  1. ahhhh, very true! its only 2 weeks away, would it take you a while to run up over 1000kms??
  2. so you might still make it merli? more the merrier!!
  3. is there oil in the piping before the turbo????
  4. i havent needed to bleed my brakes at all since i've had the car.. well only when the fluid got flushed!! but no you shouldn't need to touch the bleeder valve, just need to use a bit of muscle!!
  5. yeah they will take a fair hiding! really depends on what compound they are! i've always gone down with cheaper sime tyres on it that last for atleast 4 track days plus normal driving! the softer and better the grip= shorter time they will last!
  6. edit-- sorry i thought i was in another thread!!!
  7. i would have thought if the turbo was sealed then pressure would be an issue! unless there was too much pressure then the seal would have blown and need replacing!!
  8. Jason, they ECU has 3 bolts holding it in, one on firewall and two on other end! Damo, mine has a clear platic sticker with Jap writing over the screw.. it's within the hole and needs a small flat head screw driver! if it has no LED's then just turn clockwise all the way the turn it back!
  9. shonen, with your tires i would get them before you go down if your gonna push pretty hard, depends on your driving style there too! also if they are pretty soft compound tires they will take a bit of a beating! i would get new ones and do at least 500km on them before you head down!! im still good for this day should be bringing at least 2 cars with me on the day too! hey Tosh, you got a number on how many coming so far?
  10. you just try not to fall in!! have trackies an stuff in the boat ready! snowboarding.. mad where are you heading? im just organising a trip now... might end up being in NZ! see if i can get it all organised and paid for in time for this season!
  11. mine didn't have the LED's but it did have the screw (94 model) where are you looking at the ecu? have you pulled it right out? on this note i thought it good to mention that when i did mine it came up all good code 55.. but this happened even when i disconnected my injectors, CAS,AFM and water temp sensor.. so i dunno how helpful it is!!
  12. or just use a spanner or screwdriver, push one side in all the way, then install that sides pad, then push the other side in.. no need to bleed the brakes to change these over! you might need to bleed them if you didn't close the bleed plug while still pushing on the piston!
  13. if your using coppers then it is fine to regap them, only issue is with platinum is the coating cracks off if gap is changed! i use .8 with same mods as you!!
  14. damn things are slow tonight! anyway, we dont really go out much in winter.. but do only dock starts and try not to wash out! most of the guys just go out in just the normal gear but dont stay out long!
  15. true! hope it's warm enought though - hate to be you if you get in and it aint LOL
  16. so are you still working on it now? what have you done so far to isolate this issue?
  17. well if it is blowby coming from the PCV valve in the rocker cover then it would be going into the intake anyway (black pipe crossing the covers ontop of engine) ... so that can explain oil in the cooler too! take the pipe off the top of the engine and see if there is wet oil in there- a healthy engine shouldn't have heaps of oil in the pipe! if it runs out of that then it's ring lands if not then the turbo is gone! or you can get a leak down tester from autoone or something and test it that way. it will have instructions with it!
  18. I'll be taking that fron bar from you too BOOSTD! i'll come around on monday morning and grab it from you.. hopefully it fits in the car!!
  19. LOL- keepin it simple!! Franks - if we go out during winter we usually just try to stay above the water.. dock starts etc! but if you need some prices on stuff PM me on what you want i should be able to get some prices on it for ya!
