  1. yeah it does have the bit at the top but you cant use it cause only a socket will make it to the bolt, the top plate rises up an covers the bolt so you cant use a spanner!! try the multigrips tomorrow!! thanks
  2. got mine for $23K 2 years back, 94 model with 53,000 km. only thing it had wrong with it was the wheel well was dented, easily fixed with a hammer and a bit of would, they must have hit a low pole caused nothing else had been panel beated or replaced!! bit of a bagain
  3. if you are after caster rods, why nod upgrade to adjustable ones make a bit of difference to your turn in.
  4. thats only to get the whole suspension setup off the car, i have to remove the top plate to replace the actual spring only!! need to remove the centre bold in pic, so the top plate gets removed freeing up the spring!
  5. Thanks Jimx, thats where i was heading!! But thanks for the tip MSRB26, would have been an issue if i didn't know that
  6. Just the way they are, have seen some places selling kits tohave both on at the same time, cant remember where though. IMOH they look cool seperate, and very handy when you want someone to move out of the way at night
  7. I'll be in for it!!!
  8. Hey people, just needs some tips for changing the springs on a 1999 lancer! got the lowered springs, but having trouble removing the upper bolt from the shock absorber shaft!! They are a really strange design so that there is no way to get a spanner onto the top nut, socket fits but nowhere to hold the shaft to stop it spinning!! Any suggestions would be great, post a pic, but it didn't really show the best angle!! Cheers in advance!!
  9. I know, but payday isn't til friday will have to see what i can arrange!! and hey he's even close to home
  10. yeah but are they the standard map from apexi or has it been tuned already?
  11. any maps on it already? or is it standard tune?
  12. Aawwww, good thing for you so the one way is only "locked" on acceleration right? so this helps with more stability under acceleration, whats does it do under braking/deceleration?
  13. HEHE, i learnt to left foot brake on the weekend, not by choice it was my mates car, and the biggest POS VK commonwhore that needed left foot braking so it didn't stall havent really used LFB on the track yet!!
  14. Hard luck Duncan, but if it hasn't been hit with anything, i'd be taking it back!!! seems wierd that she got to hot, i was at wakefield a awhile back and somehow had nearly the entire contents of my radiator sprayed throughout the engine bay and half way down the side of the car!!! Didn't know this til i came back in, was cooling her down when i noticed that it didn't go down below 3/4, SLOWLY put about 3 or so litres of water in it, all fixed and temp went down, but never had and problems since then!!! WIERD.......
  15. nice, thats a mad bonus there Duncan were did you source that?
  16. hey meggala, any chance of getting these off you somehow?
  17. strutto, the point i was trying to make was not about control, but that pushing a shitter to it's limit on the street is less likely to land us without a licence and a huge fine since the speeds would be so much different! I love the way the power of my skyline has saved me in multiple situations, allowing to get out of situations that the old shitter would have been totalled in! i woldn't trade her for anything less, BUT we were talking about spirited drives and as you said "Skylines require lots more road and runoff area to enjoy them to their fullest"
  18. 240sx ????
  19. 51jay, i dont know if you are a grumpy old man, but i think you actually helped our statements!! it's not about "racing around suburban streets" its about what those SLOW cars have to do, to keep up!! I've been there had the shitter, now got a skyline!! and i enjoy it, but after losing my licence for speeding, when this "high performance car" is made for going fast, i have to consider that the thrill of being able to take what it is your driving to it's limits, and doing it well, that is half the fun!!!!!!! Ask Duncan, hes driving the daewoo's cup, is that because he doesn't understand why people buy high performance cars? so move past the whole boy racer thing, terrorising the city streets, and thinkn about a complete driving experience!! oh by the way, long live the skyline/.
  20. sweet, as long as diff centres are the same it wont matter! will start looking into it!
  21. i know what your saying roy, on the street it seems that trying to go fast is more enjoyable to being able to go fast easy had the same thing in my old lancer, that was challenging to get it to go fast, taught me heaps about driving fast and handling (mainly cause it didn't)...
  22. true, good point!! will look into it when i get some dosh, will make a bit of difference on the track, way to much spin out of the corner!! would there be a difference in the abs and non abs diff's?? mines non abs, do you know what kind of difference that would make on the track, mostly is if you actually locked up, or do they brake better in general?
  23. got the same noise as does everyone i know with pillow balls joints!! just seems to be the way things go, used to be worse but found that the nuts on the joints used to come loose, lock nuts fixed her up, but stil having that little annoying knock!!
  24. duncan, iv'e the old unlimited diff problem as well, actually should make it an unpredictable unlimited 'ish' slip diff what kind of info have you got on diff replacements? only thing ive seen was the upgraded one from UAS, but at $1200 exchange it looks a little too expensive at this point in time!!
