  1. no worries, send me a drawing
  2. i could have got you a couple of stock turbos - but this seems like it will be more fun lol
  3. yeah 90 and 45 butt weld pipe to match the DN 40 tube. just chatting around the shop and got some ideas - so will be pricing up something that might help the DIYer
  4. thanks mate, i was originally going to buy a 6boost and just get it done, but i just spent that money on the TIG instead as that was a better use of funds/investment
  5. And no, no mill to work with. i did try to work out a way to use a drop saw, but there is not really any way to hold the piece at the angles needed to collect 6 pipes.
  6. actually went with 30 degrees, hopefully that wont cause issues with gettting the pipework connected n the space provided
  7. will help when the muffler kisses speedbumps later in life anyway
  8. that sucks dave i'll see if i can find any spare alloy to make a new centre for you. Some pics of the new manifold im making from my fabrication thread - http://www.skylinesa...ds-fabrication/
  9. haha exactly. that flange in the first 2 shots i drew up in CAD and cut on the CNC plasma at work, so thats pretty handy too got some spare if anyone needs a T25 flange
  10. Its DN 40 medium - so 48.3 OD and 3.2mm wall - same match for the 32mm butt weld bends pipe sizes with nominal bore are still a mystery to me lol - but they match
  11. Finally purchased my own TIG machine after borrowing one for a few months, so hopefully with time permitting i'll be able to get into making alot more stuff. First up is the new exhaust manifold, after working with a mate at my other work we 3D modelled the 6 into 1 merge collector in Inventor. Split that down and make a flat template or the cuts for each collector. unfortunately i didnt take pics along the way but with a hand grinder i've cut out and welded up the collector - its not perfect, unfortunately, but it should still flow much better than the china stainless manifold im using at the moment. i'll work on making up a JIG to cut them out accurately when time permits. just had to test it out.
  12. No worries Joel let me know when you are going to take the car over to Ariel and we'll tee something up.
  13. for 4" thats pretty tucked, nice work. hard mounted to the gearbox hence the need for the flex joint?
  14. hahah mexico - technically still downunder from there i'll give you a call the morning to grab your details
  15. you going to grub screw the block and crank Sean, was suprised at how much crap was built up behind the plugs on mine.
  16. good to see you got it sorted Dave, nice results! should be bloody quick on the road too - throw in some poncams and it would get even better
  17. hell yeah! - scored some lengths of pipe that have about1.5mm of play each side internally that i'll be using to make a more povo version of this thing need to turn one of my sprinters upside down for some reason
  18. Im keen to come down and visit, but if you are too busy i wouldnt want to get in your way - i have a habit of asking lots of questions lol
  19. hahahaha i''d come past but wouldnt get there til 9pm lol if people are getting donuts i might drop in afterwards on my way home
  20. wish i could get a chance to watch you work, ive spent too much time with fabricators that just want to get it done, not to look good.
  21. Cheers Dave - chop chop time to finished the interior for me though
  22. quick snap as i got home, been a year since i took her to my shop
  23. Spent a little time on this in the last 2 months, though not enough Car is rego'd and running on the road! took the car out for a few drives and was blowing IC hoses - easy fix with welding on some beads to the new alloy piping i made Car is running better and better everytime i take it out. Fiddled with the tune and did some logging with the datalogit - ended up adding 4 degrees of timing in the off boost area with only 3 cells reporting 15 or 16 knock in the logs - just have a loose connection in the wideband setup that stops it working every now and then. probably something i did when i was hooking the PLX SM-AFR up to the datalogit unit. Anyway, it feels much faster than my stocker 33 for normal road driving, as any boost really does send me over the speed limit lol - think i can get to about 3psi before im speeding haha best thing - its so quiet!!! (well except the exhaust) - no rattles, no knocks just a little scrubbing on the stock rear guards over bumps, so a quick roll of the guards should sort that out.
  24. question for the OP - can you list what "all supporting mods" are as listed in your first post? FPR? Injectors? are they factory injectors and factory set fuel pressure?
  25. Check out my build thread, hardly noticeable difference, there are pics in there that show how it turned out in mine.
