  1. jason, pretty sure it cust the spark, hence the puffs of black smoke out the back when it happens
  2. i've looked into that idea superspit, would be a VERY sloe fit to get the 2" guages in there!! have you already done it??
  3. im pulling a sickie on sunday night
  4. Oh OK, wasn't sure what their min wheel size was...... there goes that idea
  5. you could get a set of 16" rims at 225.. and fit the semi slicks used by commodore cup cars only $250 a corner, thats if 16" will fit. that way you can have those tyres just for the track and spend less on tyres!!
  6. i thought you already sold the shell?
  7. saw the funniest thing at autobahn in penrith.... they had an alloy 2 level wing (like the cwest ones... but not) for sale.. description on the ticket was "fully Sik double wing" damn i was laughing heaps!!
  8. Matt, how'd you go with the plastic welding?
  9. just like their plastic roll cage like things that have no padding!! b/s in my opinion but there isn't much we can do! i'll those pics up soon too, camera wasn't at home today!!
  10. true, but there is one supra racing in NSW state championships... improved production i think.. would have to look into it! goes OK, not winning any rounds that i've seen! sure it could be done, depends on budget and competition etc.. are you thinking of just doing a track day, not curcuit racing?
  11. why not buy a boomarang, then fibreglass it and connect it to steel struts... not too hard to do yourself!!
  12. just checked it, max of 12 degrees -- dont think it's snowing!
  13. hmmmm.. that would be interesting!! i know it was snowing in cooma but thats a fair bit further down south than wakefield (Goulburn) hmmm will check a weather report online!!
  14. if you have them in a pod, they are less likely to pick it up unless they go over your car.. but if you have cups and open guages they see em when you drive past etc... been done twice when i had some on the pillar! (granted it was a monsta tacho and boost- but it looked good)
  15. i wouldn't think that you would need one if thats all you really do.... all about how far your gonna go with it! if you get into track days (which you will if you get out to one) it might come in handy.. just a prevention thing more than anything else!
  16. i'll get photo's of mine tomorrow, and post em up. i only use my boost guage if i suspect something might be happening with the feel of the cars acceleration.. not something that i constantly look at!! on the pillar is just easy to spot when driving past etc!!!
  17. in my case, i used to do alot of track days, and with the front mount etc the cooling efficiency is greatly reduced through the radiator! the addition of the oil cooler not only maintains the effectiveness of the oil your using, it adds the total engine cooling!
  18. rs73, im pretty sure your just not allowed to block the speedo, everything else is fine! mate of mine had his engineered with mosta tacho and boost guage in the guage area, speedo was clear though!
  19. nasty.. but aslong as it works now, it's all good!!
  20. the calendar doesn't seem to really show whos coming down!
  21. polishing wheel on a drill works wonders! bit hard to go right over it though!
  22. usually when the water pump bearings go they start to leak from the bottom of the pumps pulling unit! cant comment on the vl turbo pumps, but even if there are extra holes the sealant you put around to make a gasket will seal those anyway! oh and the N1 pump runs lower pressure than standard, it designed to be revved alot so normal driving will have lower water pressure!
  23. that is definately a wierd one, unless the ECU has been chipped! but redline is 7000rpm and speed cust should come in just past 180km/h any stickers on the ecu? any things plugged into ecu, my SLD is stuck to the back of the ECU!
  24. i put together a kit myself getting the parts from motorsport connections in seven hills - nsw cost about $550 in parts, would have been cheaper if i didn't get the thermostat. i used an oil cooler from a 7 series BMW, they are real big tube and fin alloy cores(as wide as my FMIC! got it for $50 so im pretty happy, there is alot of fiddling to get it in there but it can happen... that kit like jlnewton would be ideal if you can get a kit like that! really depends on what your gonna do with your car bambinator!
  25. hmmm, for around 300 you would need at least a GT2835 or above, but the response will suffer the further up you go in power (well for street anyway!)
