  1. definately appears that the r31 bracket is identical to the modified r32+ ones
  2. they are the same, the GTR just has a small relocation pipe that bolts onto the compressor to move the fitting forward 3 inches or so. swapped a GTST one for a GTR one on sunday.
  3. well it isnt wasted spark - there would only be 3 coils in that case.
  4. if your going to use Ply wood, make it marine ply or it will fail in the rain. personally i would make it out of 2mm alluminium....
  5. nothing wrong with 10+degrees toe in on the rear - but totally off topic..
  6. as long as they light up bright enough and red. they will be fine - same with the amber turn signals
  7. for that i would use a MIG - less heat required to weld, and less chance of burn through - nevermind easier to learn on if its been 6 years. Gas welding is going to be nicer than running gasless.
  8. hot it with heavy sand paper to smooth it out, then hit it with something like this http://www.australianabrasives.com/flapwheels.htm to clear out the sanding marks in from the last step then back to 400 grit you can tell now why its not cheap to polish stuff haahaha

    Tig Welder

for that kind of price range, i cant really suggest anything. Might be better if you list what there is available, since most TIG machines are $4K+. all you really need for alloy is it capable of AC welding, and about 120Amps- but you might be fighting the machinea bit to get good.
  10. nice info - can you post which tensioner location these are for, for future search assistance.
  11. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Al...mp;hl=polishing ^^ read alot of work, i have since found that a scotch brite pad on a grinder will help start off the sanding/grinding process without digging into the surface or putting many deep scratches in the metal. you are looking at alot of work though
  12. there is a screwed on clip that clamps the light to the guard, im pretty sure you can get to them with a stubby screw driver after taking your wheel off - also the plastic inner guard.
  13. hahah go to the wreckers and see if there are many the correct diameter im sure that might cost you $10 and an hour or so haha
  14. NSW - 100% need to 5 gas test the car to pass emissions for the year model car.
  15. kitty hair might be an option, stronger than bog, but not hard to use like glass in this situation.
  16. sillbeer has had a few things recoated in cad plating - like below -
  17. weld it, best option for a permanant solution. glassing can work, BUT you cant really get in behind it to get a good adhesion to the surface due to the support framing bog will eventually crack off as you flex the boot to open and close it.
  18. i dont think it would be that much from what i have seen of a resto on a kgc110 - on jdmstyle forum i did some searches, but couldnt find anything, i think most things aftermarket would be zinc plated and not cad plated.
  19. they are just Cad plated, can you strip and recoat the original clamps?
  20. well the VIC documentation is shit compared to NSW, but it does state in that attachement of section 11 - "vehicle in its modified form is safe and meets all the applicable construction and emission regulations for that model" so it runs from teh chassis year, not the engine. same in nsw - emissions is based of car model manufacture not engine type - LS6 in a HQ with no cats and no noise restrictions
  21. so what head is it you are using this venting for?
  22. here - http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/NR/rdonlyre...8340/0/VSI8.pdf says you can put in something considerably different with VASS cert - if emissions are maintained. NSW restricts literage via vehicle mass. ie mass x percentage = maximum motor volume.

    Help!

looks like the level sender from the top of the power steering resevoir - you can just see the 2 wire poking out. was probably moved to teh front of the engine bay at some time.
  24. try a clay bar first, it may still be on teh surface rather than etched into the paint.
  25. nissan i believe though i think they only sell the all rubber ones now like Pete already used.
