  1. mostly likely the Volks run a clearcoat over their polished lips similar to Work rims - this clearcoat can discolour just like paint Here is a pic of some polished meisters after a cure cycle for powdercoating, as you can see the clear is there as it has gone gold. ran a set of volks through a prebake cycle on sunday - they were silver paint and annodised lips - these also discoloured similarly this suggests that something attacked the clear and to resolve you may need to strip the clear and polish the lips as bare alloy (meaning always having to repolish) - without pics it could be hard to say much more. clear annodising can be removed with a few solutions (oven cleaner or lye solutions) but there are hazards there.
  2. here is a thread on them Duncan - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ja...0&start=120 im all for the bluepoint, but they are pricey - 2 piece handle for easy transport
  3. bigger pics please - but is this going to be a full build? step by step with updates?
  4. if you are taking the covers off for something else, you can undo the baffles then tap the fittings out from the inside of the cover, less chance of damaging them incase you need them later. use a socket that just fits into the fitting on an extension to tap them out.
  5. i know you've been working on this Ben - get some pics up!
  6. remove bonnet from r33 upgrade list
  7. these rubbers dont usually crack, but get hard with age and no longer provide a good seal. the screw under the throttle body is actually the only one with a socket head to make it a bit easier with swivel extensions etc gaskets are the same across the RB range - 20-25-26
  8. damn, well i cant help directly but perhaps you can find a pic of a GTR roll cage - see if they have the bolt holes in generally the same place, and the slip on tabs for the back rests too.
  9. base then clear normally, especially if matching your current paint - those some 2k colours can be hardened in the base so no need for clear. talk to the paint suppliers, and note that it is illegal to spray 2k outside of a booth - and you need to suit up and use a respirator
  10. lol @ this thread seriously - if you are on 40 posts per page its on the LAST page of the sticky if not, the 2nd last page - 1st post with pictures from sydneykid http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...&start=6920

  14. sounds like a CAS issue - check the wires into the cas, they can crack over the years right at the plug
  15. run something like this? http://jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=HC...mp;form=KEYWORD really depends on the battery connections - you can also get 0 guage eyelet connectors that can be used with the screw in type battery poles.
  16. considering the size and weight that doesnt seem unacceptable for 2 seats
  17. most people just trim a bit of the snorkel so it clears the piping problem with the 33's is the top half of the box is the air feed, so you need to tap into that to be able to run a custom CAI on the std box.
  18. if you didnt want to keep your stock seats they would be usable as a rail for your new seats - just need to make a small frame to connect the seat to the stock 4 bolt setup - should be able tor etain the stock plastic side pieces really depends on the seat you replace them with

  21. haha good to hear she's back in the land of the living.
  22. spray carby cleaner in the intake ( into the plenum past the throttle body) - if it coughs into life your injectors prob arent plugged in, or the fuel lines are around the wrong way
  23. they use a sway bar style torsion spring - you could hook up another spring to the arm/hinge to try and slow it down
