  1. when you open the boot look down, you see the lock! move inside the boot and you see the plastic cover over where the lock is!! there should be a hole in it, pull on the hole and the littl;e door will open up, just inside is the switch, right near where the boot cable meets the lock!!
  2. on the r33 it is on the lock not the bootlid, just open the little door in the plastic cover and flick the switch!!
  3. TKO, so if the 5% comes in bigger rolls then i can see why you think they could be crap!! But considering i only had to pay about $150 and he did it in the dark with a torch, he did a bloody good job!! one question i do have for you, the custom tints you do with the designs is that layed under the other tint, or is it outside, can you explain for me how it is done?
  4. LOL - go us aussies!!!
  5. what does it actually do? strength over normal? just curious for this CA rebuild
  6. back and sides are good, front needs work!! the rear grille is very mr2ish in my view. but overall seems pretty cool, more aggresive than the current design!! if only i could read what was said about
  7. remember that 35% is legal limit..... BUT 5% is great, you get used to the dark the darker it goes the more expensive, plus the 5% only comes in the smaller rolls so will have split in middle of rear screen, so they have to be good at what they do!! call a couple of places near you, dont know of any near your place but, and get some prices of the 5% then i'll get the guys number who did mine and send it to you!! did you get the pm?
  8. i thought that too, but thinking about it,it seems a hell of a lot cheaper, and as long as the hole is widened too much should be fine for normal rev parameters!! wouldn't do this if increasing the rev range of the conrods!!! what does it cost for your alternative? cryogentically tempered?
  9. this is not a direct answer to the question, BUT, i was speaking to a mechanic who is rebuilding a couple of engines ATM, one is a CA18DET, which he is getting stronger rod bolts from a chevy engine and reeming the hole out a little to fit the new stronger bolts!! Does this sound like a valid process or would any increase in this size cause structural issues with the conrods ??
  10. what did you guys pay for the full set!!!
  11. theres a few people out in that area, keep an eye in penrith etc and talk to the owners, that would be the easiest way to do it!!! if you were at the krispy kreme cruise on sat, you would have found someone for sure
  12. yeah thats the way i pictured it done, didn't really come out that clear in my post!!! thanks for the info sydneykid!
  13. thats normal in every skyline ive seen, they actually sell a relay kit that makes the come on as well!!
  14. that was exactly the answer i was looking for sydneykid!!! thanks heaps for that!!! just one more little question: do you just Y piece the return line and the surgetank overflow before the fuel tank, or do you need a separate lines to the tank from the surgetank and return line ?? Cheers
  15. they are all around the same price! 500 -600 for a front bar only around 300 -400 for side skirts etc try a post in the vic section too, to get local shops since you hasve to poy freight on top anywhere else!! could try www.uniqueautosports.com --> sydney www.jetspeed.com.au --sydney and melbourne (think) www.carmate.com.au try some wreckers too they may get them in from time to time /./
  16. damn, a grand!!! they sell the surge tanks for about $250, plus the fuel pump, the rest can be done yourself!!! but overall just looking at whether its going to work the way i was thinking, main reason is that i have to do this setup in a sprinter as well, since the engine conversion it has major surge issues running from the VL turbo pump!! The old AE86 dont have fuel tank baffles, causing major issue at the track when less than half a tank!!
  17. yeah neither have i, well not that i've noticed anyway, just looking for an easier way than replcing the one intank, plus the looks etc of an anodised surge tank in the boot do you know if it would work or would the high pressure pump empty it too quick to be feasable?
  18. would the standard pump running into a surge tank with larger fuel pump be enough? or would you need 2 pumps of same flow rate for this to work best?? anyone put a surge tank in the boot of a skyline, or are the fuel tanks baffled enough not to worry about starvation on the track??
  19. ended up going city side friday night, wasn't much out unfortunately!!! Im in BH for a while so pm or post here if you find something!!
  20. OR, you could egt the r33, and spend the 5 months saving up for $10K worth of mods in one go ----> definately equal a quick R33.. only about 4-5 years difference in make, and if you going to mod anyway like you were asking then your already on your way!!! the S15 is basically the same as any SR20 powered car, which is then same as most import engines, mods wise! but really depands on what you want the car for... i believe that the R33 weighs more, but has more torque with the 2.5l, but the S15 weighs less with less torque from the 2.0l engine!!
  21. well i would suggest something like the gfb hybrid so that you avoid the stalling problems that a normal atmosphere bov would cause!!
  22. that should be able to be filled, driver!!! definately try that first, front screens wont be cheap, since a rear quarter window was $300!!
  23. Nah left the engine bay black, will look cleaner overall!! and way way less work!!! engine bay still looks pretty standard, polised the engine/cam covers with a drill based buffer but thats about it!! will post some if you still want them!!!
  24. well i havent seen them in the shop, but it's like pliers that spread it open instead of clamping!!!
  25. yeah i had the same issue! took down to my mechanic he had a splitter tool and changed in like 2 minutes!! handy when you have the right tools!!
