  1. i didn't see those other replies.... Fro- the reason i said that the rear mount would be a problem is that the gearbox needs linkages running from the shift to the box - this would be a huge hurdle for us to jump and dont wanna have to work out extra stuff like this if we dont need to.. plus the handling characteristiccs of the rear mount dont suit my driving style (my mate has a SW20GT) the 3SGTE would be the easiest as i would only need to extend the linkages to the centre of the car (longer wheel base) enilyks33r - nice suggestion! didn't think of anything like that, however i dont really have any inclination to get her registered and go through all that hassle - never mind the huge cost for that to happen if not everything goes through first time! croat - hmm i'll be doing both!
  2. LOL - that killed the thread! anyway - can you be a bit more specific on locations as i have no idea where you are heading from!
  3. spotted silver SII R33 on windsor RD - turning in towards the fiddler
  4. i found ep 5, works fine dubbing good too (not that i'd know any different)
  5. cheers, i'll try to find a copy!
  6. couldn't find episodes 5 and 6 - any hints
  7. LOL - yeah but i cant cut it up and make it into something completely original now can I ???
  8. please explain where!! Msian? dont want 4wd too much money involved with engine transmission and 2 diffs .
  9. yeah i realised that i wouldn't be able to race it in a CAMS series, but forgot about supersprints etc ... this is sounding like a better idea by the day yeah whole rear subframe will have to change, just has the independant rear bolted direct to the chasis, so the end will be cut out and a new 7.5" diff welded in! yeah should rebuild the CA's cause we got all the parts! plus the car is under1000Kg's so it should go well just as a stocker!
  10. hey, thats what i was not hoping for oh well doesn't really matter about cutting it out and welding the new stuff in as it doesn't have to get engineered or anything! is that the new Autosalon magazine? might get it and read up on what they did!
  11. i didn't have to cut anything ran a parcel shelf of 18mm MDF then a small lifter piece to bring up the area around the 6X9's to 36mm... fits perfect i'll take a photo tomorrow and post it up!
  12. anyone know how a CA18DET would go without the turbo fitted ??
  13. didn't think you could separate the parts! might be interested in blinker lens for that side myself!
  14. hey john, yeah like i said, this wont cost me much at all.. just have to get an engine! i actually have got 2 CA18DET blocks at a mates so i could rebuild those and use that .. outlay cash on a g/box and i can get diffs for like almost nothing and all the work i can do myself which costs nothing! and i am basically stripping the whole thing anyway .. only things staying is shell and steering rack and front suspension wouldn't get much for those things anyway
  15. i wouldn't suggest cutting anything... just make a new parcel shelf.. can take it out later and will not affect anything structural within the car!
  16. im with JimX!!!
  17. have you got a boost guage in the car? how bad is the jerking?
  18. what have you tried already? DBA are good rotors- and the cheapest good quality ones i've seen wouldn't really need drilled rotors would you? added cost for those!
  19. isnt it automatic loss for 6 months for over 140km/h anywhere, plus the 6 points loss and over 40kp/h is 6 months as well! unlucky dude, but this will go to court anyway i would think.. then it's up to the judge!
  20. hmm true i didn't think of that.. but rear mount would have it's own problems, couldn't imagine how you'd hook up the linkages from the gear selector to the box! could look into something like a 3sgte or something
  21. could i have a pick of the exhaust temp sensor and guage please!! [email protected] thanks!
  22. thanks for the inputs linda!! anyway... back on topic! i dont really want this car to be on the road, and dont really wanna outlay any money for the shell, plus its a good start to making different cars seeing we'll be doing all the work ourselves! pentae, true it will be heaps of work, but i'll still be selling the engine and g/box, and all the interior etc.. so basically the only thing left would be what would go off to the scrap heap.. can get the materials for the tunnel and tube frame for free....... so why not do this definately something different Flipmo, yeah i realise the EW setup for current engine but the firewall is actually bent already.. will be cutting it out and welding in a new tunnel so i'll be able to mount the engine back behind the front strut to get a better weight distribution...
  23. any inspiration provided through the day would be good!! have a big one!
