RB25 det head (already modified for larger lift cams) just looking at camshaft options atm.. currently have tomei poncams in my std RB25, but was looking to upgrade to other cams in the rb30/25. was looking at cams around the 270 to 272 degree mark, but can only find the tomei procams of 270 degree for the S1 RB25.. hks dont seem to have a listing for the pre '97 head . also need some confirmation of what types of solid lifters and valve springs are required with cams of this size, with revs limited to about 7500-8000 rpm been reading through a lot of threads and seem to have figures on people use of them but not much detail .. any and all info would be great. cheers Chris
  14. gt 30 r lowmounted with external gate in kit form can be purchased and installed for about $6000 that can give about 275rwkw on std engine with ok response on a 0.64 housing.. all you need is engine management then..
  15. with old coil packs and running 18 psi, i had to go down to 0.6 with some "6" range coppers .. still blowing out up the top though... just under 300rwkw new coils have arrived, hoping to run back to around 0.8 if possible..
  16. yeah awesome... any chances of getting some in full size? awesome driving shots.. new backgrounds for work, and even get some blown up and printed
  17. oh .. hahah far enough  he was hanging out of the passenger side after homebush ... never got to meet him once we reached the destination lol oops my bad
  18. meh - double post
  19. yeah think it was the BOV leaking then .. that plug not working shouldn't have affected the spool time.. only other running stuff and stalling. still keen for the pics form E_Lu-shun's mates Pics .. he was everywhere taking shots
  20. you were fine on the way home werent you? it wouldn't have caused any issues other than that sattilng... was thinking too that perhaps your std BOV might have been leaking... hence the boost issues before 3000 etc .
  21. OH YEAH!! thanks heaps for that .. saved me having to over take him later
  22. cheers Adam ... the exhaust is very nice, had some very nice comments on it ... shame thats all i heard as i didn't have any tunes going in her ... no radio lol there was heaps of nice cars there, i still find it hard to match them to the people on the forums my coils just turned up about an hour ago, now just need the new wastegate and i'll be out there on boost ... the cams definately help with off boost driveability!!
  23. definately a big thanks to Charlie ... those drinks were a life saver!! and yeah, off boost for the day was interesting, but could still get her to 5000 rpm without building boost with the right throttle inputs, so i could still go
  24. hahahah fair call .. toped out at 5.5 psi on the way down , and 1 psi on the way home ... always soo tempting but if that hose busted i would have been walking home ... thats a long way lol
  25. hahah was alright.. where did you pop out from? driving all that way offboost was not that great for me great day, and was good to have all the catch up meets along the way.. Great day, big thumbs up for the organisers !!!
