regardless of brand, if you want the paint to stick, you need to clean and scuff the surface - then depending on what you paint it with. it may need an etch primer or not.
do a search- painting coolers have been discussed for years.
you can always use the masking tape trick - wrap the tape around the tube, trying to keep it square. then cut along the edge of the tape with a very sharp blade.
if the tape lines up and you dont saw through it, it should be a nice clean cut.
need to make a plug from the existing piece, then use that as the mold for your newly created piece.
im pretty sure i put up a how to make a mold link in the first few threads in the fabrication section.
i like the inverse flange idea, just would need to either cut your new flange hole bigger or the inverse smaller by the material thickness.
you going for stainless or mild steel?

fair call, cant you just dye the amber globe, or replace with a red globe for the turn signal ? or must the brake light flash to indicate like the option in the USA ?

they are sealed in with sikaflex, you'll need to heat up the seal and push the light out from inside the boot. make sure you keep a hold of the light so it doesnt go flying when it releases
check out a Bursons store if you have them in Darwin, they sell the rollers pretty cheap.. read the instructions and how to guides on the net. take your time and use lots of heat

Turbo side didnt have enough room onto of the extension for the fitting so the return to sump went on the side, the catch can return on intake side is sitting ontop of extension
you're thinking of Primer -a spray can of primer and sand paper will be needed to make it smooth
just use many light coats to build up the thickness, then sand after drying.
