  1. i fixed my bad consumption issue!!! Fix: mad big thrash fest on friday night on the galston cruise!!! fuel economy back to normal 450km a tank
  2. the only downside to a lightened flywheel is for uphill momentum, since the flywheel is direct onto the engine, a higher weight one will maintain momemtum easier but reduce response, lightened will lose momentum but respond better!!! it's about response more than power. i have the super light from UAS, pretty good! have noticed it easier to stall for people who havent driven these cars before as it is added to the strong clutch rate too!!
  3. well my car is a manual, but the split dump pipe i installed was really good! with more boost in just increased the ease of the car to rev out, alot smoother power up top! cant say if more, but the curve is ALOT better!!!
  4. yeah, as long as cops cant see the light too brightly at night it should be OK!! just turn em off when you get pulled over, then they got no proof, cause you can have them installed just not on when driving!!!
  5. funnily enough after the cruise of friday night up to the same place, the only time we had trouble with the cops was at maccas!!!!! it's my guess that if we never went to maccas that we would not have had any issues!! pretty funny overall!!!! guess we wont be going up there anytime soon without any issues, hope this isnt the case!!!
  6. yeah any internal lighting apart from standard are illegal, causes "distractions". stupid but true
  7. Cheers for all the info there Henros, i know i'll be giving it a go! easier than replacing the bulbs all the time!!! question about setp 8, is that plugging straight into the original socket from the wedge globe? no mods needed here? cheers again
  8. yeah i guess i didn't make that bit clear! noticed with my R33 that the caster rods also increased toe in, which is good for straight line but not the best for corners! will have to find a way around that!
  9. caster is the angle of the suspension from the road surface to the strut top! increasing this will allow the wheels to find centre better, and allow better turn in! will increase the resistance of the turn but feel alot better! there is more technical info out there, but that should be ok. an example is nearly every drift car, if you watch the in car videos you can see the speed of the wheel moving when the driver lets go round a corner, this is mainly caused by the amount of caster dialled into those cars!!
  10. if you have the paint code, go to an auto repairers and ask them to mix it for you!!!! wont be like an off the shelf thing!!!
  11. DAMN, just found this thread!! would have loved one!
  12. Yeah brand and details would be great!!! are they just a replacement bulb cause they look alot beeter than the standard parkers!!
  13. yeah, agree with everyone. GREAT NIGHT! had the best fun i've had in a while for sure! maybe we find a way not to use the ferry though, damage to the front bar after coming off the other side, all good apart from that!! Good to meet all the guys, many great cruises to come..........

In regards to putting it on a standard car, you have to get someone to rub the car back with like 1000 - 2000 grid paper, then spray the pearl and clear, then spray the top coat clear!! so maybe $400 for paint, $200 for the booth and maybe $500 - $1000 for labour!!

GTBO55, you can actually use pearl both ways!! the difference is in the result! if you add it to a base coat clear (no gloss) it will come up alot more prominant and look like its over the top!! when you add it to the paint, it takes alot more pearl to get as strong an effect, but is easier to match if you know the ratios!!! as to adding it ontop of another colour, if its durin the respray it will be easier and cheaper, i paid about $100 for a litre of PPG gold pearl plus the litre of base clear for about the same, then add thinners and hardener!! but i still have about 750ML of pearl left for my next project My paint job has 1.5 coats pearl with clear and 2.5 coats normal clear!!! half coats being mainly a dust coat of the surface!! there are heaps of pearl colours you can choose from, so get the paint shop to show you a few!!

hey Zoix, what is the base colour? the problems is you need to know how it was done to get the right effect!! if the pearl was sprayed over the top with a clear base coat it will be alot easier to match the colour, but if they mixed the pearl with the base colour then it gets trickier!!! get a good painter to do it and they will be able to match it pretty close.

yeah it's the new falcon blue with slight gold pearl!!! direct light it is still the blue, then it moves from gold tinge to aqua in other lights!!! The gold pearl stripes change alot too!
