  1. i'll take the C's short shift for the r33 if you'll COD it to sydney .. i'll pay the postage costs!
  2. whats the plug suit? got a pic of it?
  3. do they make a few of those plenums? do you know what they retail for?
  4. cool design the parcel shelf.. was it factory .? free bump for ya Shan!
  5. first thing would be that you couldn't use the std manifold with the external gate unless you make a spacer between the manifold and the turbo flange. thus it be a close fit for a gt30 to sit low mounted with a spacer plate in place. wouldn't it be easier to run your engine in with the std turbo etc, then get a manifold and dump pipes built specifically for your setup? you mentioned using the std turbo for 500km, just use this to the full 2000km then have the setup finished with everything and tune it up then. sounds like a lot of double up work to get the end result.
  6. if you buy one buy good boots before you ride ... my ankle snapped like a twig with just shoes on last week... and leathers and gloves too...
  7. ok, the brother of the owner and i created a new one for the passenger side, the easiest thing i could suggest you could do is to create a JIG from your existing one including templates for the end plates, hole locations etc this would allow you to get these done extremely cheaply. and be easier than us designing them for you since we are using engine mounts from a jap spec corrolla (dont ask - they were already on it) take the JIG and the existing ones to an engineer, this would allow them to ceate them without having to work it all out, hence they just cut the steel and welding it for you.. would be stronger and the they wouldn't have to spend much time creating them. which will make it cheaper. take most of the labour out of the equation. the gearbox mount was simply a standard gearbox mount with the centre modified and a reinforcement plate welded to it to align with the mounting holes on the ca18 box ... not too much work involved, although the gearbox and everything is back in the car so i cant get photos for you. we have welded the new rear quater skirts and tailgate back on to remove the rust, the modified lower control arms have been lengthened and reinforced .. they are bolted back in , just waiting on the new custom sway bars to arrive. adjustable strut tops are in place.. just have to find a shock setup to allow a high level of lowering while maintaining a wide range of motion before bottoming out. can you confirm if the front suspension of an MR2 is usable on these? oh and use a higher grade of steel on the engine mounts.. what rubbers are you using? try and find something that has a harder compound.. as ours are a bit soft to cope with the ca18's power/torque movements.
  8. like the CA18det's?
  9. thats a good point .... might have a look into it a bit more. thats why i was asking around to see if what i said is viable!
  10. Just had a thought. What if for drifting you ran a water to oil cooler, obviously running a thermostat to keep oil at desired temps. thought this could be useful for drifting since you dont always get direct air into the cooler. that have used the on the CA18's before. setup similar to a water to air cooler. anyone see any flaws, improvements that can be made?
  11. LOL yeah . get that same issue with the right thumb only thing thast out me off the cbr is how thin they are, the zxr are wider nin the tank and feel alot bigger!
  12. thats a good point, if you ride along way and get back pain etc then something like a vtr250 would be better - more upright sitting position. i do over 100km a day on the zxr, can get sore if wearing a back pack etc!

  14. Just bought a ZX2R - 93 model great bikes, bigger than a CBR250, they go well and are definately Learner Legal. If you have been driving for a while and have no issues riding a push bike, then i would think it'll be pretty easy to learn to ride on the road, everyone does say learn on the dirt- if you do come off it wont be as bad, but if your confident and can learn quick then i dont see an issue. i have had my l's for 2 weeks, and its all natural etc for me. if your not confident don't go into traffic at first, not that i did that
  15. you would have to organise that separately through jetscolour which is behind them, but separate!
  16. ok, so what probe would work with this unit? would have to match it exact for it to be accurate.
  17. can you add a pic of the probe on the end of the exhaust temp guage. cheers
  18. LOL - yeah .. sounds like a good deal!
  19. sounds pretty good have you seen any of it yet? maybe alot worse than you think, but hey . you can fix it up and sell it, stil make a profit!
  20. how much was the set?
  21. what price are the RE55's going for? i was thinking of getting some of the second hand tyres from the saloon cars.. about $200 a set since they are the same size as my rims, gotta be better than the crappy tyres i have always used. $200 every 2 months, the tyres should last that long.
  22. can anyone post a pic of them here, cause my work proxy wont let me view them and the net at home aint working cheers
  23. also where is it understeering? corner entry? mid corner? if its corner entry perhaps checking the toe in on the front would help as well, bit of toe out will improve the turn in at corner entry!
  24. whats your impression of the re540's that the saloon cars run Duncan?
