  1. no tailshaft mods required
  2. personally if you want a candy - and are going to paint it yourself, try something out of the box - so many colours out there say a dark candy green over a metallic base
  3. front cam gear covers are stamped steel, cam covers (rocker covers) are cast alloy.
  4. they way i would do it is with a pipe cutter stand (for drill press) mounted on a horizontal band saw .. 2 cuts per piece - stand clamps and sets up the angle for the cut - remember this is for a 4 cyl and the cutting is alot simpler than the 6 pipes of kyles manifolds i have seen people make these collectors without mills after lots of trial an error using PVC pipe.
  5. good points i know first hand how long it takes to sand blast engine covers if your not using an industrial unit.
  6. what about your painter that did your engine cheap ? what was it $50 ? 2 colours = lots more time as well
  7. yep i mentioned that before depends on what your doing with the car i guess just when i think of it , its normally about $800 for a 4 piece body kit to get painted .. engine covers are so so so much smaller lol
  8. lower and upper timing belt covers coil pack cover 2 cam covers
  9. heres the link to the for sale http://www.punishment-racing.com/diy.html
  10. you can buy the collector pipes pre cut from a mob in the states - i'll see if i can find the link have seen people get the same diameter pvc pipe to run test cuts til they got the angles right, the transfer to the steel my thoughts on cutting process would be a simple horizontal bandsaw and a jig.
  11. ouch $550 for the cover set not much choice really if mil jade is required.
  12. take them in, dont leave them on the motor only hassle is with the lower belt cover - but most dont paint them unless the motors out
  13. no issues, just need to drill and tap for a fitting into the oil gallery behind the cam gear (also covered in the rb30 thread with pics)
  14. drill it out - tap it and usea grub screw - that way if ever you go back to rb25 or sell off the head it can still be used. also no need to redeck the head - unless your doing that already
  15. how much just for calipers?
  16. http://www.mscn.com.au
  17. i used a cheapie direct plug in soldering iron to plastic weld, so that adjustable one will work. you'll need to try and get a hold of some filler rod for the plastic welding .. or use off cuts as filler.
  18. motorsport connections - seven hills NSW
  19. DIGITAL CAMO http://www.hyperstealth.com/CADPAT-MARPAT.htm
  20. digital camo like the bike on Ep 1 of this seasons American chopper? looks cool, squares are obviously easier to mask up ready for paint of reach colour you choose.. masking up of all areas for each colour - think there is about 4 colour shades .. plus base - lots of labour in the painting and masking on top of prep. prob cost you up to $1K (guessing on labour rates) more than a straight colour
  21. heavily diluted degreaser - something like simple green with 1 :30 water mix is fine. as for the pipe - it might, but i doubt you'll notice much difference since the terbulence at the rear of the car will always pull it back towards the rear bar to some extent.
  22. spraying on your rear bar then washing off to remove the stains from your rear bar
